I don't really understand time dilation or a good bit of the information on that page.
Basically their saying the speed of light is a constant. If you are traveling the speed of light and turn your headlights on, you wont see the light. They didn't say that but thats what I got out of it with the whole C+V part at the beginning.
I guess time dilation is somewhat like hearing a fire truck coming down the road? Its the same intensity of sound but it sounds different with your relative position to it. So is time dilation like relative positioning?
I looked at the page on time dilation and the whole concept of something with a higher speed having a slower moving clock is hard for my to grasp especially with my inadequate knowledge in physics. I'm bad at math and only know the most basic physics equations. I'm going to reteach myself math with SI units in hopes that can make it easier, sparking my interest but I still get bored with just simple algebra and geometry.
Idk man think about it, the human body which has thrived off of photons for a very long time deep down to our Evolutionized DNA. Not just our species as of now but all we know that we have evolved from. Now think about putting the human body in an absence of such an essential particle for our survival.
Light has more than the eye can see
When a man is in a coma for 30 years he can wake up and see fine, although his eyes were probably open at points and even when they were closed light can seep through your eyelids.
I think not having light for any period of time would be bad. Biologically we thrive off light, a world void of light for a human for one month couldn't be good.
Light makes vitamin D when it touches our skin.
Our bodies have never been in the complete absence of light, so I guess we will never have an answer to your question.
Well if the big bang theory is correct then we can look at CMBR and cosmological blueshift to see the new universe, while cosmological redshifted light shows us the older universe.
So speed and direction are what change the properties of the wave?
I'm guessing the redshift light and blueshift light are mostly a directional difference relatively to our own?
Your right variety is a very good thing, I don't take supplements or pills. I'm willing to bet they do more harm than good, 30 years ago we thought salt helped you retain water. I mean it does kind of but it doesn't work the way we thought it did.
A variety introduces many different nutrients and helps stabilize your immune system.
So the small seeds diet, what does it consist of? I like flax seeds.
Can cosmological red-shift have any effect on the physical properties of light? I mean the "redshifted" light we see has a different frequency, wavelength, etc, so could this have any effect on individual photons?
Go ahead and delete this thread, i'm not trying to challenge the meticulous work of thousands of scientists who made sure light moves at a constant rate. I'm just interested in things that defy our modern principles of knowledge because thats what makes the biggest leaps and bounds. Plus i'm kind of gullible so that doesn't help my interest.
You can take this thread down, sorry for the silly question.
So in a vacuum, it is or its not constant?
I see that this topic is debatable and were not really sure yet if light moves at a constant rate in a vacuum or not.
Can anyone give me any information, books, links, etc on the subject?
I want to know the most innovative new ways of harvesting energy being hypothesized and researched right now. Clean energy is cool but I want to talk about new things, or making clean energy more efficient.
Anything under the sun in this thread, I want to talk about energy and the newest most innovative ways to harvest it.
Okay cool clean energy is awesome, but what if we could find a way to harvest energy chemically instead of kinetically?
Solar power is the deepest we have gotten into developing new ways of harvesting energy the way i'm talking about, I want something more sophisticated.
I guess that makes sense. I didn't read the whole thing but I think I got the jist of it.
Could it be because we have evolved from hunting and gathering so little food throughout the day rather than a lot of food should be healthier and more natural? I beleive the study results and everything but just wondering why?
