  1. When somebody visits a web site, the web site usually logs the visitor's IP address. This can be used to see how many times the same person visits a web site. How does this work? Can I create a script that will load a web site in a frame, and then randomly generate the IP address that the web site will log from my computer? Please let me know. Thank you.
  2. I found an article that says Firefox's security is not much better than Internet Explorer's. Read this article: http://www.newsfactor.com/story.xhtml?story_id=38275 There are 28 known security flaws in Firefox, and 32 known security flaws in Internet Explorer. I don't think that is much of a difference.
  3. It was in Gettysburg. So many people get strange pictures there at night. Many people go there trying to get a strange picture with their own camera. Walking around the battlefields and graveyard at night is a major tourist attraction at Gettysburg. Even though many people do this, it is still very likely that he was the only person in the area. The battlefield is huge, and it surrounds the entire city of Gettysburg. Therefore, I believe that it was probably completely dark when he took this picture.
  4. Hi everyone. I got an e-mail from the person who sent me the picture. I told him your opinions and I asked him if there was anyone with candles in the area. He said this:
  5. Does anybody know of an online application that would allow me to connect to my AOL Instant Messenger account? I would like an application that could allow me to communicate on AIM without downloading the software. You simply go to a web site, and type in your AIM username and password. After that, the AIM user interface loads in the actual web site, and not an application on your computer. Does this exist yet?
  6. Oh, ok. Then Lance is probably right.
  7. Maybe, but the site will come back in a few minutes. Also, why did Kyrisch see the error message before pressing the button?
  8. Yeah, you are right. The site gets deleted, but it comes back in a few seconds... I wonder what the purpose of that web page is? Do you think they are trying to see how many people will actually press the button? Somebody was actually advertising it on an Internet advertising web site!
  9. It looks like if you press it once, something will happen. If you press it a second time, something else will happen. It is very tempting to press the button, but it could be real.
  10. Look at this site: http://totl.net/HonourSystem/ Is this a joke, or is the web site owner crazy? I don't want to find out what will happen if I press the button... Is it actually possible to put a script on a web site that could delete all of the files?
  11. Yes, you are probably right. However, the forum isn't where Zone Labs answers questions. It is mainly for discussion between the people that use ZoneAlarm products. It is very rare for them to delete a thread. There have been many people that create threads that just talk about how much they hate ZoneAlarm, and these threads are never deleted. There have even been some threads that advertise Zone Lab's competitors, and even these threads are never deleted. Why would they delete a thread that simply asks what is logged in the tvDebug file? Also, the tvDebug file grows about 1 megabyte every day. That seems like a lot for a simple debug file, doesn't it?
  12. Ok, this is very weird! A while ago, I created a thread asking about tvDebug on the ZoneAlarm official forum. I just went back to see if there were any replies, and my thread was deleted! When I go to the link where my thread used to be I see this: I don't understand this. The forum has all of the other threads that were created since the day that the forum opened. What could ZoneAlarm be hiding? This seems like very big news since ZoneAlarm is a very popular firewall.
  13. Thank you for the replies. I've tried changing the extension and opening the file with every program I can think of. All of the programs say the file is unreadable, or it just displays the strange characters that show when I open the file in Notepad. The file must be readable, because the creators of ZoneAlarm seem to be able to open and read the file. Otherwise, their technical support wouldn't request the file. Does anybody know a program I can use to open this file, or do you think the creators of ZoneAlarm are the only people with a program that is capable of reading this file?
  14. The ZoneAlarm firewall keeps a log file at C:/Windows/Internet Logs/tvDebug.log and this file becomes larger every day. Whenever the log file reaches 20 megabytes, it is placed into a zip folder and a new log file is created. Many people have asked what exactly is being logged, but all the creators of ZoneAlarm will say is that they are debug files. Whenever anyone e-mails the ZoneAlarm technical support, they ask that you attach all of the tvDebug files to your e-mail. I would like to know what exactly is in these files. When I open the file in Notepad, all I see is this: If I printed an entire tvDebug file in text format, it would print thousands of pages! I have no idea how ZoneAlarm products are programmed, but this seems like more than a simple debug file. I trust that ZoneAlarm is a good security product, but this file could easily contain information about everything that I do on my computer. Does anyone know the exact contents of the tvDebug files, or where I can download a program that will allow me to see the contents of these files?
  15. Ok, thanks. Just for fun. I don't plan on taking any copyrighted programs and reselling it as my own. I would just like to make changes to computer software, and use it on my computer. I have edited some video games, and it can be very fun. Just by using a GameShark, you can change different parts of the games. You can make the hero into the bad guy, and stuff like that. If you edit a computer game, you can even design your own levels with a discombobulator program. Has anybody here played Super Mario Bros. 3? Nintendo created many more levels in the game than were in the final product. However, some people have edited the game and discovered all of these levels. They aren't accessible from playing the game, but they are hidden deep within the ROM of the game. I know that many programs have lots hidden features that are disabled, but still in the program. Just a few minor changes to the source code of the .exe files could unlock these features. It just seems like fun.
  16. Does anybody know how to open the code and edit an .exe file? When I open an .exe file in Notepad, all I can see is the variable declarations and text messages in the program. I also see links to .dll files. The rest of the file is unreadable. Is there any type of software that can read a program and translate it into the original programming language? Since programming language can be compiled into an .exe file, it seems like it would be possible to do the opposite.
  17. Ok, then I am sure that TetraSurf works with CSS2. SFN is one of the web sites that I have tested with TetraSurf, and it displays correctly. The only problem is the Google ad covers up the SFN logo when TetraSurf is in multiple windows mode. When you switch to full window mode, the problem is corrected. It uses Trident. I agree. I normally don't use very many apps at the same time, so my taskbar is normally clear. However, there have been times that I was using several apps and the automatic grouping was annoying. I have it disabled on my computer. TetraSurf does use some settings and files of Internet Explorer, but TetraSurf is a separate browser. It does not simply load Internet Explorer four times, but it has its own user interface and navigation toolbar. Yes. It does use the built in engine of IE. However, the browser does not use IExplorer.exe to run. The browsers run in the TetraSurf program, using the code that I wrote.
  18. That doesn't work very well. Many web sites will automatically maximize or change the size of your browser. The windows in TetraSurf won't be maximized unless you maximize them. What other features do you think I should add to TetraSurf? It works perfectly on every web site I've tested it with.
  19. Using the tabs in browsers seems pointless to me. It is the same thing as opening more than one Internet Explorer, except the tabs are in the browser instead of on the taskbar. You can only see one web site at a time. If you are ever using a traffic exchange, or doing anything else that requires you to use more than one web site, it is very annoying to be always switching the tabs.
  20. Ok, Cap'n Refsmmat, I added the option to maximize each window. Just download TetraSurf again, and it will have an extra button that maximizes the window to its full size.
  21. It was written in Visual Basic. It isn't open source' date=' and I'm not sure what CSS2 is. Can you please tell me a web site that uses CSS2 so I can test it? It depends on how you use the Internet. If you just want to post messages in forums, you probably won't need multiple pages open in the same window. However, many people use multiple web sites at the same time, and it will help to have them all in the same browser. In all of the browsers that I have used, you will need to switch windows to see other web site. Yes, I would really like to add an option that allows you to maximize the individual windows. I am working on that now, and it will be available in TetraSurf version 2. TetraSurf will use all of the options that you have selected for Internet Explorer. I am working on a separate options menu for version 2.
  22. I finally found a web browser that I like better than Internet Explorer. I created it! It is called TetraSurf and it works very well with all the web sites I have tested with it. It can be downloaded for free from http://www.tetrasurf.com but you will need to install a free update from Microsoft. I have the Microsoft update on the same page as the TetraSurf download. If you download TetraSurf, please let me know what you think about it.
  23. No, I do not use AOL, or have an AOL e-mail address. I use Hotmail as my main e-mail address, and Yahoo as my company's e-mail address. However, all of these returned messages are from AOL. At first, I was only receiving them in my Hotmail e-mail address. However, I logged into my Yahoo e-mail account for the first time in weeks, and now I am receiving the returned AOL e-mails in that account too. I removed all traces of the virus that entered my computer. In fact, the virus never even had a chance to install before my security system disabled it. The e-mails that are being sent to AOL users do not seem to be sent from my computer. None of the returned e-mails were sent to the people in my address book. In fact, I never even heard of any of the e-mail addresses that the original e-mails were sent to. Does anybody have any other suggestions? Please let me know. Thanks.
  24. That is a difficult question to answer. When I'm looking at the "ghost pictures" I took in Gettysburg, I believe that there is probably a good explanation that does not involve ghosts, or the supernatural. I'm beginning to agree with everyone that the orb pictures I took are due to either long exposure, or insects flying in the air. I took some pictures in places that I can't imagine being haunted, and I found orbs. I really don't know what to think about the picture I posted in this thread. It looks completely unlike any picture I have ever taken, or any picture I've seen in a book or on a web site. It looks like something that could have been artificially created on a computer. However, I don't like to accuse anyone of creating a fake photo, unless I can prove it. Therefore, I will consider the picture to be something unusual that was found in the Gettysburg cemetery. Now, back to the question of whether or not I believe in ghosts. I don't believe I have actually experienced a ghost, or taken a picture of a ghost. However, I do know some close friends and family members that say they have actually experienced a ghost. My Grandma said she clearly saw a ghost walk in her bedroom when she was young. Other members of her family had also seen the ghost. They decided to do some research, and they found out that their house was built on an old cemetery. My Grandma never tells very many people that story. She is also not the type of person that would ever make up a story like that. Her story can't scientifically prove the existence of ghosts, but I certainly keep an open mind about the possibility that ghosts could exist. I have no idea...
