Ok, I cancelled my Homestead account and signed up for AwardSpace. Thanks, Cap'n Refsmmat, for the link. Now I just hope I can get all of my domains transferred without any problems.

CNN is an international company' date=' and so is BBC. When I visit the web site, I am taken to their "International version". There are also many companies that are only in America with a .com domain. I can only think of a very few .us domains. However, lots of companies in the United Kingdom get a .co.uk domain. Many of us in America do not understand the purpose. It can be very confusing to remember ".co.uk" if you don't live in the United Kingdom. Thank you for the links. AwardSpace.com looks very interesting, and I will check it out.

Yes, but most American companies don't feel the need to put .us in their domain name. I used CNN and BBC as an example because they are very similar web sites. CNN just uses cnn.com for their domain. They don't use cnn.co.us for their domain. No, the reason is so people wouldn't use the host to create web sites with viruses and spyware. This was a major problem when my host was a free service. That was a long time ago. They used to be free, then they were around $75 every two years, then they were around $150 every two years, and now they are $99 every year. Their service really hasn't changed that much. Homestead.com I think they are a really good host because my web sites have only gone down one time in about 5 years. They fixed the problem in about a half-hour. I've seen other web sites go down for days. Can you name one service that provides something better for free?

They have some very good templates and animations. It is also easy for me to edit them to make my own designs. Usually my sites look very different from the original template when I'm done. However, they look much better than if I designed them from nothing. I don't understand why so many people in the United Kingdom love those .uk domain names. I could get a .us domain name, but I choose not to. Actually, most Americans don't get a .us domain name. I think it just sounds more professional using .com, .net. org, or whatever best relates to your web site. Which sounds better? http://news.bbc.co.uk or http://cnn.com? My host recognizes me as the owner of my domains. I could transfer any of my domains to another host for free. Don't you think Microsoft would be the same way? I do have FTP access to all of my web sites. However, it is limited to prevent viruses and harmful software from being installed on their servers. I can only upload files with certain extensions. If I want to upload a program, it will need to be in a ZIP folder and extracted by each person who downloads it.

It actually is a message programmed somewhere into IE. I've seen it before on multiple web sites. Sometimes the windows just closes, and sometimes that message is displayed. Perhaps it depends on what code is used to close the window.

Microsoft is going to be offering free domain names and free web hosting! Visit: http://officelive.microsoft.com/officelivebasic.aspx This is amazing! A domain name, 30MB of storage, 10GB of monthly bandwidth, and 5 e-mail accounts. I can't believe all of this is free! It's better than my current hosting company, and I'm paying about $175 a year for it. What do you all think?
-
I thought 192.168.0.1 is supposed to take you to the host computer and 127.0.0.1 is supposed to be a loopback to your own computer.
-
I think you are right. When you join their main site for $39.95, you are supposed to be advertising the ability to earn money by selling juice. When people sign up for your offer, you will earn money and the other people will also start advertising the ability to sell juice. It keeps going and everyone is selling the ability to make money by selling juice. Nobody seems to actually sell the juice. It seems like the juice could just be a mask for the pyramid scheme.
-
I don't remember what site I got it from, I think it was supposed to be an advertising service. When I clicked OK, it went to a "The page cannot be displayed" error.
-
The main focus of the company doesn't appear to be making and selling the juice. Their main focus seems to be finding other people to sell their juice. You can tell by visiting their main web site: http://www.frutavida.com and clicking on "enter site". The only place that they seem to be trying to sell their product is http://www.tryfrutavida.com which is obviously not their main site. This is the main thing that makes this company seem odd, or even like a scam. Normally, a company would try to focus on their product, and then maybe have a small link near the bottom of the page for resellers. By the way, what is a "100% empty bottle guarantee"?
-
Many people have been advertising Fruta Vida as some type of magical fruit juice. Some people are selling it and saying stuff like, "It cures cancer", "It makes you live much longer", and "It makes you happier". The company that makes Fruta Vida has a web site: http://www.tryfrutavida.com I don't understand what makes it so special. It costs $39.95 per bottle! How can it be worth that price?

IE and Firefox are the two main web browsers that people use. Both of these web browsers work with live.com without any problems. Does it really make sense to say there is something wrong with live.com? I'm sure if these friends used DOS, they would get confused when they first started using a GUI operating system. Does that mean DOS is better than a GUI operating system? This is a new concept. It may take some people a while to adjust. That is how society advances.
-
How does separating into pages make searching faster? I think that live.com is much easier than clicking on different pages. It doesn't load everything at one time, it loads more data as you scroll. This is great if you have a mouse that automatically scrolls. Instead of constantly clicking on the "next page" link, you can just let your mouse scroll through the results and stop it when you see a web site you want. Live.com works fine with IE and Firefox. I would say there is something wrong with Opera.
-
What do you mean? What is Konqueror? That's what I like about live.com so much. You don't need to keep clicking through the pages. You just scroll up or down. It seems like such a great idea. Why did search engines separate the search results into different pages in the first place?
-
Has anybody visited http://www.live.com and used the search engine? I think it's great because you don't have to worry about clicking on different pages. All you need to do is scroll up or down. Microsoft is still trying to work a few bugs out, but it looks great so far.

I went to a web site the other day, and I saw a strange error message: After that, I haven't had any other problems going to any other web site. Do you know what that message means? Was somebody doing a DOS attack against my computer, or the web site?

I'm not sure who the ISP is. The IP addresses have not been removed or changed. Why would the law be interested in protecting these servers? I'm sure that they contain personal information from everyone who had their computer infected by Haxdoor. These servers appear to still be receiving information. The creators of Haxdoor could probably access this information anytime they want, so somebody should find a way to delete it. Yes, but I looked at the logs of a security program I installed on my computer. I saw the Haxdoor virus sending data from my computer to those IP addresses.
-
Some of you might remember the thread I created a while ago when my computer was infected with the Haxdoor virus. This is a very bad virus, because none of the AntiVirus programs can delete it. It was a huge pain, but I finally found a way to delete it with the help of several SFN members, especially Dak and Cap'n Refsmmat. Well, it appears that Haxdoor is spreading again! It came into one of my other computers, but I deleted it using the same steps that I used the first time. It will still log your keystrokes and send them to other servers. The IP addresses for the servers appear to be: 212.27.63.103 and 67.15.35.7 Why haven't these servers been shutdown yet? I sent the IP addresses to several major online security companies, but the servers are still running! The IP addresses go to apache servers without any content, so it seems pretty obvious that there is something suspicious about them. Can anyone trace these servers to see where they are located? Just curious, but would it be illegal to hack into these servers that you know are illegally collecting personal information about people? I'm not a hacker, but I was just wondering because I'm sure that some of my personal information is on these servers. If the law wouldn't protect these illegal servers, it might help a lot of people if someone went in and wiped out all of the data in them.

Try contacting Apple. Sometimes the batteries are defective. I'm not sure how long it is supposed to last, but I'm sure it should last several hours. If it is defective, Apple will fix it for free when it is still under warranty. I agree. I looked at several mp3 players, and none of them looked very impressive. They were either larger than the iPod Nano, or they had a much smaller capacity.

Actually quite a few companies have already been announced: http://www.apple.com/ipodnano/ipodyourcar/ This list is expected to grow by the end of the year. I think CNN said that about 90% of new cars will connect to iPods within the next two years. Why are you acting like so few people own iPods? 42 million people own iPods, and they have purchased over 1 billion songs from iTunes. These are not small numbers. Wow... You really are out of touch with technology! I know several people in my family who can control their car stereo from their steering wheel, and the cars aren't really expensive. This feature will be even more important if you are trying to control your iPod. Can you imagine how dangerous it would be if you are looking at your iPod screen and trying to scroll through your songs while driving? Yeah, I don't know what these idiots are complaining about. I use my iPod Nano all the time, and it doesn't even have one scratch. Did you ever notice the controversy about Sony TV's being so breakable? It will break if you throw it off a tall building. It was caused by Sony's cheap manufacturing... Uh, what planet are you from? The iPod does have market dominance! I think the next largest company in that market is Creative. I can't name anyone who has a portable music player from Creative, but I see tons of people with their iPods. You seem to be against every large company in the world! You are against Microsoft for leading the operating system and web browsing industries. I can almost understand because of some of the security flaws that could let hackers into your computer. However, I can't imagine a hacker using a security flaw in an iPod to hack your computer. So, what's your reason this time? We live in a capitalist economy, so there is almost always going to be a company with market dominance.

Perhaps it could be breaking anti-trust laws. In fact, Apple will be making money from almost every automobile sold in the world! Every time a company sales a product that connects directly to iPod's main port, they have to pay a royalty to Apple. They said how much the royalty will be on CNN. It was a very small number, but I can imagine that it will add up. Of course, I don't have a problem with this because I have an iPod and I look forward to the day that I can listen to all of my music in my car. There are already stereo systems for iPods. They work with the iPod, but not the other portable music players. You are correct, and the iPod will be sending a lot more than just sound to stereo systems and automobiles. For example, you will be able to control your iPod from buttons on the steering wheel in most future cars. These types of features will require the iPod dock, not just the standard jack. What type of alternative device do you use? I've looked at many of them, and they seem to be poor quality. Many of them only hold around 100 songs. My uncle bought an alternative device, and it broke after a few months. When an independent company was testing the iPod Nano, they actually drove a car over it with no case protecting it. It didn't look so good, but it still worked! The only type of alternative device I would consider using would be a Sony. I always bought Sony CD players, and they worked great. However, the reviews for the Sony digital music players were much lower than the reviews for the iPod Nano. As I was explaining to Cap'n Refsmmat, the 3.5mm jack will not allow you to take advantage of the iPod's various features. For example, some future stereos will allow you to change songs using the remote that came with the stereo. The stereo system would need to connect to the iPod's dock to do this. Actually, the iPod can play different file formats. If you put a MP3 file on your iPod, it will remain a MP3 file. When you rip a song from a CD, or buy a song from iTunes, the sound will be in the MPEG4 format. However, it will use Apple's proprietary code to protect the file so you can't make illegal copies.
-
I also enjoy listening to the radio. That is usually how I first hear songs that I want to buy for my iPod. I agree that with CDs you pay for a lot of songs that you don't want. That's another reason why I like buying my music from iTunes. You can listen to each song and choose the ones you want. Very bad idea! Think about the future. Apple has already made deals with most of the main automobile companies. In a few years, almost all vehicles are going to have a place where you can connect your iPod to the stereo. The same thing will happen with most home stereo systems. They will connect to the iPod's main port, not the place where you connect the headphones. The iPod's port is patented by Apple, so the equivalents will not be able to legally connect to all the devices designed for the iPod. You will have to buy a FM radio transmitter, which can be very expensive. I've also heard in reviews that the FM radio transmitters have poor quality. If you have an iPod, you will be able to connect it to all types of entertainment and sound systems. If you get an equivalent, you will probably be stuck with headphones.

Yes. Just search for the music band or singer you are looking for. It should display all of their albums. If you already have your iTunes account setup, just click on the album and it will start downloading. I rarely buy a whole album because I can just listen to previews of each songs and just buy the songs that I like. CDs are going completely out of style. I can't imagine carrying around my big and heavy Walkman now that I have my iPod Nano. A CD can usually hold around 20 songs. My iPod Nano can hold about 2,000! You can also put pictures on it, and it even comes with a few games. It also has a graphic equalizer to improve the sound quality. You can even shuffle all of the songs on your iPod, and it will play all of them in a random order. There are also tons of other features that I can't think of at the moment. Trust me, I'm sure you will never want another CD after you get an iPod Nano.

What's so funny? There have been a ton of people who signed up for My IFrames and my members have e-mailed me saying how much they like the service. I doubt that. I've used my own web sites on My IFrames, and I've seen my search engine positions increase. I don't use regular frames. In fact, regular frames don't even seem to have a purpose. Iframes are much better because you can control their size and everything.
