  1. The OED comes in both book and CD formats. Your choice.
  2. There's one tea plantation in South Carolina, other than that it's imported.
  3. I don't think Americans really understand tea. I asked for a hot cup of tea in a cafe in Florida and the waitress heated up an iced tea in the microwave for me. I thought it was a very odd flavour and she just thought i was very odd. Japanese green tea is the best green tea IMO, but nothing beats a good cup of strong Indian tea with milk. Although Tibetan tea with a knob of Yaks butter is close.
  4. Actually you are both confusing two issues and wrong on a point of fact. Evolutionary theory is not concerned with the origin of life, it is a theory of the development of life. This is an apparently frequent misconception of creationists and other morons. As for their being no proof concerning the origin of life. You are again mistaken. It has not been proven how life originated but scientists have gathered indicative evidence. As such to hold up a theory of divine intervention as being at the same level of reasonableness as scientific theories of abiogenesis simply shows that you do not understand these matters.
  5. An age differential in itself is not a problem. But dating girls as young as 15 would be a problem. That is just too young. Why don't you relax and stop worrying and planning this so much and just go out and try and meet someone you find you really like?
  6. That is fine, but don't plan this matter too carefully. Love is not something that can be planned like a career, it is a natural, unpredictable thing. Dating a teen girl is fine, but below 15 sounds too young to me. Such a girl is too young, immature both physically and mentally. I think 18 or 19 is better age. Why don't you go to Taiwan and have some fun with the girls, gain some experience, then come back and be in a better positon to judge when considering real love and relationships?
  7. In that case there is no need to hurry or worry too much. Rather than concerning yourself about whether a girl has a good character you should just relax and have some fun. Have some experience with some girls without worrying about romantic love. Then start to think about finding a good girl to have a serious relationship with. Once you have had some experience it will be a lot easier to know when a girl is being honest with you. That is right if you are looking for a serious relationship. Firstly i would recommend that you simply have some fun with girls you don't want a relationship with. Then you will be much better able to judge whether a girl i right for you. The thing is not to worry or think too much about it. Thinking only makes things harder in this matter. Go out, have some fun, then consider looking for a proper partner. That is the correct order of things. It will prevent you being at a disadvantage when you are considering whether a girl is suitable or not for a serious relationship.
  8. You may think it is better for your first love to be an inexperienced girl, you may think a Korean girl would be best, but your first love can not be planned. Love is not something that can be planned and prepared, it is something that happens too you, sometimes at unexpected times and with very unexpected people. If you think a conservative Korean girl would be good for you then go there and try and meet them, but don't let that blind you to the possibility of meeting another girl at another time and place. She might not meet the criteria that you had planned, but she might be the one to make you happy. I didn't know that about Taiwanese girls, i can understand your concern. Being deceived in love is a very serious and painful thing and you are right to be cautious of developing feelings for a girl who is not honest and thus hurts you. The way to avoid this is to listen to your instincts. Do you feel in your heart that she is a good, sincere person or do you just find her attractive? If you trust your instincts you should be able to avoid most difficulties. Are you looking for a serious relationship or just to have fun? If you have never had a serious relationship with a girl you might just want to have some fun with a few girls who you know you are not going to be serious with and then look for a serious relationship. Get some experience of your own and then become more serious about long term plans.
  9. And it's still a good question.
  10. I can understand that, but take my word for it, if you ignore a girl because she is not a virgin you could be making a big mistake and missing out on being with some one special. There are a lot more important things in a girl than whether she is a virgin. When you start looking for a serious relationship you should trust your instincts as to the girls character. Do not think too much abut whether she is lying aboout her sexual experiences. Thinking too much in these matters is a bad mistake. Thinking only complicates and causes problems, instead trust your instincts, they are a lot smarter than you might realise. Stigmatised means to be looked down upon and considered inferior. To avoid this girls may reasonably decide to lie about their sexual experiences. I was aware that Japanese and Korean girls are generally socially quite conservative. But that doesn't mean that they can't discretely do things that would be done more openly in other societies. To paraphrase. Don't spend time worring about whether a girl is more experienced than you or not. Simply trust your instincts as to whether you like and care for her. If you do then go for it, otherwise walk away. But don't think about it too much. This is one subject where thinking isn't any use. It's a matter of instinct not intellect.
  11. Are you sure about this, how do you know it? Perhaps you have answered your own question here. Women can be stigmatised if they have a number of sexual partners, perjorative terms such as 'slut' and 'whore' are used. As such it seems reasonably obvious why many women would wish to downplay the level of experience they have.
  12. In basic training in the British army recruits are taught that in dealing with people in fraught situations they should always remove their sunglasses. Apparently the lack of eye contact resulting from wearing the glasses makes the person not wearing the glasses less co operative and more likely to become aggressive.
  13. A good intake of vitamins will help maintain your immune system but i think it is an exaggeration to claim that flu can be reduced to one night. Perhaps you are confusing flu with colds?
  14. In terms of removing bacteria from the body showers are more effective than baths, where you are simply wallowing in your own filth.
  15. How do you go about 'Carb loading' and what would be the problem if the carbs weren't all used up, also why is rice better? i like pasta so this worries me
  16. Coquina has made a very important point. If you want to build up muscles and fitness exercise alone is not enough. Your muscles need time after the exercise in which to respond to the workout and grow stronger. Simply exercising with no days of will not result in greater fitness. After a heavy workout you should allow the tired muscles at least one day and preferably two days of recovery time. Just remember, recovery time is as important to muscle development/fitness as the exercise itself.
  17. Hungary I sincerely hope not, you distasteful person.
  18. There is no difference, therefore no distinction can be made.
  19. Well he is dead. Also he was a fine astronomer, it's just when he got on the subject of evolution that he made a fool of himself. Which just goes to show that even very clever people can be very stupid. By the way, i think his science fiction was weak, poor charactarisations, over simplistic dealing with emotional and moral problems and a very naive world view with scientists as the oracles of wisdom.
  20. Creationism is a mental disease. By definition all creationists are insane. They should be locked up in lunatic asylums and not released until cured.
  21. It is tangental as i never denied the existence of the different sub species of humans such as Neanderthals. The hominid family is a one off. That sounds fairly unlikely. A stoneage world war?
  22. If you bothered to read my post you will see that i did not rant or try and make out that the US system sucks. You will see that i wrote that the American system has its strong points but also weaknesses. Conversely i acknowledged that Europe has economic weaknesses but also it has strengths. That's called considering all the aspects of a situation. The opposite of ranting or leaping to simplisitic conclusions. As nothing in my position can reasonably be called extremist and i haven't attempted to demonise any other views that is a peculiar comment. Rather than leaping to incorrect judgements without bothering to actually consider what has been posted you might want to actually read and try to understand other posts. Who knows, you might actually learn something.
  23. You're arguing at a tangent. I never denied the humanity of Neanderthals. The fact remains that human only arose the once and are a biological freak, atypical species. The probability of them arising again if they became extinct is next to nothing. Convergent evolution can be seen in many niches, but not in humanities niche.
  24. That is not what i said at all. I stated that Europe has some problems but also some strong points. I also pointed out that whilst the USA has some strong points it also has some problems. That is a perfectly valid response to your opening which explictly compared the economic performance of Europe and the USA. Incidentially your understanding of the European nations economies seems highly simplistic. European nations are not pursing any 'socialist ideal' and they are perfectly aware that money needs to be earnt before it can provide taxes. The idea that everyone in Europe is 'taxed to the gills' is absurd and you seem to be disproving your own argument when you ask why companies haven't been closing and moving to America. Is is unfortunate that you are arguing from a position of ill informed sterotype rather than informed reason. I had expected better from you.
