  1. well, from the looks of it this bunch is real buff .... perhaps carrying calculators, laptops etc. "portable" stuff has made a difference.
  2. I thought this was a science forum ... where are all the nerds who have problems doing even one ?
  3. try this one if you're with win OS and keep having the problem ... I've had couple simple mp3 etc. standard file types that just would not delete without doing it in boot : http://www.softwarepatch.com/tips/howto-delete-xp.html
  4. Legalizing substances over other has the problem why allow some over the other ... the same arguments that illegalize substances like marijuana might as well be applied to substances that are currently allowed & legal.

Actually did some googling during these couple of hours and found some sort of a "developer interface" that enables you to have 4 separate desktops in XP ... and since its not by microsoft it actually works pretty well ... even with respect to performance, its essentially the same thing as in RH.
  6. And actually several of the most challenging questions in many forums are posed by total "newbies" ... who aren't as fixated with the current status quo and "have still hope".
  7. Anyone use these Java based applications which should essentially enable you to have "several desktops" in WinXP (similar to what you have in RH, workspaces or what are they called) ? Wouldn't mind having one if they wouldn't completely eliminate performance.
  8. Hi all ! Andy, Msc in material science. Currently working on numerical methods in relation to nanotech & nanomaterials. Pretty much multiscale & multiphysical research from QM to classical mech. p.
  9. Someones got to mention good old dilbie ... even though it sucks in non-strip form.
