I only created one other thread with Gettysburg pictures. They were pictures that I took, and I said they looked like they could be ghosts. This is a completely different thread, with a completely different picture, from a completely different photographer. The only person who mentioned ghosts is you.

Yes, it is easier to convert between meters, kilometers, etc. However, the temperature is crazy. When I think of the temperature being 30 degrees, it sounds cold to me. In countries that use Celsius, they think it is hot. You are the only person who said anything about ghosts.

The United States needs to conquer the world. So long, crazy metric system...

Those would be some good explanations, but I don't think he was in a car, or indoors. This is what he said in the e-mail he sent me with the picture: Even if the camera was shaking, what would have created the lights in the first place? Candles would not explain all the different colors. He said there were no cars. I don't know this person, so I can't say he didn't make them on his computer. However, I don't understand why he would go through the trouble just to send them to my web site.

Yes, they are all from AOL. It looks like the message originated from warwick.net. Why is the computer infected with the virus using my e-mail address? How do I stop it?

I have been receiving strange e-mails recently. The messages say: For the past few days, I've been getting several of these messages each day. It started happening after a worm called Winexec.exe downloaded itself into my system. However, I completely deleted it with Microsoft AntiSpyware. I also ran a check with Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition. I can't find any traces of the worm in my computer. Even if the worm was still in my computer, it shouldn't be able to send e-mail to other people. I use ZoneAlarm Pro, which should block any outgoing e-mail that is from a worm. Therefore, I don't think these messages are coming from the worm. Does anyone have any idea what is happening?

There does appear to be a road there because of the turn sign in the distance. I guess this is a little off-topic, but the date was 9/21/2005, not 21/9/2005. Your Elementary school should have taught you that 9/21/2005 means it is the 21st day, not the 21st month! No, I collect pictures that were taken at Gettysburg. Isn't anybody starting to wonder why there are so many strange pictures taken at Gettysburg? Huh?

Where would all the light be coming from? The cemetery is part of the battlefield, and I don't think anyone realizes how dark it is at nights. I will ask him if anyone with candles was there, but I doubt it. Normally, there are very few people there at night. Also, why are there so many different colors?

Did you even read my post? This was a picture that somebody else sent me, it wasn't my picture. Also, I never said anything about ghosts.

I use the Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition, and it won't detect the files. I even tried a full system scan. I know I have the newest update for the virus scanner. I found the winexec.exe file name at http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.falsu.a.html but none of the other files listed are on my computer. Could this be a new version of the virus?

A virus seems to have downloaded itself on my computer without displaying any security warnings or anything. I use a very powerful virus scanner, and this is the first time ever anything has gotten past it. A web site automatically downloaded two files on my computer. They are located at C:/_DelItH.bat and C:/winexec.exe and they tried to automatically run on my system. My firewall seems to have stopped the program, but the files are still there. They don't seem to be doing any harm, so I will leave them there so I can analyze them. Has anyone ever heard of these files before?

I have been receiving lots of strange pictures that were taken at Gettysburg. Most of them look like the orb pictures I posted in another thread. However, somebody sent me a picture that looks like nothing I have ever seen before. He said that he was in the Gettysburg cemetery, and it was very dark. He also said that his camera lens was clean. Does anyone have any idea what this picture could be?

How exactly does an iPod work? Can I just copy all of the songs from CDs, and send them to my iPod? Can I use the songs I bought from Napster, or do I need to buy all of the songs from the iTunes store?

Ok, thank you. I've cleaned up most of the dust, and the fan is working again. There is still a lot inside the PSU near the fan. The strange thing is how difficult the dust is to clean up. I had to use a toothpick to scrape most of the dust off. When she first gave me the computer, the outside was very dusty. The interesting thing is that the dust on the outside was grey, and the dust on the inside was brown. I'll ask her what color her carpet is. The fan hasn't been turning at all, which was causing the PSU to overheat. There is only one fan, and it sounds fine now that it is running.

I appreciate all of the replies. I also contacted the manufacturer of the computer, and they said that there is nothing dangerous in their power supplies. The substance isn't any type of a liquid. It is more like a type of dust, or dirt. I took a few pictures, but it is difficult to see the substance clearly. Look on the top IDE cable in these pictures:

Thank you for your reply. The PSU is working and providing power to all of the computer's components. The only problem is that this brown substance is blocking the PSU's fan. The PSU will overheat and turn off the computer's power after it runs for about 15 minutes. I don't know where this stuff came from. Should I take the PSU apart and try to clean it?

I saw him on the news. I also found a few more pictures of him. Here is a good picture:

A friend's computer turns off after running for about 15 minutes. She asked me to see if I could fix her computer because she doesn't have very much money. I started working on the computer, and I realized that the power supply is overheating. There is some type of brown substance coming out of the power supply, and it covered the power supply's fan. It is also falling down into the rest of the computer. It is on the CPU, IDE cables, hard drive, and RAM. It looks like it could be dirt that came in though the vent on the back of the power supply, but I'm wondering if it could be any type of hazardous or corrosive material that came from inside the power supply. I want to make sure it isn't anything dangerous before I try to clean it. Can anyone please give me any advice about this? Thanks.

It is a NetGear wireless router.

Well, the add-on manager won't detect spyware that is a program and automatically connects to the Internet. However, it should detect spyware that attaches to Internet Explorer. There are several toolbars that attach to Internet Explorer, and spy on you. You can disable these with the add-on manager.

ZoneAlarm Pro allows me to open and close any port I want. However, my router's firewall doesn't appear to have any settings. The firewall is automatically on when the router is on.
-
It is probably the firewall. SP2 turns on the Windows XP firewall, and it isn't very easy to configure. It often blocks online games. I manually turned off the Windows XP firewall, and bought ZoneAlarm Pro. It gives you more control over the firewall. With ZoneAlarm Pro configured correctly, I don't have any trouble playing online games with SP2. SP2 makes a lot of improvements to Windows XP. Since this topic is about IE, I'll just mention the improvements to IE. It adds a good pop-up blocker, and an add-on manager. If you have spyware that uses IE, you can easily disable it. SP2 also changes your IE settings to make it much more secure.

I have a firewall on my network's router, and I use a software firewall on my computers. Is there any way I could open port 80 without turning off the firewalls and decreasing the security of my computers?
