Way back in the day you could get mag rims for cars and motorcycles that were actually made of principally magnesium, a car with those rims that caught on fire was spectacular and almost impossible to put out with the then current technology....

I am sorry dude, my intent was not to berate you in any way, there is no need for gasoline to start magnesium, it really don't take much and it takes off like gasoline. I would imagine that you would need all kinds of permits to burn any amount of magnesium greater than few ounces. Like I said several hundred pounds was an uncontrollable wild fire.... oh yeah, the UV from the big fire killed trees nearby and burnt the skin of people who tried to put it out, they were quite unsucessful... If you want to do something relatively cool and not likely to draw the authorities get a pile of beer cans to burn, I've kept a campfire going on the beach for several hours with nothing but empty beer cans and lots of drunk buddies, lol

I've had it done too and it does give you an odd feeling to know you are being injected with radioactive material but then you think about the fact you are already radioactive as is everything around you and it still feels odd, lol.....

I don't like mosquitoes either, over the years I've fed tons of their larvae to my fish to condition them for breeding. Sadly the fact that fish love to eat their larvae as well as the creatures that feed on th adult insects is staggering and some creature actually live almost all their lives off either the larvae or the adults or both, ridding the world of mosquitoes would result in far more damage than loosing a few frogs....

Well i see no reason to use gasoline, just pile up the ribbon and throw a road flare in the pile. If the sky is overcast it should light up the surrounding country side and get the police there a little faster.... When i was a little boy i lived near, about a quarter mile or so, an industrial plant called FMC, they were working on some sort of military parts and a pile of several hundred pounds of magnesium caught on fire from welding sparks. The fire lit up the sky for miles around, mountains 5 miles away were lit up, it was impressive. later on i got see a few ounces of it burn, it was still impressive. Don't do this at home kids

No one who even has a clue as to what science is would never say god did it is the same as saying science did it, science did not "do" anything. Science studies the evidence for it, and so far God has zip, NADA, none.... Of course that doesn't prove there is no God, there is just no evidence for god, so science just ignores the idea that god did it and looks for how it works and what makes it work.... Who knows maybe there will be evidence, science doesn't rule that out but so far no evidence so there is no reason to assume God in any situation....

I've seen that in so many old cowboy movies and shows but it's a pretty good idea anyway you look at it. Fire arrows would be a great way to spread confusion, burn buildings.

From the stand point of science there is no need to balance, why must there be some mysterious force behind it?

Does feeling better after you do something count? I eat throat lozenges with zinc when i have a sore throat, it seems to help, vitamin d is supposed to make you healthier so i keep a good tan (if you are fair skinned this might be best done in moderation) but I do feel better when i have a good tan, eating salads also make me feel better especially if there is lots of fruit in the salads, is this anecdotal or does the way i feel count?

Well concerning the water, recent news seems to indicate there is indeed significant quantities of water on the moon, as for research the far side of the moon would be great for radio astronomy, i am sure there are other things that would be better not done on the earth or be easier on the moon. as for power, aneutronic fusion needs helium 3, lots of it on the moon, almost none on the earth, the equivalent of a space shuttle load of such fuel could power the entire USA for one year with no radioactive waste at all.

I think you should know that this particular creation myth is not exclusive to the bible or even the first time it has been part of a religion. Some times it varies in details but so does the account in the bible, there being at least two different versions in the bible. I see no reason to believe that bronze age primitives had a better take on the universe than we currently do and I see no reason to think they were giants mentally or morally compared to us or any other culture, primitive or otherwise....

Possibly the entire problem revolves around what liberal and conservatives really stand for. Liberals try to change the rules to fit reality, conservatives try to change reality to fit the rules, that's pretty much how i see it.... of course it could be a good thing for some people, i for one of course check anything I hear from Fox like it came from the American Association of crazy people.... give me reason to stay on top of the BS I'm being fed... Obviously you do not live in the southern USA or know many religious fundilmentalists... even the local Catholics are into the whole creationist thing... Sadly popularity is how the news is judged, i will admit that freely, doesn't make it reality, just makes it popular, I'm not sure what this says about the public that goes with what Fox news says but i keep thinking of WW2 propaganda, even when it came from the winners it didn't make it true... i honestly don't see it as a crazy thing, it's more of a truth thing for me... if Fox was reporting the truth with even a reasonable slant i probably still wouldn't watch it but I wouldn't be so quick to slam it. Reporting a republican politician as democrat because he failed morally and then using that as a starting point to rant about liberal morals is kinds sad but pretty much representative of Fox News....

I think this boils down to a phenomena that might not unique to our times but it is certain lionized by our society. That would be hooking up with people who are willing to pat you on the back and say yeah, that's exactly the way it is. No matter how strange you are you can find a group of people who agree with you, Fox News capitalizes on the conservative urges of the population by telling them they were right all along the liberals have been poisoning the well and no one is safe unless they agree with us and since we agree with your conservative values and will report the news in your image instead of that sorry crap that agrees with science, and real intelligence, who needs intelligence you have us, we'll tell you what to think and do! And yes Obama is a fake.... How is the Hebrew bible any better than tales of Thor the Thunder god? Were the Ancient Jews more intelligent than the Ancient Greeks? The Egyptians? How do you know how it was meant to be interpreted? Dune was beautifully written but i don't want to worship Sand Worms.
