  1. Sammy you have been given huge amounts of evidence for everything to keep claiming isn't true. You keep misrepresenting science and "what science says" you have used dishonest quote mining, a constant army of strawmen and out right deception to continue to argue things that are easily proven not to be true. You ignore anything you disagree with and you refuse to use the quote system I think to make your answers more confusing than they already are. I again suggest you give the 9th commandment a look.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macroevolution
  2. oops... I love you-tube...
  3. I'm not sure why the idea of us being bred as slaves by aliens has anything to do with us evolving from microbes billions of years ago. The idea is that the aliens came here and found hominids and used them as slaves... No reason i can think of why it couldn't happen, i don't see much reason to assert it though... You have to provide some support for this, i've never heard of it... that is interesting but it is not widely supported...
  4. Fascinating? Lets see... Strawman, evolutionary theory says no such thing... Quite the contrary, there is no evidence of a world wide flood as described in the bible but there is a huge amount of evidence against such a flood, not the least of which are coral, echinoderms, insects, and fresh and salt water fishes... Again, this is a strawman, yet another dishonest move by creationism... hard to get by that pesky 9th commandment aye sammy7?
  5. Not to put too fine a point on it but where do you get that UFOs are only seen at night? Our ancestors? What if they are time travelers from the future? Then there is always the idea, that aliens bred us from hominid stock to mine metals like gold for them.... http://ufo-alien.info/UFO/annunaki-astronauts-from-nibiru-bred-us-to-slave
  6. sammy7, does the 9th commandment not count in your version of the bible? So far in "your other thread" you have been nothing but dishonest, i have pointed it to you several times now... hell fire must not be all that hot...
  7. No transitional fossils sammy7? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_transitional_fossils So i guess a murder cannot be solved because you didn't see it happen. horse feathers sammy7, you make less and less sense... More on transitional fossils... http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/comdesc/section1.html http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/faq-transitional.html http://www.indiana.edu/~ensiweb/lessons/c.bkgrnd.html and an audio/visual about the lies you've been repeating...
  8. Oh i am so wounded.... oh I am so not up with that....
  9. I'm speechless, oh you are so correct... I am sure these assertions are every bit as honest as the next one... Have you heard of the 9th commandment? http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/quotes/mine/part1-2.html Could you possibly be more dishonest? Yes, quote mining, typical creationist tactic, lie by putting a mans own "edited for content" words in his mouth... Absolute dishonesty... sammy, if you are going to argue for creationism, or the idea of a young earth i suggest you watch this and make a list of lies that have already been told...
  10. Yeah "justlostthegame" why don't you do that? Another good one for you sammy7...
  11. One more time, Carbon 14 has nothing what so ever to do with dating dinosaur bones... Get used to it... if you have the evidence then march on, but in your case I'd get used to it... how about figuring out the evidently very complex system here at Scienceforums... use the quote system. on the hope that your public school system has taught you to understand an audio/visual type learning experience...
  12. i will clue you in one more time, Carbon 14 dating is irrelevant to dating dinosaurs. Nothing as old as a dinosaur can be dated via carbon 14... But if you had actually looked into this you would have seen that there are many other ways to date a sample that does indeed accurately give the age of dinosaur bones... I gave you the link for dinosaur bones and collagen, I think you have no intent to discuss anything or give any evidence, so far all you do is make grandiose claims that make no sense what so ever... The collagen in dinosaur bones is unexpected but it does not indicate that dinosaurs lived less than 6,000 years ago, in fact if you had indeed read the link i gave you would have learned something about what is really going on from the scientist who actually found the collagen and the fact that no intact DNA was found. a closed mind is an ugly thing...
  13. http://discovermagazine.com/2006/apr/dinosaur-dna No dinosaur has ever been dated using Carbon 14....
  14. Evidence for speciation... http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/faq-speciation.html
  15. i think i have to agree, even though a sun powered saturation/unsaturation process that allowed animals to breath hydrogen and exhale methane and for plants to take in methane and give off hydrogen is chemically possible. Chemically this would be a close opposite to what happens on the earth, it would be energy deficient compared to an oxygen atmosphere and sequestered hydrocarbons. I think such beings would be in the same "boat" as an underwater intelligence, all dressed up and no way to progress.
  16. I'm not sure i agree with that, a living organism uses catalysts to speed up processes to meet it's energy needs. True that metabolizing hydrogen to create methane isn't as energetic as metabolizing oxygen to create CO2 but organisms do it on or in the earth so we know the chemical pathways are there. How do you heat that air with a stone age technology?
  17. WOW! that sounds a whole lot like religious dogma! I suggest you do indeed go on and on and tell us how the theory of evolution fails and how evidence is brought out only after the fact, (still sounds like religion) please tell us... Absolute dishonesty personified.. This word salad is supposed to mean what? I'm asking for some evidence to back up this "stuff" you assert...
  18. Since oxygen is such a huge part of the universe i am going to have to assume water oceans, possibly an ammonia water mix, and oxygen bound to the elements of the crust. But the atmosphere is reducing, mostly high pressure hydrogen. I say high pressure because a planet large enough to retain hydrogen would probably retain quite a large atmosphere but I am assuming no layers of high pressure ices but a regular crust similar to the earth. The real question here is it possible to produce high energy from a hydrogen atmosphere through some easily discovered natural process like combustion and use that to smelt metals... Electricity is an interesting option... They need to melt and alloy metals to get past the stone age. Extracting metals from ore is called smelting isn't it? If not i misspoke for sure.
  19. That last assertion is problematical to say the least. I've never heard that Atheists try to explain the natural disasters away as human activity putting a strain on the earth. Please show some example of that idea being true and that atheists assert it...
  20. That would be damn convenient wouldn't it? Maybe Gaea is real? I think it's inevitable that at some point a devastating event will happen, probably inevitable that some psychic will be there to say I told you so too. So many people consistently predict some apocalyptic event is going to happen that eventually one of them will be correct...
  21. The flat out dishonesty of the religious right is terrifying, their willingness to restrict the rights of others, the constant fight for power over everyone.... all that is predictable...
  22. Would hypothetical intelligent creatures on a world with an extensive hydrogen atmosphere, no oxygen, these creatures would metabolize hydrogen and exhale methane, would these creatures be able to smelt iron, could a hydrogen atmosphere produce an energy source like an oxygen atmosphere does for us? I imagine such creatures forever stuck in the stone age with maybe a rudimentary use of native metals.
  23. Very true, and I think I'm going to regret suggesting that this was The GOD... I knew I'd regret it... If you can support this feel free to do so, I'd be interested in seeing some support for the idea of Gaea being The GOD...
  24. iggy i honestly wish i could bring an argument against what you just sent. I really do, i would really like to think that our neighbors or fellow inhabitants of the earth are not like that. But sadly a great many are, far too many with far to much power and influence over those who believe but find the idea of religion being dangerous ridiculous. Most humans don't seem to see the innate danger in religion. in fact a great many will say we are all better off if religion has power but it's not a long step from that idea to everyone should believe the way i do... it is very scary to see most of my fellow men being deluded, even those whose delusion is moderated by reality to some extent because they have the most power and have a very difficult time seeing any reason to throttle religion back in anyway... in fact the fringe groups who do believe that everyone should believe the way they do have considerable influence on the mainstream, in fact in the USA they are mainstream, Christian Evangelicals make up a large portion of the population and have an much inflated influence over politics, morality, and the power and the will to restrict the rights of others.... They did so last week in NC. For no reason other than to show their power the religious citizens of NC passed an amendment to the state constitution to outlaw something that was already illegal and to further make sure those citizens, whose right were being taken away, could not even have a non religious civil union. This law in fact disenfranchised not only homosexual people but unmarried nonreligious couples as well. It is an outrageous assault on the people of the State of North Carolina by the government of the State of North Carolina...
  25. Indeed, me as well, the very existence of tens of thousands of different versions of Christianity is quite telling...
