IDN IA, on my screen it looks like it is much closer than the clouds, the clouds look substantial enough to have at least partially hidden it if it was behind them. But lots of zoom no doubt... From about 0:30 to about 0:50 there are clouds that should have obscured the object if it was behind them.

My computer is so slow it would seem to be a slide show instead of a moving film so it's difficult for me to be sure of it's movement in relation to the background.

I have personally observed ships slowly disappearing over the horizon as they move away, this is indicative of a spherical Earth.
-
When I first saw it I was sure it was just a lenticular cloud http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lenticular_cloud But the film shows it obviously moving against the background. It does have a slight look of separation from the background as though it was added but I can't be sure, it is an odd looking object for sure.

We can't really know anything other than what we observe, how could we? We can theorize about it and see if it matches what we observe but to say anything about things we cannot observe is nothing but speculation.

It's called spontaneous remission njaohnt, it happens in Christians and non Christians, believers and non believers, the belief system of a person has nothing to do with it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spontaneous_remission

What is your justification for believing in a God?
Moontanman replied to Realitycheck's topic in Religion
I would say the two are pretty much the same evidence... nothing more than what some one else believes.. -
What is your justification for believing in a God?
Moontanman replied to Realitycheck's topic in Religion
yes really... Something besides word salad that makes no sense would be nice... None the less it doesn't change the point i made. Please show evidence that christians have more, I've seen a great many things happen that were unlikely and so do people of all other religions or non religious people. -
Where do this links say there is a devil, they just say there are things we don't know yet. Again how does the fact that we don't know everything support the idea of god? We didn't know what caused volcanoes at one time but it didn't prove there was a god. I would take as evidence anything that supports the idea of god, so far all you have done is show things we don't yet know about. That isn't evidence of god. It would be easy to show that god is real, supposedly he did many things in the old testament that would have been proof if they had been documented, stopping the rotation of the earth for a few hours like he did in the bible would be proof.

The big bang and abiogenesis has nothing to do with each other... You need to clarify this, what you wrote makes no sense. Then provide the evidence... the number of people who believe in something ha nothing to do with the reality of it. I once hesitated to go through a green light and in that moment a huge truck roared through the intwersection, if i hadn't hesitated i would be dead right now. -
The concept of the devil was made up by christians, the old testament does not reference such a being. If you think it does feel free to show the passages that say other wise. The videos were quite clear that the devil is not seen in the old testament.

What is your justification for believing in a God?

Yes, many times.... While this is redundant feel free to provide some of that "way more" evidence... -
No in fact it makes your reply seem all the more obtuse... Then you need to elaborate your answer...

You indicated that the translation you use contains no such passage when in fact other earlier translations do indeed contain the passage that wearing clothes made of different types of thread is an abomination even though both 'translations" agree that homosexuality is an abomination the same as wearing clothing made of different types of threads. njaohnt do you not even read your bible?

I can see how this could be true in some persons, blood flow the the penis and mechanisms to prevent the blood from flowing back into the body is what allows the penis to become erect. Aspirin helps increase blood flow, it's why it can help a person who is having a heart attack. In some people due to problems with blood flow to the penis, aspirin could help increase this blood flow if the blood flow is impeded by something that aspirin has an effect on. Since prostrate cancer surgery blood flow to my penis is impaired, unfortunately aspirin doesn't seem to help the blood flow to my penis, yes i tried it, but I see no reason why it couldn't work in some people... it would be interesting to see if aspirin helps increase blood flow to the clitoris, helping the clitoris become erect would allow for better sexual arousal and function in woman as well...

What is your justification for believing in a God?

Coincidences happen to everyone Njaohnt, sinners, saints, pagans, buddhists, serial killers, muslims, jews, atheists, pantheists, mono theists, witches, warlocks, I mean everyone, belief does not enter into it... A miracle is something that cannot have happened via natural means, it does not mean something that happens that was unlikely. Saying that coincidences do not happen to atheists is either stupid or a lie.... -
What if they were simply relating myths they had been told? They have no evidence... just like yours... why would I want to believe in anything that has no evidence? Yeah, it doesn't say the same thing the original does... homosexuality seems to be special for some reason, they always seem to translate that one correctly...
-
All those "other" religions are just as good to believe in because they have precisely the same evidence yours does... Atheism is not a religion... Wearing cloth made of more than one type of thread is the same as being homosexual.... both are an abomination in the eyes of the Lord... The new testament which is the Christian bible was put together around 3 to 4 hundred CE, it was heavily edited and is a compromise of several different concepts of Jesus and God all of which were written well after the life of Jesus. The old testament does not include the concept of the devil. it was made up by Christians to enforce their version of god by threats of punishment. The video i posted shows this to be true and shows that the old testament was edited by Christians around 3 to 4 hundred CE to support the idea of heaven and hell...

What are my probabilities of having a blonde child?
Moontanman replied to paulk27's topic in Genetics
I am thinking that it is not as simple as a "blonde gene" and it would heavily depend on whether or not your mate has the tendency to be blonde. if your mate is blonde I would say there is a very good chance of it, if how ever your mate is not blonde and has no recent blonde ancestors it becomes a bit more iffy... I see no reason to say it's impossible however... -
What is your justification for believing in a God?
Moontanman replied to Realitycheck's topic in Religion
For a moment Jaden consider this, you claim that there is little or no evidence for abiogenesis, while this is simply not true and the fact is that there is a huge amount of evidence for abiogenesis, nothing of course like the evidence supporting evolution via natural selection but consider this. You are hanging your "religious hat" on the idea that there is no natural explanation for abiogenesis and that means that there has to be a god to have created the first cell, what if indeed there is a break through and next week a scientist shows that life can be not only made in a test tube but that the process is so easy that it could have occurred on the early earth no problem what so ever. Are you honest enough to say this confirms there is no god? At one time, just a couple hundred years ago lightning was considered evidence for god, no one knew what caused lightning, it was the wrath of god, if you got struck by lightning it was considered to be evidence you had done something that displeased god. Then is was discovered that a very simple technology could protect you from the wrath of god, there was quite an up roar, religious leaders declared that anyone who used a lightning rod was trying to divert the will of god and was committing a sin. Then of course it was quite difficult to explain why churches were the most likely building in a village to be struck by lighting. Now days of course we know what causes lightning and why it strikes, the idea that lightning was a direct show of gods power is considered quaint and anyone who believes it is considered slightly less than tightly wrapped. Are you honest enough to admit that god doesn't exist if abiogenesis is shown to be possible? -
njaohnt, you do realize that the devil or Satan is a concept completely made up by Christians around 3 to 4 hundred CE don't you?
-
Where does it say the Devil created hell?
-
Yes, total disagreement, how is Christianity any more likely to be true than Islam or the Greek gods or Egyptian gods or Krishna or Adriana? You simply don't have a leg to stand on. Any chance you are not wearing any apparel made of two different kinds of threads? Cotton polyester blend? or any other blend? Edit for grammer
