I understand the process but i'm not sure about details as to concentration of sulfuric acid and Im also concerned about the pump and condenser.
I have an allihn condenser but i heard liebigs the way to go.
Use concentrated acid (probably in the 90 % range) and as for the condenser, graham is the best, allihn is in the middle, and liebig is the worst. as for the pump, they are expensive and not necessary. it depends on how much you are planning on making and stuff. if you're just expirimenting at this point, then don't bother with a pump.

Also would a allihn condenser be alright? I know most people suggest liebig condensers but I already have an allihn and I dont want to go out of my way getting one unless I need to.

Would non porous clay work as an alternative for the boiling chips?

Would one of these low-powered vacuums be appropriate for the distillation of nitric acid? And If anyone has any detailed info on this matter could you contact me?
