I think this can be best described as Torque http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torque if you view the picture of the pretty different galaxy types the other gentleman posted, it resembles alot the stages a torque converter goes through. http://auto.howstuffworks.com/auto-parts/towing/towing-capacity/information/torque-converter2.htm galaxies and hurricanes both have a central eye of rotation.
