  1. Of course you can say you integrate between a and b if a > b then swap the variables and integrate.
  2. Well at worst you would need enough storage for the whole string. However say my string was composed of regular expressions. The largest reader I would need would be the size of the largest regular expression. For instance 0010010010010011001101 Is 2 regular expressions 001 and 1001101 so the largest reader I would need would be of size 7. Also it should make use of don't care terms eg 1001 to 1010 should only require a regular expression of size 3 since we don't care what the second term is.
  3. Suppose I want to change a string from left to right 001001 to 000010 010010 to 000100 Etc. In one pass is there any way to work out the minimum number of bits I would have to read at one time? At first glance it appears I could use the levenstein distance but that wouldn't find the most optimal solution.
  4. Couldn't you just use sound after every output? SOUND 100 , 20
  5. How is that different to feature-oriented programming?
  6. Hey, what a good question. What happens to the bacteria depends on the rate at which you freeze the yoghurt. Slow freezing causes large ice crystals to form which will break the bacteria cell walls and make the whole product not taste very nice. Most foods are destroyed by slow freezing which is why you shouldn't refreeze food in a normal freezer. In order to preserve the bacteria cell walls factories cool their products using liquid nitrogen which causes small ice crystals to form. This idea can be easily shown with shop bought ice cream if left to defrost and refrozen it tastes horrible..
  7. I have described a deterministic turing machine that calculated SAT it was called Colossus II. All of these turing machines were destroyed after ww2 and represented the pinnacle of turing machines at the time.
  8. Okay, well if you get that then could you not load the registers using a non-halting universal deterministic turing machine? • P = Problems where a deterministic turing machine given input Σ does not halt • M = (Q,Σ,Γ,δ,q0,B,F) • Q is the finite set of states of the finite control. • Σ is the finite set of input symbols. • Γ is the finite set of tape symbols; Σ ⊂ Γ. • δ : Q × Γ → Q × Γ × {L,R} is the transition function • q0 ∈ Q is the start state. • B ∈ Γ is the blank symbol; B 6∈ Σ. • F ⊆ Q is the set of final or accepting states. • M is the memory start symbol • < is the tape start symbol • > is the tape end symbol • L(M) = {w ∈Σ∗ | M accepts w} • Tape = <0011101001001110100100111010011111111010010011101001001110100111BBBBBBBMBBBBBBB> • IR/W = Read/Write input string • R/W = Read/Write • A = Accepting state • Qa = accept answer • Qr = reject answer • R = Move Right • Q = • { • { • (IR/W,<)=(IR/W,<,R), • (IR/W,0)=(IR/W,0,R), • (IR/W,1)=(IR/W,1,R), • (IR/W,B)=(IR/W,B,R), • (IR/W,M)=(IR/W,>,L to <) • }, { • (R/W,<)=(R/W,<,R to M), • (R/W,B)=(R/W,B,R), • (R/W,0)=(R/W,0,R), • (R/W,1)=(R/W,1,R), • (R/W,>)=(R/W,>,L to <) • }, { • (A,<)=(A,<,R to M), • (A,B)=(A,B,R), • (A,0)=(A,0,Qa), • (A,1)=(A,1,Qa), • (A,>)=(A,>,Qr) • } • } • M = ({{(IR/W,<)=(IR/W,<,R),(IR/W,0)=(IR/W,0,R),(IR/W,1)=(IR/W,1,R),(IR/W,B)=(IR/W,B,R),(IR/W,M)=(IR/W,>,L to <)}, {(R/W,<)=(R/W,<,R to M),(R/W,B)=(R/W,B,R),(R/W,0)=(R/W,0,R),(R/W,1)=(R/W,1,R),(R/W,>)=(R/W,>,L to <)}, {(A,<)=(A,<,R to M),(A,B)=(A,B,R),(A,0)=(A,0,Qa),(A,1)=(A,1,Qa),(A,>)=(A,>,Qr)}},{0,1},{0,1,<,>,B,M},{Q × Γ → Q × Γ × {L,R}},<,B,{>})Non-deterministic turing machines may appear faster at the start. They allow you to easily seek and write data. This in itself is a fundamental weakness of the NDTM in that if I have a really long tape I have to rewind the tape the whole way back to where I want to change each and every time.
  9. The above circuit can accept the binary representation of a bit integer. If there is no number in the register then the value stored in memory by the adder will be all zeros. You can then use multiple of same and nand gates to do exactly what you say can't be done.
  10. Assume set with numbers given by 3 32 bit integers. 1,2,3,4 -> etc Then we add the cardinality of the given set. We place each number into registers and increment a number stored in d flip flops representing the cardinality each time. Then read the numbers from the registers decrementing the number each time. Now we have a boolean circuit capable of representing the null set by checking the value stored in the flip flops. Eg.
  11. Hi the problem with landfills is that when you have loads of rubbish in one place it begins to generate heat and chemicals which will melt the lead etc causing harmful gas buildup under the ground. Also lead is water soluble so when it rains it could leech into the water supply.
  12. As far as I can tell they expect you to use the general equation for an elliptic paraboloid [latex]\frac{x^{2}}{a^{2}}+\frac{y^{2}}{b^{2}}=z[/latex] Where a and b are the length of the elipsis on the x and y axis respectively. So in this case there are 2 possible equations without more info. [latex]\frac{x^{2}}{6^{2}}+\frac{y^{2}}{12^{2}}=z[/latex] [latex]\frac{x^{2}}{12^{2}}+\frac{y^{2}}{6^{2}}=z[/latex]
  13. I have a paper like that.
  14. Thank you for sharing. Both my father and grandfather were royal arch grand master masons and both died without telling me very much about it. Certainly the fact my father was a mason was only mentioned to me at his funeral.
  15. Doesn't every religion want to take over the world though you're obviously going to have some radicals in any religious organisation? Yes the temple of king Solomon. Don't forget they are a club of religious people who see that temple as a holy place present in most religions and therefore it is the best clubhouse. If the temple was supposedly have been built anywhere else there never would have been a problem they would have just excavated there to see if any remains were left and probably built a temple however a muslim holy place is around that area and so it has become a point of contention since some muslims do not want freemasons excavating and potentially damaging that holy place. That's a more recent thing and most lodges don't have female members. There is however no rules stating women can't join it just happened that most members were men. New members are voted in by secret ballot so I would assume sterotypes against women would have been a factor.
  16. Freemasonry is a men's club which only allows people to join if they believe in a god or gods. None, I am a bit young to join I have been invited a few times though and I am an atheist.
  17. You're highly ignorant of things you know nothing about. Freemasons do not worship Lucifer.
  18. Nobody is forcing you to be social. If you don't want to talk to somebody and you aren't paid to talk to them then you have no responsibility to talk to them. Should they try to talk to you and it would be rude to ignore them you can request they arrange a meeting with yourself at a time that suits you.
  19. Google Earth renders using the Mercator projection of the earth. I'm sure google has reasons for choosing that map for instance it can be folded into a perfect sphere which makes for easy rendering. It is not an accurate map.
  20. You need to find the points of intersection between the function and the circle. In this case the point of intersection is sin(45) which is a recurring fraction.
  21. What career isn't supporting oppression?? Name any career where you aren't working to make the rich richer or keep their place in society.
  22. The interval scale has 8 options e.g. 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7 The ordinal scale has a maximum of 4 and a minimum of 0. Getting 3.44442 points is a posibility.
  23. I'm not here to teach you why one-way functions don't have an inverse. The only way to reverse a one-way function back to the state it was in originally is to remember what state it was in originally. For example the undo button uses arrays. There is no inverse for x^0 etc.
  24. Yeah my old gpu used to do that before it stopped running videos fullstop. A processor will only last a few years if you use the computer alot. It is typical that the first few frame draws won't have that much of an effect but the longer it runs the more the gpu has to play catch up because it isn't processing instructions as fast as normal. The gpu not getting sufficient power can have a similar effect it is made to run in a certain range of voltages so if there is a power supply problem or motherboard problem it can result in lower gpu performance.
  25. It is also possible that the computer is old. When was the last time you replaced the parts?
