how many different forms of chloroethane are possible with the formula C2 H6-n Cln (hope the formula is clear)?? The examiner reports say 9 but when I try working it out... i get only 8. Can anyone decipher the 9th chloroethane by that formula?? thnx

i just tried working it out and found the ration of Cl : P as 1:1.688 which is weird since then, the empirical formula would round off to be P2Cl .... and I don't think thats right. Must be something wrong in the question or something or I, maybe, doing something wrong... [i just hate it when that happens!!]

I think thats because of string theory, which predicts space-time composed of extremely minute miniscule strings; hence the cliche fabric of space-time.

These virtual particles theory is really interesting... I read about quatum mechanics but never came across this; gotta look into this some more, thanks for the info JHAQ!

dispersion forces. non-polar molecules, when mixed, set up induced dipole-dipole attractions (van dar waals forces) which are much weaker than the ionic bonds in ions and permanent dipole attractions of polar molecules.
