  1. SHould that be f'(x)? f"(x) is the concavity testing..
  2. Just like Tom said; but you've got to be careful sometimes. Use the first derivative test to check for critical points, b/c sometimes the derivative may yield a MAX or a MIN; you may also have to check the restrictions placed upon the model.

  6. Well, to me; Physics seems alot more organised than Chemistry, maybe b/c its been around for a while. While chemistry is still a bit iffy... ie. For every 10 questions I ask in Chem to my teacher, the answer to 9 of them is Well, that's just the way it is. WHile in Physics, there's a logical reply.

  14. I haven't learned integration yet; care to teach me? But I was just thinking, if you have an infinite number of sine & cosine funxs, wouldn't they just nullify each other causing 0 amplitude? Or am I missing something here?

  17. Can someone clarify or explain what the Fourier Series is? From what I understand, its a way in which periodic funx can be expressed as a sine & cosine funxs together; However, seeing as how my knowledge in Calculus is limited to Grade School Advanced Functions & Introductory Calculus, I'm just like when I see sites like http://www.nst.ing.tu-bs.de/schaukasten/fourier/en_idx.html#DIRI & http://mathworld.wolfram.com/FourierSeries.html
  18. Well, in Canada, there's a required Grade 10 Literacy Test needed for all students to pass in order to obtain their High School Diploma as well. The test was divided into 2 parts: Math & English Personally, I don't really have any problems with it, but the problem lies in the fact that there are alot of immigrants to Canada, especially those whose native tongue is not English. Everyone knows that the Asian style of teaching is much more rigurous than the one in Canada (I'm not sure how the education system is in the states); so most the immigrants pass the Math part with flying colours. HOwever, when it comes to the written English Comprehension part, problems begin to arise..
