Her fiction sucks so i never bothered to read her non-fiction. Maybe i'll give it a look. Any suggestions?

Actually i do know something about both countries. Do you know what the word 'Paranoid' means? Ever heard the phrase 'Conspiracy theorist'? The Secularist army seeking to protect Kemel Ataturks ideals acted with force. That's nothing to do with America. Blaming America for all your problems is a sign of inadequacy. Get a sense of perspective. America doesn't care less about the tobacco growing in Turkey, much less go to the bother of arranging a Junta to take over because of it. The Juntas and repeated army interventions in Turkey were internal Turkish problems. Blaming them on outsiders is feeble. This is nonsense. Anti-American prejudice based on envy and unsubstantiated paranoid fears about 'growing addicted populations (sic)'. America is powerful, but not that powerful. Why did you put 'Saying "Turkey hates us"' in quotation marks? Putting something in quotation marks which is not a quote is wrong, it is deliberately misleading and dishonest. Don't do it. No one in this thread has suggested that Turkey or Turks in general hate anyone. As no one has suggested anything about Turks hating anyone that statement makes no sense. You will have noted that Western leaders, including George W Bush have gone out of their way to state that they do not hate Arabs or Muslims and that people should not blame Arabs and Muslims for the actions of a unrepresentative few terrorist. Rather than blaming every ill in the world on America the more mature response is to allocate responsibilty where it belongs, even if that means having to accept some responsibility for your own problems. Seeking to blame everything on outsiders like the Americans is childish.

The earth's core is hollow? (Big bang and bubbles III)

The reason that people do not realise that outerspace is a swirling glass of water is because it isn't. All observation clearly shows that outer space is a vacuum. Just because something swirls doesn't make it a mini-galaxy or worm hole. -
The great majority of cancer cases occur later in peoples lives, people younger than 35 will only very rarely develop cancer. In pre modern times most people would have already died before they had reached 35. As such it is clear that a large part of the increase in cancers is due to the increase in life expectancy. Other causes of death being eliminated. Modern diet isn't perfect but can only be directly linked to a proportion of cancers, even if peoples diets were perfect the rate of cancers would still rise with the general increase in life expectancy.

Well the people of Quebec choose not to seperate at the last referendum so they probably do have a pretty good idea off what it would have cost.

That sounds like an incredibly bad idea. Don't take chances with something like this. If you are hurt in an accident you could easily find yourself facing a bill of thousands of dollars. People lose their homes because they haven't taken out health insurance when they go travelling. Without health insurance a car accident could mean the loss of your home. For the sake of the £200 or so needed to get cover it really isn't worth the risk.

That's not true America must go because America is 'too strong'? That doesn't make any sense. It seems to be irrational resentment based on envy.

Darth Tater choose to base part of his argument on personal experience, stating intimate knowledge of homeless people having even shared meals with them 'many times'. If he wants that argument to be taken seriously he has to back it up with some corroborating detail, a bald assertion on its own is inadequate and leaves me doubting his statement.
-
It's possible to form a judgement on the basis of the posts a person makes. From the posts you have made concerning homeless people it seems highly unlikely that you have shared many meals with homeless people. If you wish you could back up your bald assertion, otherwise i shall retain my doubts.

Vegetarian pizza with extra pepperoni is good. You get the best of both worlds.

That's too much of a sweeping statement. That may be one part of the purpose of government but not its sole purpose. Some firms in some countries are. And you think this would be an unalloyed good thing? There are internal barriers to trade inside countries, even the USA. Just look at the restrictions on the banking sector. 200 years? What history books have you been reading? There are trees in my garden older than that. 200 years isn't a long time, it's hardly a chapter in a history book. Most countries have a much, much older history than a mere 200 years. You really think that Mongolia, Peru, France, Iceland, Papua New Guinea, Afghanistan and the USA are going to come together in one homogenous mush? That humans will abandon the basic political unit? That Americans will dump the stars and strips and never play the star sprangled banner again? That the Japanese will abandon their culture and Emperor? That Saudi Arabia will embrace 'Western Culture'? There is more to human nature than economics, even if abolishing all nations were to be good for economies. (which is a highly unlikely theory as small nations tend to do better than larger nations).

Not wishing to be rude, but judging from your previous posts about homeless people that doesn't seem likely.

As MRSA is not genetically engineered and has anything at all to do with genetic engineering what is your point?
-
That is a silly idea. The nation state is a natural political unit. The world is not.

can humans live beyond 100 years-evidence....

If the ageing process is slowed or reversed it could lead to people having more years of good health before they become frail. Middle age being extended up to 100 would greatly improve peoples quality of life. -
To summarise, he seems to be arguing that politics should be kept out of justice. I agree. For all the imperfections that may exist in a judical system, political intervention will generally be a cure which is worse than the disease and it is a slippery slope, esp as governments have a great habit of interfering and extending their grasp in all circumstances. The price of liberty is eternal vigilance, and that means watching the politicians.

You don't have the right to demand anything of me, especialy you don't have the right to demand respect. This is a public discussion forum, i belong here just as much as anyone else. Don't you understand the concept of a public forum? If you wish to carry out a private discussion with Sayonara then use the PM service, all public postings you make are open to the public for comment and discussion. As to bickering with you, this is a discussion forum. People put forward different ideas and present reasoning, evidence and logic to back them. If you find that too hard then you need to reconsider whether you want to continue with your posting. I note that you haven't been able to response to any of the objections make to your ideas, either by me or my felow forum members. -

Christ Slave, get over the martyr complex. No one here dislikes you or attacks you because you profess to be a Christian. Your posts are attacked because they are illogical, poorly argued, irrational and deluded. Elves and dinosaurs living in a bubble under the surface of the Earth. This idea backed up with pictures of a Sturgeon. Claims of superiority over the philosophers and thinkers of 2000 years ago backed up with analogues of Cosmic Chickens and Christ Dogs. Drivel about Atlantis and searchs at the North Pole for tunnels to the big bubble which is apparently a vacuum and exerts pressure and has things living in it. How can you expect anyone to take you seriously? -

No, if its neutral or mildly negative it will wither away, example:appendix... No. I'm afraid you really misunderstand how evolution works. Evolution has no foresight at all. It does not know what will be beneficial in the future. Only things/traits, that are immediately beneficial will grow/remain. If it is neutral or negative it will disappear. The complex things that exist all evolved step by step with each and every step being beneficial in itself. Dawkins is a fine scientist. He can come across as unpleasant, arrogant or fanatic, but his science is good. -

You've never heard of the concept of 'wealth creation'? Economics is not a zero sum game.
