Panglosss. Here is the one word answer: context. Here is the longer answer: the current situation in Portugal is that abortion is illegal any referendum would be considering the option of making it legal (or more precisely extending its limited legality) that the referendum could contain the option of maintaining the status quo is probable, but does not alter the fact that the option perceived is one of change it was this perceived option that was narrowly defeated. In context there is nothing odd or biased about the report. In hindsight, given your peculiar interpretation, the writer could have been more precise, and not relied on context to convey meaning.

I have seen ghosts on two occasions and heard one (in a group) on four other occasions. I do not believe any of these events require an investigation. Plausible and mundane explanations are available without resorting to the unknown. As Swansont says, it needs substantially more evidence than you have presented thus far to merit even as much attention as we are giving it here.

I could address most of the points you raise, but since you have blatantly and ignorantly insulted one of my heroes I likely wont bother. Oh, well one point: his book (I'm guessing it's Life Cloud) is a summary of work done over several years. It is a popular summary of that work - not the work itself. Of course its brief!

Does Evolution have a point?
Ophiolite replied to MaxCathedral's topic in Evolution, Morphology and Exobiology
It's rather terracentric to view a return to the sea as a retrograde step. There are plenty of single celled eukaryotes. The distinction between eukaryotes and prokaryotes is one of cell organisation and complexity, not cell number. -
What's the stupidest conspiracy you can think of.

There are only two people posting to this site. One uses names containing numerals [e.g. YYT2095, d22k], the other uses purely alphabetic names. Both persons are schizophrenic with multiple personalities. There medication maintains them in a state where they are wholly unaware of the other personalities in their mind. [The exception is when the Sayonara personality exhibits, as he hears voices telling him he is the chosen one of the great sphagetti beast.]They are being held in a secure facility in an abandoned mine in Irian Jaya by a consortium of scientologists, Trotskyites, defrocked Greek Orthodox Priests and former members of Take That. It is hoped that they will either discover the cause of canaries or be able to explain why Dick Cheney and Michael Jackson are never seen in public at the same time. 0phiolite -
We put the world into categories; we see patterns, even when they are not there; we look for the familiar. This is how the mind works. You are misleading yourself. And might the common factor here be that everyone is using a camera?

Outstanding sound effects. Wholly convincing. Should receive a 'Refutation of the Year' award. -
It was contrived, ill conceived, improperly planned, unjustified and short sighted to go in. It would be simply evil to leave.

Four, if you count the tale they tell of the early history of the solar system.

Read the opening paragraphs of the OPs first link. The flaw should then be self evident - assuming you don't lack the basic skills of logic and scientific thinking!

No it isn't. For example [in simple terms] http://www.astronomycafe.net/qadir/ask/a11839.html No. The future may be eternal. That is a different matter.

Which results are you tabulating? Compositional changes in the solutions; of the metals? Changes in mass of the metal? You should certainly consider using sea water as one of your liquids. "3. what variables that will affect the investigation?" Are you sealing the tubes? Oxygen content will be critical. "2.Does anyone here know how to write the perfect aim?" I see the words.....what is the meaning?

So, Swansont, who has a Ph.D. in atomic physics. is ignorant. I quake in terror at what this makes me. Many? Certainly some, and you should logically place yourself close to the top of the list. Here is the essence of your problem: an ill-defined, unsubstantiated, poorly documented, anecdotal event, is taken by you to be factual and very real. That is not science, your approach is not scientific. It is an entertaining story;it is decidedly not evidence of time travel.

Shoot, can anyone post a temporary goodbye? I'm off to Moscow in the morning. Regretably, not for a month....

No you don't. You can train yourself to wake up at any predesignated time with an accuracy of plus or minus five minutes.

I think there may be a certain reluctance to: a) Do someones homework for them b) Attempt to answer such a vaguely asked question without more context As someone who has to figure out from first principles which way to turn a scredriver each time I pick one up I am not best placed to answer a mechanical question. However, might you just possibly be talking a volume issue? You primarily need max Q for max cooling, right?

I'm not sure I concur with YT's 'read a dictionary', but certainly read. Read voraciously, eclectically, intensively and extensively. Read. Read. Read. -
From whose point of view?

And because of inefficiencies in the process you get less out than you put in. (Possibly google heat engines). The advantage of a hydrogen powered car is that you centralise the pollution generation where it could be better controlled, rather than spewing out noxious fumes in urban areas.

Please see his reply to my similar question in post 10. Also, this was his last post. He seems to have vanished.
