  1. I don't know about that but they can test how good your color vision is. https://www.igame.com/eye-test/
  2. Yes there is a minor chance that a virus or some other form of micro-organism could wipe out our species. Certainly a large proportion of the human race is susceptible to illnesses from anywhere due to the number of people traveling around the world. It is a major concern that our reliance on modern medicine prescribing antibiotics when they aren't necessary etc. has resulted in many illnesses we cannot treat. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-3346440/Superbug-resistant-antibiotics-reaches-Europe-Danish-patient-infected-untreatable-form-salmonella-probably-Britain.html http://thewire.in/2016/03/18/who-urges-action-as-threat-of-invincible-super-bacteria-looms-25144/
  3. Yeah I worry about getting old too. There is so many things I had planned to do like travel the world which I may never get to do. Certainly paying rent and work comes before travel. The brain has fairly good memory up until your 60s though unless you have some form of illness.

    Higgs boson

Wasn't a similar topic discussed back in 2012? A photon was used as an example back then where two photons colliding could result in pair production.
  5. I would imagine how the meter was assembled would have an effect they won't all be the same.
  6. Did you have the ph of the water tested too? Water for human consumption needs to be slightly basic with a ph of 7.8. You also need to ask yourself are you the only person locally who appears to be affected? If most people aren't having problems it probably isn't the water and could be a problem with your health.
  7. To highlight various differences in male and female education consider this video. https://youtu.be/bOlpK6Yj5a4 Both people are highly educated but male education tends to lack the same emphasis on interpersonal relationship skills. As a result the man leaves a bad impression when he really only wanted to make his point. This is a problem that many men have with religion having little to do with it.
  8. A persons' gender should not in all honesty affect a given members' reputation. Given the fact that most of the members here live a rather large distance apart. Also a given members' relationship status is generally unknown unless a member advertises it. We will rarely if ever see any of the members here so we have no way of telling if they are catfish. I don't really know the genders of any of the members here. For all I know Elite Engineer could be a woman posing as a man because she doesn't like how women are treated on forums. What I do know however is that schools which educate mostly women tend to place a large emphasis on how a person portrays themselves with major expectations on behaviour.
  9. Did you google it? http://php.net/manual/en/book.snmp.php You can use curl for that too like the youtube video I linked to if your router displays the info on its' page
  10. I'm sure the documentation is on google https://m.reddit.com/r/esp8266/comments/3rnytf/esp8266_arduino_reconnect_on_wifi_loss/ The manufacturer also has documentation on their site http://espressif.com/en/products/hardware/esp8266ex/resources
  11. Would you not use a timer?? Say every 10 seconds if you aren't connected to the router then connect to the router. Such a program is known as a daemon.
  12. Saw a video today about 3d printed magnets with custom magnetic fields. Thought it looked pretty cool.http://www.3ders.org/articles/20160324-revolutionary-3d-printed-magnets-by-correlated-magnetics-can-change-engineering.html
  13. Apparently mac has quick time player preinstalled which has screen record functionality. Otherwise there is ffmpeg.
  14. Things that exist but aren't in general circulation Flying cars, Robots, Self-driving taxi service. Of course you could take the dim approach where we haven't solved the energy crisis and as a result most modern technology has disappeared.
  15. Tells you nothing about how likely it is nowadays to get Measles. My sister acquired the measels before she was vaccinated and was really sick. Don't forget the jab also protects against mumps and rubella.
  16. Was the handed thing not to do with staircases in castles though? Children were taught to be more proficient with their right hand because when attacking a castle the staircases were built in such a fashion as to make attacking easier for right handed people.

  18. You say that but from history I see muslims killing christians killing jews killing muslims killing various sects of the same religion. The real victims at the end of it are the people who don't believe in anything and really just want peace. I think you are exaggerating things a bit you can believe in god but not religion. Doctors etc will always be needed and I am sure there are doctors who don't believe in religion.
  19. As far as I can tell it modifies the useragent for instance in firefox on my phone. I'm after testing it on my server and it gives me. Request Desktop Site Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/534.24 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/11.0.696.34 Safari/534.24 Request Mobile Site Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 4.4.2; en-gb; HUAWEI Y625-U21 Build/HUAWEIY625-U21) AppleWebKit/534.30 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/534.30 Do I just test for the mobile string or is it more complicated than that?? Okay so having looked at https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/Gecko_user_agent_string_reference I need to test for both the mobile and tablet strings. On Chrome I just need the Mobile string they don't differentiate between tablets and mobiles https://developer.chrome.com/multidevice/user-agent. Don't know the stock ios browser string though.
  20. I use the @media queries just fine and I can detect if it is a phone or tablet in php. But there is a way for the phone to be able to switch to desktop site from the options menu and it doesn't do anything on mine.
  21. So on my phone I have the ability to request desktop/mobile site. I can't seem to find a tutorial on how to specify this though. I just make the site responsive so it only has one version.
  22. Well the ESP8266 should be configured to connect to the nearest wifi router so if it is in room 2 it should be connected to the router in room 2. Then to get the data from the router you need to lookup the router's dhcp assignment table which will tell you the mac address and hostname. It is possible to login to some routers in php etc to pass this data into mysql. This video shows you how to do that but depending on how the router was configured it may or may not be possible. What I found was a problem in mine is that my router uses relative urls ../ to javascript files so I had to edit the url using php and put in the router's url.
  23. You're right having looked up the documentation http://rancidbacon.com/files/kiwicon8/ESP8266_WiFi_Module_Quick_Start_Guide_v_1.0.4.pdf it seems to be using 3.3V but that's okay just get a 3.3V voltage regulator. According to http://www.esp8266.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=3587 it does I don't own one myself though. Of course all you need it to do is connect to the nearest wireless router. Then a computer can see what is listed on the network.
  24. There's a paint that does that.
  25. You could use wifi. Each inventory connects to the wifi in the room automatically therefore telling you which room the inventory is in or if it has left the building. http://www.seeedstudio.com/depot/WiFi-Serial-Transceiver-Module-w-ESP8266-p-1994.html In order to run them on an inventory though you will need them battery powered. In order to run them on a battery you need 1. female usb 2. 5 volt voltage regulator 3. battery clip 4. Some wire. As far as the resistors and capacitors go they are completely optional.
