If there is a legitamate fear that that would happen, there needs to be an equal fear that the Bush administration would rig it so it doesn't happen. Paranoia = The sum of all fears.

Iraq had no affiliation to any terrorist group. If you have evidence to the contrary please provide it. This war was planned about 13 years ago, the whole senerio was planned 13 years ago, this has nothing to do with terrorism, saddam's regime, oil, or protection. I am going to say the following, out of love and respect for my country, because our mission is just; our way of carrying out that mission is not. This war is about one nation, under god, with liberty and justice for all. America has layed the foothold to control the world. There is nothing anyone can do about it EXCEPT the American people. There is no exit strategy for Iraq, we needed a reason to go into Iraq to lay the foundations for our military bases in order to have more military control over the world. America is not conquering the world, but it is forcfully controlling it. With four major bases that we now have in Iraq we are in a position to bring stability to the middle east in ways we could not before. With the help of our four major bases in Afganastan we can also be in position to have better access to the eastern parts of the world. We can now control and protect the oil pipeline. The evidence is now becoming more and more clear. I could unfold the evidence out for you in a way that might allow you to actually see for yourself what I am talking about, but it would take me weeks. I do not have the time, nor is there enough room on this message board to outline it. The evidence is there, but you will have to research it yourself. I suggest a documentary recently released (and very hard to find in America) called Hijacking Catastrophe. the documentary is funded by Americans, the evidence is layed out by Americans, but the film was not made or aired in America. This war is not about terrorism, this war is about an American military world police and control over the worlds resources and actions. Now lets assume this is true, is it a bad thing? Well it really depends, the world does severly need a global policing system, but America alone in the control, I dunno. America is a great and compassionate country, our ultimate goals are freedom, survival, world peace, stability and progression. However we have ultimately changed ourselves just over the past few years and that scares me. The patriot act strips Americans of their privacy while it gives the governing body justifiable secrecy. This could be very bad. The thing that you have to remember here is since WWII, America has built the ultimate military machine, our military is so powerful that the entire world could amass their military and ours would nearly match it. The next step in our evolutionary process is inevitable, A single world order. How we achieve that is a different story, we can develop a world order through patience, time, peace, compromise, relation, structure, cooperation and proper planning. Or we can do it through force and warfare. I have a prediction that the unstability this plan has caused will be it's destruction and possibly the destruction of our great country. There is not a world power that can destroy America, but the unstability that this plan will cause will in turn cause America to deconstruct from within, unless we Americans stand up and do the right thing. We need to strip George W. Bush from presidancy, remove the administration from office, send them to trial for war crimes and we need to complete the mission in a peaceable way, without secrecy, and with the cooperation of the world.

Even when I was a blind supporter of the war a while back, it was always obvious this was never the truth. Demo, I used to have close to the same perspective as you on this war, so I understand where you are coming from. It's kinda funny my mind began changing when I cancelled my cable because they jacked up my cable bill. So for entertainment I starting checking out educational films at the college I attend. I have been exposed to enough evidence to see how unjust this war is, and its the kind of evidence you won't see here in America. Probably because it is considered unpatriotic. The way I see it, I care for my country, I care for the soldiers oversea's, I care about the American people, and I care about the human race. To not open your mind to the possibility that our fears have been preyed on, lies have been told to us, and this war has nothing to do with terrorism or saddam's regime or faulty intelligence, is the only thing unpatriotic.

We are hurting people and blowing things up, so why are we doing the greater good and they are terrorists? There are terrorists in Iraq, the people who behead innocent civilians and suicide bombers are among them, but their numbers are very insignificant compared to the 200,000 people we are fighting against. I'm just saying if we mark all 200,000 people fighting against us as terrorists because it makes us feel better about what we are doing in Iraq than we are not facing the reality of the situation. You said they are not fighting for a nation and we are fighting terrorists, But probably less than 1% of the people we are fighting in Iraq fall into the definition of 'terrorist'. Don't be fooled by the notion that the war is over against Saddam's regime. We are still very much fighting the Iraqi army, we are fighting civilians-turned soldiers, we are fighting civilians, we are fighting soldiers and civilians from other countries in the area and yes we are fighting terrorists. And they are fighting not only us but Iraqi's as well, it is a very complex situation.

Allowed by whom? It's their country they should be free to do as they please with their country and their government. If they want to allow Iraqi's outside of the country to vote in their election nobody has the right to tell them that's not allowed. imho.

1) I got bit by a German Shepard in the face when I was 5 years old, his teeth went through my cheek and I remember feeling his teeth grinding against my teeth, Completely tore the skin from the crevise in my lip up to my cheek bone. Thats where I got my big mouth from. The upper part of his teeth caught me on the hard part of my nose between my eyes, 118 stitches total to sew my cheek back together and my nose. 2) Broken rib in car accident, rebroke it 6 mos. later skiing. 3) Last but not least, doctor had to stick a needle underneath a spider bite a few months ago to numb it to cut it open. The idea was if he numbed it, it wouldnt hurt when he cut it open... well that part was true, but sticking the needle under it to numb it was the most excrutiating pain I have ever felt. I would have rather he just cut it open without numbing it.

Have you ever considered the possibility that most of the people who we label terrorists are people just like you and me who have chosen to join these terrorist groups as it is the only military organization in Iraq they can join to defend their country? Yes the leaders of these groups are generally terrorists, the actions you see on T.V. represent a select few members of these organizations, but not all the followers of these groups are 'terrorists', or they might not have been until the occupation.

Ahh okay, thanks for correcting me in my thinking then. It really doesn't have anything to do with it being wrong, imo. I used the word affection meaning all levels of affection, his response was to a particular type of affection, I simply replied to the level he was discussing. The original comment was meant at all levels of affection though. Currently there is a bill floating around for the state of Idaho to ban same sex marriage, however it goes one step further to ban same sex coupling all together. I do not know a whole lot about it as I just heard about it last night, but I will see if I can dig up some information after I get out of class today.

You say bad behavior is inescapable, then you follow by saying once we realize and accept it we can find ways of behaving decently. That sounds like a contradiction unless I am misunderstanding you. Your right it cannot be wished away. As far as recognizing the problem, I think the world does, us folks in America seem to be the only ones having a hard time seeing it. Our media plays a huge role in that, when we watch the news we only hear about the American lives lost, we rarely hear about the Iraqi civilians who have died, we do not hear about the fighters against us in Iraq, we hear about a handful of extremists who do terrible things. We do not hear about the man who is fighting against us using all the elements of our standards of "proper warfare''. In the minds eye of Americans anyone in Iraq that is fighting against us is a terrorist. So if I was an Iraqi and my son was killed by a stray bullet, and I picked up a gun to protect my wife and kids would I then too become a terrorist? We are shooting first and asking questions later and alot of good human beings are losing their lives. Now I am not saying there are no terrorists in Iraq, there obviously are, however most of the people we are killing are not terrorists, and it is at that point we need to ask ourselves, what is the message that us Americans (and suprise! it is not just Americans) are sending to the world? I think about the world and it's ways, then I think about change... we are not progressing any ideals for the human race here, we are going backwords.

Well actually I did mean by societies, particularly religious societies. But if I am wrong in thinking that please explain. I didn't know that, I knew diseases could be spread more easily through anal intercourse, but I didn't know why. But you have to consider the fact that the ratio of men having anal intercourse with women is probably close to the same as men with men, if not more and I would imagine the risks are the same. (speculation) I know what you mean, I was a teenager not too long ago, I am not really sure what makes teenagers so hateful against groups of people who are different from themselves. It is a problem in our society and probably needs to be addressed more. Nah, they are questions designed more to make people think about why they 'feel' a certain way about certain groups. More along the lines of questions to ask yourself before you pass judgements. But thanks for sharing your answers to a few of them.

I would hope and expect the same from religious parents as well, for the same reasons. This is actually where the problem is. Throughout history any sort of same sex affection has been considered wrong. We have to ask, why has it been considered wrong for so long? What is the reasoning behind it? The only reference I know of that has considered it wrong are biblical entries. What determined it was wrong? Was it because it had been known to cause some form of ailment or was it the teachings of priests? Why in today's culture is it so widely believed to be wrong? Why do kids dislike gays? why would they tease other kids if their parents were gay? Why would parents continue to teach scriptures in the bible that say its wrong, as it would only teach them dislike and/or discomfort in the presence of gay people? I guess what I am saying is, I don't see how any one could look at it as gays are the problem when it is clear that our cultural beliefs are the problem. P.S. Don't tell the guys at the aryian nation camp thats up the street from my house that I wrote this. I might get 'hanged'. (j/k we ran them out of town a few years back) Funny story about that too, since many are interested in them. When I tell people I live in N. Idaho, the first question I get asked is... oh you live by the aryian nations? Then they would go on about them, its funny... everyone out of state seemed to know more about them than I did... Well if you don't, they had a camp up here in N. Idaho, they did annual protests about once a year displaying their hatred for blacks and gays and whoever else they were mad at. They did a march through downtown, I would say there were about a 100 of them. They had a 'base' I guess you would call it, most of them lived there and worked there... they had a huge complex, I would guess probably about 20-30 rooms and they had about 30 or so acres. Their property was completly gated off and they had guards with semi-automatic weapons out front at all times. Anyways a lady and her daughter were driving down the road by their property when her mini-van backfired, the guards shot at her vehicle as they thaught they were being shot at (I think it was 9 rounds or something). No one was injured, but the court banned them from the state of Idaho. (Sorry whoever got them, not our problem anymore ) Somehow a few of them were able to remain, among them the was their leader Richard Butler. He ran for mayor last year, it was a big ordeal, but in the end he only got like 7 votes... He died a few months later. Anyways sorry to stray off topic.

What about the death of a star? What kind of advantages are gained by the universe when a star dies?

What is the differences in appearances in the many different ethnic groups of today caused by? And could this have any connection with possible interbreeding at this point in history when all the other species vanished?

Your absolutly right, I would not respect his human rights. But lets back up here. We are in their country, killing their people, in his position would you not do what you could to defend your country and your people?

This seems to be a leading theory, but as you said it is debated. Some questions I would like to know the answer to: 1. Has any evidence of any kind of slavery been suggested? 2. With the recent findings of the 'hobbit people', does that up the count of homonid species to 18? or are they considered part of an existing species? And these ones, which is open to opinion: 3. Doesn't it seem to make sense that interbreeding was a major part of the extinction of all these other species when you look at the differences in genetic makeup of modern humans? 4. Is it possible that our genetic makeup just overtook theirs in interbreeding and we became the dominant species?

Can you back this up? I highly doubt this is even remotely close to true. Oops, we accidently killed 100,000 innocent civilians, sorry about that. And after that limited time there will be more terrorists in the world than before we went there. (Speculation, I cannot back that up) Yes, I agree 100%. However you fail to mention how much more of that pain we are causing. I used to think that too. I slept alot better back then, sure is true when they say ignorance is bliss.

Well, I guess it's a matter of opinion, but also it depends if we are talking about a solution to us winning or a solution to us making the world a better place overall. I would tend to agree with the former, and disagree with the latter.

A human being is a human being, plain and simple. Torture, and cruel forms of interragation are inhumane, plain and simple. Yes a terrorist is a murderer, but do you really think the solution to the problem is stooping to their level? America is really a compassionate and caring country, most Americans really do want to make the world a better place. But America has also recently suffered a great blow from 9/11. Right now it seems to me that most of my countrymen feel that revenge and payback, and the "we need to take them out before they hurt more people" mentality is the right thing. I must admit as an American, after being hit in such a manner, thinking about the children, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, friends and family to many people on board those planes, or in those buildings, makes me very angry that someone could do such things and think it is okay. Its sick, but really can you say that what we are doing to the people in Iraq isn't? How many innocent civilians have been killed by off-target bombs, or stray bullets. or whatever? These are also someones children, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, friends or family members. Is it logical to think that we will ever win a war on terrorism in this fashion? How could it be? We are only breeding more hatred against the US, and the sad thing is, we are breeding it in our own country as well. Many Americans are disgusted by our countries actions. Yes Saddam needed to be taken out of power, but look at what we have done to the country... over what 52 people? Don't we have snipers in the American military anymore? Simple fact, America has killed more innocent civilians in the last 3 years than all the terrorist groups combined. How can you justify that as working for the greater good? *edit* Also I wanted to add, we say these people are terrorists, and yes many of them are. But how many of these people that have joined these groups are really terrorists? We have made them terrorists. Picture this: You live in a country that is not wealthy and does not have a strong army. Your leader is an asshole and kills innocent people, most of your country hates him but there is not much anyone can do because he does control and rule the country. You are a small time farmer or merchant or something of that nature, you work very hard everyday to keep food on the table and a roof over the head of your family. Your family consists of you and your wife, your 3 teenage sons and your younger daughter. Your family is very close and works together to help one another and help the family in anyway they can to keep the unit strong. Now picture a superpower decides they want to take out your leader and 'help' your country. You would be unsure about this because a) yes you do want the leader removed, but b) you are worried about any war in your country and the safety of your family. A few months down the road while making a trip to town for supplies your wife and daughter get killed by stray bullets or an off-target bomb. In reaction your sons take up arms and join a terrorist group to fight against the people who killed their mother and sister. Soon after they all get killed in a raid by the superpower against terrorists. Now your whole family has been killed, how much would you like that superpower?
