  1. I guess thats why you are a Quark and I am a dyslexic Leprechaun
  2. Tricky, Now I've started this I have found a torch that does the job so rather than reinvent a wheel I'll just buy one. See http://www.frost.co.uk/item_Detail.asp?productID=9381&frostProductName=Miniature+Inspection+Light&catID=18&subCatID=21&FrostCat=Electrics&FrostSubcat=Miscellaneous Many thanks Bernard
  3. YT, Thank you for the suggestions - a slight change in design should do the trick. I'm also now looking at "flexi tube" instead of a rigid tube. Kind regards Bernard
  4. I am trying to make a small hand held torch with the light being emitted from the end of a thin, slightly bent, tube. To keep the weight down I am using ordinary rechargable batteries. There are several small bulbs available but they all seem to have "screw in" fittings. I would like some that just push in (like the ones in a car dashboards). Can anyone suggest any sources please? Bernard
  5. Layman, Are you just concerned with how many types there are or are you also considering the amount of energy it takes to produce them? Ethanol - I've seen a Drag Bike powered by Apples. Hybrid Car - By the time a well know model is produced from raw material through refinement onward to manufacture and delivery to dealerships it has done quiet a lot of damage before it is even driven. Associated. I have a 30 year old 4x4 "Jeep" which I am comfortable with as it has does high miles per gallon and has not had to be scrapped/replaced (so far). In 30 years I estimate I would have switched vehicles at least 5 times. HTH B

    Magnets

I'm new here so please excuse me if this is in the wrong section. Is this true? Is there a simple tool/method to measure any loss which can be acturatly reproduced over time e.g. every 6 months? I have been told that magnets loose their strength with use. I've used one in my tool box for sometime and it still seems as powerful as when I first got it. Any help with this will be very much appreciated. Bern Tewkesbury (That's not an instruction)
