  1. There is no doubt you are correct, moving planets at will is not impossible but far beyond the ability of mortal men. Building artificial habitats is more than enough of a challenge for now:D Merged post follows: Consecutive posts merged You are correct and if we can build up the atmosphere of Mars we can also add to it as time goes by. I think that gravity wells will be avoided by a future space fairing civilization, artificial habitats constructed by Von Neumann machines would be the best way to go. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-replicating_machine
  2. Well I was conscious and talking through out the entire procedure. If it was a seizure the docs missed it, they gave me a clean bill of health.
  3. For FTL see this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcubierre_drive
  4. We need Ceres to be the moon of Merc/Mars http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asteroid
  5. Hey if we're going to start moving things around lets just combine Mercury and Mars into one planet, move it out of the way, bring Venus out to Mars orbit and place Merc/Mars into an orbit a bit further from the sun than Venus currently is. Place a large moon in orbit around Venus (maybe Titan) and see what happens! It's costs no more to go first class, you just can't stay as long!
  6. I take it back, I resemble this remark Merged post follows: Consecutive posts merged With the human mind and technology any where and every where!
  7. In a hospital setting, I'd had a seizure and they wanted to see if they could induce one. They couldn't.
  8. Hey, I resemble that remark!
  9. If your future self went back in time wouldn't you be much bigger than your past self due to the expansion of the universe? Hey, it's time travel! Seriously, if you did go back and change the past wouldn't you be stuck in the past unable to return to a future that no longer existed?
  10. Probably have to melt it first. Orbiting habitats make much more sense.
  11. Hey the salt water nuclear rocket is a continuous atomic bast!
  12. I thought all EEG's were done by stimulating the brain with the lights. I saw some stuff I can only describe as multidimensional, I've had thoughts of such things but I never saw them, the visions were so vivid, the lights were supposed to stimulate my brain.
  13. It wasn't passive, they stimulated my brain with flashing strobes put over my eyes.
  14. I hope no one is surprised by the disingenuous nature of the Republicans Core or the ability of the Republican base to believe pretty much anything they are told as long as it agrees with their basic world view. Our whole society is currently ruled by people who only listen to people who say what they want to hear. News has gone from reporting the facts to spinning the situation to mean what ever the viewers want to hear. Medical care for the masses? Oh god no that would be socialism, and we all know socialism is just a half a step away from godless communism. Possibly I am too emotional to be completely unbiased on this but for a country as advanced as the USA purports to be to allow it's citizens to be destroyed financially or worse die from lack of medical care is simply wrong! What would Jesus do? If my read of the Bible was in any way accurate he wouldn't be a Conservative Republican for sure! I still don't understand why my spell checker always capitalizes Conservative but not liberal
  15. I know it's weird but somehow I think i may have sent you several friendship requests, I have no clue as to why.

  16. Great avatar, I love bender! Great posts too, I agree with iNow on that!

  17. Hey Jill, Love your avatar, and your arguments, very nice style!

  18. Has anyone here ever had an EEG? I had one about 10 years ago and to this day the effects I saw during the EEG have stayed with me. It's very difficult to explain what I saw, multidimensional spheres? I really can't explain it. Has anyone else had these effects from an EEG and would it be dangerous to duplicate them just to further experience and understand the vision?
  19. Yes, i do have series of dreams connected, the same people, the same continuing situations. if I wake I'll often go back to sleep and take up where i left off!
  20. I'm not sure what you mean? I think someone put it there, either they accidentally dropped it or purposefully put it there.
  21. My lucid dreams are more now or a little futuristic based but nothing outrageously advanced. I have dodged dinosaurs a few times and been in past type places where there were villages and primitive stuff but mostly it's either now or maybe a little futuristic.
  22. Having grown up during the cold war I ca remember being terrified of the possibility of nuclear war. many of the movies of the time played up the horror of what it would be like after such a war, most of it was total bullshit but of course then we didn't know that. I can remember even as an adult watching the movie War Games breaking out into tears when the computer said "an interesting game, the only way to win is not to play" My sons couldn't under stand my emotional response but for some of us it was a huge part of growing up.
  23. I think Jackson33 is probably correct, some of the insects may indeed have been carried by the storm and left behind as it travels but the bulk are hatched out soon after. a hurricane isn't a two hour event like a thunder storm, one time we were in hurricane conditions for almost 24 hours and the storm it's self affected the weather for days before the storm with heavy rains. By the time the storm was over a huge amount of really mean mosquito's had been hatched out from islands nearby that were normally dry. I've seen birds sheltering in low bushes and even under large objects during the storm. Some birds may even be able to fly above the worst of the storm. The wildest thing is how reptiles and other small animals head for high ground. during one hurricane a family that lived hear me heard an intense noise at their door like someone was trying to break in, they opened the door and found an six foot alligator on their porch trying to get in the door! Rattlesnakes and just regular snakes, lizards, and small mammals often turn up in yards due to humans building on high ground. Animals seem to be able to survive the storms better than a human out in the open for sure!
  24. I lucid dream quite often, I would say all the time but i know there are dreams I do not remember well enough to to say. But I do dream lucid and i can change a dream I am in to lucid dreaming. These dreams can be quite realistic and seem to be complete from end to finish if someone doesn't wake me up while I am having them. You would think the dreams would be sexual but for some reason i seldom steer a dream in that direction. It's a weird thing, I am in control of the dream but the dream also often has a direction of it's own and I only alter the details, the big picture seems to have it's own direction much of the time.
  25. My favorite is the nuclear light bulb rocket already mentioned. It could be used to lift mass of the earth several times as efficiently as a Saturn five moon rocket with no radiation release. http://www.nuclearspace.com/Liberty_ship_menupg.aspx Of course there is always the good old salt water nuclear rocket. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_salt-water_rocket
