    Ghosts

I realise that this probably isn't a typical "science" response, but perhaps the facts are all here in the form of eye-witnesses. I'm not one to trust anyone elses eye-witness testimony of ghosts/aliens/whatever, but because I saw it myself I can truely say I have proof. However, whether I'm crazy or lying is up to the rest of you to decide and for me to not lose any sleep over In my forum, the last person to post was saying what is in the photo is a spectrum, I tried to explain that spectrums don't exist in themselves, they're emitted from things (such as ghosts) so perhaps what we see is a spectrum of a ghost. Could be the same thing as seeing a person live on TV? Or perhaps a better analogy would be pouring paint over an invisible man. paint=spectrum

    Mars by 2010?

No it wasn't those, but I am well aware of Seti. It was someone I know in person who told me NASA had a lot of private funding... probably someone talking bollocks, I just never thought to question it as this was many years ago, before I was even interested in science.
  3. yourdadonapogos, you asked a rhetorical question on the first page. Along the lines of "what's smaller than a quark?" Actually, particle physics tests tell us that most quarks are in fact bigger than most electrons, and the smallest things we know about are neutrinos. I can just see questions for sources flying at me now, so here's one Of course quarks are highly variable in size and mass, which could account for this average, but I just had to bring it to your attention

    Mars by 2010?

You flatter me too much Ophiolite, well known poster and all. I've been looking for sources to tell me that NASA has some privately funded projects, but the information just isn't there. I'm always one to admit right away when I'm wrong, so I was wrong about that, and I don't quite remember who told me that lie but once I do I'll make sure to double-check everything they tell me before blurting it out again Also, thanks for posting those source links on the mars polar lander, I didn't know that.
  5. Typical, it's over before I even look
  6. What, just one source? This is the internet buddy. I can't find the source you posted (mainly cause i didn't look ) but surely you can't just believe one source. Oh and Atheist get off it. Either you're a smart-ass or jumped the gun very early on your reply.

    Ghosts

i agree with YT2095 about the last two, they don't seem significant to me at all. I disagree, however, that you can be so conclusive about the first. It may have been a lucky camera angle, or a lucky ghost My website is in my signature, and yesterday I posted a photo one of my friends took of a ghost in an out-door fire. There are over 5 witnesses from that party who say they saw very clearly the ghost of a little girl inside the fire, and the fire was divided around her head for a good 5 minutes as she appeared to be talking. If you're interested in that just click on my signature, it's a lucky coinsidence that we made these posts within a day of eachother. Oh, and I'm not a conspiracy theorist, and consider myself to be a skeptic in fact.

    Mars by 2010?

Mad Mardigan: "Dont forget, when nasa put up Hubble, they forgot to put in the lens. Ooops, and calculated in feet and programmed in meters for the last attempt to put something on Mars." Can i see some sources for this please? pi_of_9: The Ansari Group could create a new X Prize for 2010. But it will take more than $10,000,000 in prize money. Then there maybe a possibility that it might happen by then, otherwise I think it'll be another 10 years or so. This has nothing to do with anything as far as I can tell, please explain your thoughts more clearly. Also, before considering how long it would take to get to mars, look here for information on new propulsion technology, including a project NASA is working on now, magnetized beamed plasma propulsion. And contrary to what some people say, NASA is well funded and it doesn't matter too much what the government pays them because most of their popular projects are supported with private funds.
  9. This isn't even a mathematical question you realise. Just because it's numerical doesn't mean it's mathematical, and regardless of what category it fits into it's the stupidest thing i've ever heard, ever. That equation just doesn't exist and never would in mathematics.
  10. i just tried drawing it but couldn't understand most of it. perhaps you could try drawing the equation in MS paint or another drawing program?
  11. ed84c, the last time I checked (4 days ago I admit) no one had proved that neutrinos travel slower than C. What you may be referring to is one of the possible conclusions that the new findings cause us to come to, which are either: a) e=mc^2 doesn't apply to neutrinos b) neutrinos travel slightly slower than C Four days ago neither was proven to my knowledge. Could you post sources?
  12. that's what they said about neutrinos too and now it's been found they have rest mass
  13. print screen is usually located to the right of F12, and above Insert. If you have a mac then there's the problem Also, yeah I've got that same copy of halo 2 reserved too. also i've been lucky enough about a month ago to have already played the first level on xbox which is even worse than not playing at all, because it just stops after the first level, which is often followed by much screaming and shouting.
  14. "Design for Mozilla, Firefox or Opera, then use fixes to ensure IE displays the page in a sufficiently similar fashion." Sayonara, that's the biggest load of crap i've ever heard. if you're a designer, you design for internet explorer unless your employer specifies otherwise. period. Hardly any serious companies would take firefox as seriously as IE, because internet explorer is still by far the most widely used internet browser. You might think it's cool to use it personally, and hey that's fine I have no problem with that and firefox does have great qualities and may in fact be better than IE, but the fact of the matter is that IE is more widely used so a designer should design for IE. I don't like it how many people's computer resolutions are 800 by 600 (in fact i despise it) but as a designer i have to cater for them or else my client will potentially lose business because of my bias, and the same should be applied for those who like firefox too.
  15. but sorcerer, i thought you were a hardcore new zealand bloke? what are you doing, wine's for poofters mate. drink speights mate. as for the vodka thing, i agree with that, i've never had a hangover while drinking vodka straight. it's when you mix fundamental "colours" (e.g. black, white, cream) that you come across problems. I think people sometimes forget that alcohol is extremely poisonous and kills people regularly. and hey, whaddayaknow, poison often results in pain...
  16. i want to see a source too, sounds interesting
  17. doubt you'd say that to his face though Sayonara³, that is unless you were keen on saying sayonara to your face
  18. The best body-building suppliment to my knowledge is Creatine Monohydrate in powder form. I use Horleys. It's amazing stuff, gives you a lot of initial boost for your workout. People say dieting is good to do with bodybuilding as well, but honestly if you're taking creatine monohydrate eat as much of everything as you can because the more you eat (fat, protein etc) the more you'll get out of it, no sense worrying about diets when you want to bodybuild guys let's leave that to the women. does my ass look fat?
  19. we can, but what's to discuss? seems blatently obvious to me that this is a scam
  20. he seems very confident that tens of milions of people are satisfied with this product, yet the disclaimer is "All written and oral statements are my true beliefs. There are at this moment not yet medicalclaims. I am basically writing this disclaimer to protect myself from the FDA. Thedevices are for research and experimentation of the buyers. Not to be carried outas treatment on someone else's body." uh-huh... mmm...
  21. it's funny you should bring that up rakuenso, recently a method to significantly reduce rusting effects of photosynthesis when it's combined with electronics. The article is on my site (it's in my sig)
  22. i didn't know that, but please continue, it sounds interesting

    Tesla Coil

i want one! i'm gonna build a big one like in red alert 2
  24. i see why your name is madscientist now. i'm not meaning to offend you cause you seem like a nice person, but you obviously have no idea of how evolution works. you're right that it's sci-fi, very sci-fi, with emphasis on the latter word
  25. draac has great tutorials on dhtml, html, frames, tables, and great links to javascripting, perl etc
