Is it possible that all life in the universe can extinct

What is accidental other than unintended? Why does it matter is it was intended or not. Is water intended to freeze? -
Emotions and the role they play in our survival.
too-open-minded replied to too-open-minded's topic in Speculations
I dont like to argue I like to respectively share opinions and views so that we can together form the most well constructed perception on the subject. I'm just tired of everyone always trying to argue. I was hoping in the midst of "arguing" with someone, I could open their mind. I was stating that emotions are natures way of telling us to survive and its time we move on from things like greed and anger. I was just hoping I didn't have to say it and somone could see the direction I'm pointing in, guess I'm just crazy and only make sense to myself :/ -
What politics is controlled by in the united states.
too-open-minded replied to too-open-minded's topic in Politics
HYPOTHETICALLY! we strive to do these things. It sounds bad but think about Johnothan Swift - a modest proposal. You get together with people and synchronize events, everyone only buy certain brand name gas for a month. Tell other gas stations if they meet our demands of opening schools like this one --------------------------------------- >http://www.scienceforums.net/topic/67708-making-the-future-possible/page__p__690541__fromsearch__1#entry690541 <------------------------------------------------- We will start buying their gas again, demand for the little things we are deprived of that we know will only undoubtedly be for the good-will of everyone else. This is years down the road if the grip greed has on our government tightens, Although I think people in the top few percentile will realize that if they don't make some more social ladders our economy is bound to get owned by us. So we never really will have to result to my outlandish idea. We would have to literally be very well conducted, almost work as a direct democracy where everyone votes. People would have to start keeping their word and put the preservation of their brother or sister on the same level as their own. I said if we overcome our greed we can do it, I never said its gonna be easy. -
I have a theory that is so simple an idiot could understand it. If you can help me get this recognized, we can help change the way educational system loses out on the opportunity a child's mind has. Imagine a classroom with 2 highly trained teachers. A classroom that finds a childs individual talents and builds their self esteem. A classroom that has somone who can be a childs friend and pull them aside to see the error in their decision making process. Help the child recognize their emotions and subconscious wants. Make the child more rational, more like therapy than school is now. Teach children only fundamentals and basics then some things like number patternsor a simple universal writing language.I would recommend these schools beginning at age 3 and ending at 7. I imagine a future where the most highley revered and payed people in the world are scientists, researchers, and educators. We can make it off this planet.

Is it possible that all life in the universe can extinct
too-open-minded replied to rajesh_m's topic in General Philosophy
We will most likely never know, but what defines life? Consciousness? Is the Sea Squirt ( http://goodheartextremescience.wordpress.com/2010/01/27/meet-the-creature-that-eats-its-own-brain/ ) still conscious after it eats its own brain? What is evolution? -
Emotions Have aided animals in their survival. Anger will give an animal the courage to fight. Fear will keep the animal out of harms way. Greed will make the animal strive to sustain ones life. Love will make the animal find companionship and work together to sustain life for each other. Emotions have played a major role in our survival. How exactly we came to evolve them. what came first the chicken or the egg? I don't want to argue this. If you think emotions haven't aided survival, I will respectively listen to your argument. Side Note - I think were way more likely to survive loving each-other than we are hating each-other.

Greed, So until the general population realizes that the only way their going to change things is by not being greedy. Things will only stay the same, or get worse. I'm not saying the government is trying to control money for themselves and are out to get us. I get highly annoyed by people thinking things like this, so please go somewhere else with that crap. If you think our government has no corruption in it, please let me hear your argument.

In my opinion, the only thing infinite is nothing. To a human, yes the universe may look so big that its seems infinite but were just really small compared to the universe. The human mind/consciousness can generate things like numbers, lines, circles, patterns. these things do not appear in nature, or atleast they are not precisely perfect. As they are in our minds. Our reality is an illusion ;P

So...... yeah, GM making everyone buy their seeds every year. lol. Another thing, Red meat isn't easily digested but we still eat it. Candy and high-sugar bearing soft drinks are widely accepted. A cashew is poisonous but you can eat it after its been cooked. Potatoes, would you really eat one raw? Hey! If your not an idiot read about the role fire has played in evolution, http://salmonriver.com/words/nancy/firefood.html Why are we even talking about this? Please god tell me your not conspirasists.

Okay guys I hear the argument being made that some crops have been genetically modified because they were poisonous? Am i misunderstanding? If not, how is this a bad thing? What is a poison other than a compound alien to the human body, evolution has its way around poisons. If administered in small quantities. On an added note, meso-americans had a plumbing system while Europeans were still spewing their bowel movements in the streets out of buckets. Every culture has is advantages and disadvantages, If we were to mix cultures. I cant express to you the things we would achieve.

To harvest a more resilient and bountiful crop/stock of course.

I have had this thought before but having no prior knowledge about what i saw on the movie food inc. I didn't want to make my opinion right yet. I'm sure GM has the right to tell farmers they must legally use their seeds, if the plants caught a new virus they weren't ready for the worlds population would dwindle. Thank you for giving me a respectable educated view on the subject. Although I still feel the concept of a monetary form of circulated currency corrupts everything. whether its someone on top of the world, or down in the dumps.

You keep up that abstract thinking! Nobody discovered anything amazing by listening to everyone elses bullshit, good luck. If you need any help or just want a honest opinion don't hesitate to hit me up

Saltwater crocodile vs great white shark?
too-open-minded replied to Fanghur's topic in Ecology and the Environment
If your in open water, great white hands down. If your in a saltwater marsh, crock has the win. Although just like MMA, anything can happen if you get hit on the button. -
Please help me to identify this species

The Beginning of Life
too-open-minded replied to The Conqueror's topic in Ecology and the Environment
Personally I think the beginning of life is evolution and evolution is the beginning of life. Your perception on life is relative to you, which gives room for illusion. Can something that isn't conscious be alive? -
fight Malaria with "Mosquito feeders" ?
too-open-minded replied to Widdekind's topic in Ecology and the Environment
I like this idea although theirs alot of water on this planet, mosquitos breed in water. how long can we feed the growing mosquito population before they run out of food and have to eat something else Sometimes you make small problems bigger by trying to fix them, ever picked a scab thats not healed? -
Air humidifiers, what's the point?
too-open-minded replied to CaptainPanic's topic in Ecology and the Environment
Alot of sicknesses are bacteria. The majority of bacteria we know about breeds in places that are warm and wet, So alot of people with weak lungs and hearts are encouraged to go to dry climates either above or below the temperature for bacteria to breed. Humidifiers to my knowledge are more for comfort than anything. My friend had his tonsils and adenoids removed and his doctor recommended getting a humidifier for comfort. I had mine removed and never used one. Air conditioning is also for comfort. We have a lot of things we don't need, I want to move to Sweden when I have the money. -
It could break the food-chain resulting in devastation, or evolution could find ways around it.

Pair of great danes vs a tiger, who would win?
too-open-minded replied to Fanghur's topic in Ecology and the Environment
Ive seen some mean ass cats whip some mean ass dogs asses. Although usually the dogs win, some cats. the hardest of the hard, are the species not to be messed with. I fear the thought of 2 danes meeting a large predatorial cat, as I love animals. -
We are self destructive just look at how culture, religion, and race conflict. The only way we can stop destroying ourselves is if we start loving eachother. love is a new relatively new emotion compared to anger and greed. Its natures way of telling us to survive now. We need to all become one culture and one race, we need to help eachother. We might be from a different country but we all bleed the same blood we are all biologically the same except by a few thousands years difference which is the blink of an eye to the universe.

Athough I don't understand your theory, I respect it. You can look at things from a different perspective, a lot of people either cant or wont. Your going to get 99 things wrong before you get 1 right, atleast a man named Albert Einstein said that. But I respect what Joatmom said to, If were going to worry about problems energy is causing. Lets worry about the big ones first. Unless you can somehow prove to an educated person or peoples this will butterfly effect into something, by all means try to prevent this problem. I just don't understand it so I cant believe it as it is not relevant to me, I'm a highschool dropout. Tell you what once after I start college in the fall and am more educated in physics and forces, Ill be able to give you a valid opinion.

If the reason your asking the questions has anything to do with your self esteem please read what I'm about to say a few times. Your a growing hormonal girl, at one point atleast in the near future you will experience thoughts about how attractive you might look, you will probably even go as far as to compare yourself to other girls to get a good understanding of how you look. PLEASE DON'T DO THAT! Hormones confuse things and you probably won't fully develop self esteem till your 20's. Im sure even kim kardashian and paris hilton felt self conscious at one point in their teens. Your an individual, the only person your going to look like is you. Maybe a little like your family, but your going to be yourself. If you had a twin at a young age yall would look alike, but eventually your twin would look somewhat different. Please everyone is different and everyone has different tastes. You might be really skinny, some guys like skinny girls. You might be really overweight, some guys like big girls. The number one thing is to find yourself and be content with who you are. Aren't you way more attracted to a boy who has self-pride and and a little bit of cockiness but not too much? Believe it or not us guys like the same thing in a girl. I'm 18 ive been around the block a little bit and I can tell you when a girl knows shes bad, she bad . Oh and little other bit of information. Wait till after highschool to date, trust me hormones and social status will not allow you to have a proper relationship. It can wait, plus most people are really immature until their late 30's. That doesnt mean date older guys either! When your a freshman don't date a senior, any guy who cant talk to girls his own age is a complete douche. So anyways take care ignisa, good luck with your growing pains, and please re-read that so you fully comprehend everything i'm trying to tell you, they are wise words.
