  1. Also, tablets tend to be better for giving precise measures. With aerosols, factors such as length of time holding breath and the strength of the drawing in of air can affect the level of absorbtion into the body.
  2. Canadianpoet, first of all you say that you think religion is made up to comfort peple, then you say you beleive that when you die your soul goes to some kind of paradise. Some contradiciton surely?
  3. This point has already been dealt with, the US may have done some dumb things but it never funded the Taliban.
  4. I see what you were getting at. But legally he's still pretty screwed, even under his own laws that sort of thing was pretty naughty.
  5. Time travelling big game hunters and dinosaurs relaxing at the local swimming pool. Problem solved.
  6. I suppose the ultimate victory against ecology would be when the last man turns the shotgun on himself.
  7. I've read Michael Moores books, not yet seen his movies so i can't directly comment on them. However, i have found with his books that whilst he is entertaining and raises some very valid points he has a tendency to over reach the evidence. He very selectively uses opinion polls to try and create a view of US culture and beliefs but does so in an obviously selective misleading manner. And some of his assertitions regarding the reasons to do with the overthrow of the Taliban ( gas pipelines apparently) are just totally disconnected from reality. A fascinating man, who has helped raise important issues, esp concerning the links between big business and government, but over excitable and not completely reliable.
  8. Just as limiting as describing yourself as a member of a group is labeling someone else. It's all too easy to blithy dismiss someone with an airy 'he's just a pink' or ' typical neo con'. It's a lot easier to name call than it is to seriously engage with someones ideas.
  9. ''The BBC reports that British archeologists and members of the Military are trapped in underground caves in Mexico. Flash flood waters nearly drown the men and Mexican authorities are called in to rescue them. The British refuse the help of Mexican authorities and demand to be rescued by their own Military. Mexican President Vicente Fox was unaware that any members of the British Military were in his country and he needed answers. Were the men looking for underground shelters in case of a large asteroid impact? '' What use an underground shelter in limestone caves prone to flooding several thousand miles from home base? Apply Occams razor. Be a bit more discriminating about your sources and evidence, then your arguments might be taken seriously.
  10. The 'homo' in homophobia does not mean man, it means 'the same as', as in homogenous. As such homophobia is fear of the same, not fear of men. I say Julius Caesar and Augustus are believed to have been lovers, because of the well documented facts of high level Roman gay relationships are openly established, and they behaved in a well recorded manner towards each other in accordance with that type of relationship. No eyewitness accounts of what they actually did behind closed bedroom doors, but i think that's asking for too much.
  11. You've just mentally scarred me. The image in my head!
  12. The war argument won't cover the dropping of chemical weapons on civilians, that's outlawed even in war time. 'Kurds invaders' ? Just where were they invading?
  13. Cut teachers pay and reduce the number of idiots teaching.
  14. I think a fair analogy is that of analogue as opposed to digital. The cells relicate and gradually aquire mistakes and flaws so over time the information degrades, just like in an analogue system, what we need are digital bodies!
  15. I'll sleep better tonight knowing that whoever wins in November, it'll be a Skulls and Bones frat boy. And to think i was getting a bit worried.
  16. That looks like such an obviously good idea why doesn't everyone have one? Whats the catch?
  17. Do the twist again like we did last summer?
  18. Homosexual lovers in Rome were not always slaves. It is believed that Julius Caesar and Augustus were at one point lovers. Both at the very top of the social scale with no deingration involved.
  19. There is a type of flower that faces the sun as it moves across the sky. If you twist the plant pot the flower twists back to face the sun, if the pot is twisted too far the flower head can twist right round itself, snap and drop off. Unfortunately i can't remember it's name, a type of daisy i believe, i'll try and dig up the details.
  20. The criminal code under Sadaam Hussien outlawed crimes such as murder. A simple charge of murder under Iraqi law could do, with regards to the gasing of the Kurds. I don't see any legal defence he could make against that other than to argue that as president he was above the law. It appears he believes he is and was, i doubt a court would agree.
  21. US politics may be about corporate money and excluding 3rd parties but that doesn't actualy make the US a monarchy. Anyway monarchys aren't all bad!
  22. Genetically modified ones might. Humour aside, my point is that such a prosperous and well ordered society as Sweden will not face the same stresses as a society like Israel. That makes the difference in political processes interesting when they have a similiar political constutition.
  23. Aeroguy, i'm not saying that you like abortions or that you are claiming that consciousness 'turns on' at 24 weeks. I did read your post quite carefully. But you did state that the foetus is not really a fully conscious human being at 24 weeks. I'm simply querying that statement as some babies have been born before 24 weeks and survived which seems to raise a moral problem here. I agree that a 1 day old embryo isn't conscious and that the 'morning after' pill and better education are helpful in reducing unwanted pregnancies and abortions. What i'm concerned about is the point at which we start recognising an embyro as a human, you did state that at 24 weeks the embryo is not really a conscious human being, if your opinion is based on respect for the law then fine, but you didnt initially make that clear.
  24. Sad that some people can't see a joke that's about as obvious as a 10 ton elephant.
