  1. No, mars does not have a planetary magnetic field, saying does doesn't make it true... Citation please, you are making claims that need to be backed up by more than your baseless assertions... I feel the need to correct ignorance when ever I can...
  2. Only relative to the volume, the planet Saturn is less dense than water yet masses many times the mass of the earth. I already said that... Yet the movement has no effect on gravity, only the mass matters.. So now you say it's the chemical makeup instead of movement and density? make up your mind. What exactly does a hurricane have to do with a magnetic field?
  3. I think you are simply confused, you keep saying gravity and magnetism is the same thing but if it were venus should vastly different gravity and magnetic properties but you are possibly correct that the slow spin of venus impares it having a magnetic field but this has nothing to do with its atmosphere. Not if the volume changes as well. The socalled atmosphere of mercury is a hard vacuum by our standards yet very light and much less dense ganymede has a magnetic field...
  4. Well let's see, killing of ocean plankton and fish would be one negative...
  5. No, mass is based on... mass, if you replaced the sun with a black hole the same mass as the sun the solar system would continue on with the planets orbiting the same as they do now. No, not true, given a specific volume more mass would be more dense. Very true. False, the mass of the entire universe should be neutral in charge. Density has nothing to do with it.. No gravity is mass warping space time. False a stationary mass would have to same gravity as a moving mass unless it was relativistic speed. The Earth and Venus has the same gravitational pull per kilo of mass but the earth spins far faster than venus... It can be zero, why do you think it is not? Not true, gravity is mass warping space time, gravity is only an attractive force, magnetism is a polar force with positive and negative charges...
  6. At the distance from shore hurricane develop the input of rivers is negligible at worst. Adding a significant amount of salt would be environmentally dangerous to say the least. But if it worked and made air fall due to being dense it would simply displace less dense air which would rise and feed the storm..
  7. Gravity is based on mass, what do you mean by density? If magnetism is based on density wouldn't that show your ideas are wrong?
  8. You do realize that hurricanes form over the ocean which is rather highly saline already... right?
  9. Wasn't silver iodide the main substance actually used?
  10. You're not close enough to being right for me to tell you why you're wrong...
  11. The water filters out colors, red first blue or violet goes deepest.. I have cut myself while diving and the blood was fluorescent green, really odd looking..
  12. I admit the ones i saw made were 50 years ago in shop class, they seemed pretty hard to sharpen and held a good edge, took a lot of grinding, saw several grinding wheels ruined doing this. I always prefered my case brand pocket knives, a lot more practical.. I do have a case XX Bowie knife i bought 40 some years ago, I've used it as a dive knife, fish cleaning, cutting fire wood while camping and it is still like new... This is the knife I have.
  13. The source of planetary magnetic fields is well known, if you want to explain them some other way then the burden of proof lies with you not us...
  14. I doubt anyone does but you..
  15. I've seen some pretty neat knives made from files, very hard material, difficult to really work with grinders and such. There are some interesting material on youtube where various ammature smiths make blades out of things like steel cable as well...
  16. None of this in anything but nonsense...
  17. Well you have shown us you know nothing about weather in general or hurricanes specifically...
  18. I can't see anyway that the detonation of a bomb at the start of a hurricane would do other than make it more powerful. A detonation would result in rapidly rising air, a hurricane forms from rapidly rising air. The Earth's rotation gives it spin, if you could somehow remove energy you might make a difference but as far as i know there is no way to do this on a large scale. Salt is already sucked up by hurricanes, salty water anyway, I don't see how physics would allow you to stop a hurricane with a bomb. Maybe drop liquid nitrogen into the forming center but dropping dry ice has been done and it actually made it worse.
  19. I agree but after reading about ALON I see it can be formed much like ceramic knives are and if I understand it correctly it is stronger and harder...
  20. I'm rather fascinated by obsidian or glass knives. Modern napers are making some wild knives in the style of our ancient ancestors. Some really wild knives are showing up made from modern materials like bottles or plate glass. I think the transparent "aluminum" would make a great blade material. https://pin.it/frf5tctdzijzzq
  21. I'm not sure i follow you, you seem to be saying a magnetic field is generated by an atmosphere but then you say that mercury and the moon have magnetic fields when their surfaces are for all practical purposes hard vacuums. Yet Mars and Venus, which do have atmospheres, have no global magnetic fields. Ganymede which has no atmosphere has a global magnetic field. Am I misunderstanding you?
  22. John Michael Godier discusses this very notion in his newest video with Paleontologist Dr. Steve Brusatte and his Book Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs in this video. It's almost an hour long but well worth the watch if you have the time...
  23. Powers Trump does not yet have, I'm not convinced those powers cannot be gained if the correct traitors in government have their way. I think there is a real possibility that Putin and the Russian government he controls want a civil war in the US. I think they are still pissed that their government failed at least partly due to the US shining them on about things like star wars at a time when they were struggling to keep up with the US militarily and keep their citizens alive. Putin hates us because they failed and wants us to fail as well. I think he is obsessed and a civil war would be as devastating as a foreign war. Putin is a step ahead of the US in cyber warfare and is using this advantage to bring us down. Trump is a pawn, willing or unwilling, Trump and the conservatives who practically worship him are making it happen, slowly but surely and the rest of us still think it can't happen and probably will continue to think that until it does and a fascist regime comes into power in the US. Those "FEMA" camps might come to be after all... The real danger lies in the fundie Christians who think reversal of Roe vs Wade is worth any price, even coitus with the devil and have said as much. Movements like the Dominionists think they are commanded by God to take control and their long range plans appear to be coming to fruition. I for one am truly worried, this next election may very well be the deciding factor! Trump is already telling his base to vote republican so he cannot be impeached. If ever there was a time to vote now is it, I waited in line for two hours for ice, I'd wait in line as long this time as it takes to get my vote registered, Republicans are doing their best to disenfranchise everyone that might vote against them... vote! the lives of our future children depend on it as sure they need oxygen... of it's hot where you live hand out water to the ones standing in line! Give people rides to the poles, this election will reflect who we really are, let's show the world the US is not a up and coming NAZI power...
  24. There is a good chance i don't have access to the same literature you do but the idea remains what of the Tiger, Velociraptor, or Gorgonopsid? Any animals will do but is one more sophisticated than the others and so would have a distinct advantage? I do know as a kid in school it was true that the current inhabitants of our planet were portrayed as superior and that has faded some for dinosaurs and their ilk but previous ecosystems still get dissed pretty bad...
  25. If not directly the superiority of our current biosphere is inferred, read any book about past life and you'll see almost cartoonish illustrations of past life. Admittedly our knowledge is limited but think about the permian extinction. If you look it up you see the ecosphere that was eliminated is illustrated as sparse and full of "primitive" animals when in fact they were just as sophisticated as current animals. Recent years has seen a trend to make the reign of the dinosaurs portrayed as somewhat advanced but the idea of dinosaurs as primitive brutes lumbering around waiting to be killed off lingers on. But the thought experiment only deals with a sudden mixing not catastrophes. The animals of various eras never actually competed with each other. What if they did...
