  1. Ignorant possibly, since i am openly asking for you to back up your assertions, stupid would indicate something else. It is a fact that all humans can be traced back genetically to a specific place in africa. I happen to be predominantly one of your purported subspecies, I'd like to know how you can back up that assertion with a little something other than baseless assertions based on skin color..
  2. Can you give some genetic indication or evidence of human subspecies? All humans are the same species and part of the same gene pool and flow.
  3. Noman Doige the huckster? There would seem to be a slight slant to his halo! http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2015/02/08/the-neuroplasticity-bait-and-switch/ http://mhconcierge.com/critical-review-of-some-of-the-more-extreme-claims-about-neuroplasticity/ http://greatergood.berkeley.edu/article/item/can_wishful_thinking_heal_your_brain https://www.ucl.ac.uk/medical-education/publications/reprints2009/2009-Psychologist-ReviewOfDoidge-BrainThatChangesItself.pdf There are more... I also take exception that only white men have benefited, Any color or gender or place where methodological naturalism replaces mysticism reaps the same rewards...
  4. Yes, that would be my point... Once the west put aside mysticism and went for science the west blossomed. The mystics continued to stagnate. It's a matter of what works and what does not... I disagree, name something based on mysticism that works. Energy as described in eastern philosophy is nonsense and has no basis in reality. Energy as you describe being used on the brain is not mysticism, it is evidence based, no mystic ever discovered ultrasound or used it. Saying that western methodology is based on white men is not what is going on. Men have dominated philosophy in both the east and west, The western ideas simply worked, women are far more likely to have rights in western areas than areas run on mysticism...
  5. So am I, the west has a more evidence based philosophy, the east is more mystical... The difference is that while they have been civilized longer than we have but we adopted a more factual evidence based methodology...
  6. Could it be because science and technology work and mysticism does not?
  7. A great series of videos, relatively new channel, but he is on top of the heap for sure!

Seems like the guy knows what he's talking about but frankly I can't get around his accent thing.

It's a speech impediment, he does do closed captioned on his videos.

  8. Itoero this is what I am talking about... Very interesting video, basically it suggests that dinosaurs were quite a but more of a survivor that we give them credit for. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTpFOrVTDFw
  9. I know that blood is green when you about 30 feet under water...
  10. Did you read my reply about lining up all your ancestors back as far as you want and never being able to point at two and say one is an ape the next one is human? You are trying to introduce a fallacy here, not sure which one, but to look at four skulls and come to that conclusion is simply ignoring reality..
  11. Dragon's egg is a classic, great read, awesome portrayal of aliens..
  12. I'm back! again! Terrible storm, between power surges and exploding transformers I got off easy with just a few burned out appliances. Lots of flooding 15 people dead so far..

Sounds horrific - but glad you and yours are OK. How is the community taking it - pulling together or falling apart

pulling together for the most part. standing water and washed out roads, flooding and down trees are still a problem.

  13. Power went out last night at 21:23, just came back up. Lots of storm debris to clean up, I saw what caused the power to fail, shorted lines just 30 feet or so from my house. Four huge explosions.

Take care mate. Man is helpless in the face of what Nature sometimes brings.

I can't imagine what a serious flood can do but it must be terrible. We had one here 10 years ago but it was nothing compared to what you guys have there.

  14. The back side of the storm is kicking our butts right now, I've been through more than a few hurricanes. Never exactly enjoyed them. As reports keep coming in it looks like my area has taken a big hit, damage to trees and coastal properties. Flooding is very bad...
  15. I spoke too soon, the back side of Matthew is kicking our butts!

  16. Well Matthew is history for me, just a rain event for the most part. It affected inland areas worse than the coast. Lots of rain and flooding, I will not miss Matthew...

  17. It woulk appear that Matthew has faked everyone out, instead of passing off shore it is passing my location inland of me.

  18. Two people have drowned here today in rising flood waters. Not much wind yet but it's raining like a cow pissing on a flat rock...
  19. How bad was it where you are?
  20. Power is fluctuating, I keep getting shut down, transformers are exploding near by. I might log back on in a couple hours if power stays on...

  21. Near where I live this morning! https://www.facebook.com/Carolina.Beach.Today/videos/1294310363952844/
  22. Not sure why you would think this, there were dinosaurs in the polar regions..
  23. well so far it's just hot and humid here, hardly any wind, stifling really.
  24. For some reason over the years just before a hurricane I get extreme bouts of depression. I'm not sure if it's psychological or physiological. Could dropping air pressure before the storm be a connection?
