Draconic, I do not have an answer, but I have the same question about the same injury, as it happened to me on June 29th. I am a dancer and without insurance, but I know I tore my gluteus medius. I heard the audible rip and felt a pop, so I believe I ruptured the tendon at the insertion of the muscle. The weakness has not changed. If/when you find out, would love to hear any information on this topic. Thanks!
