It does mean that it isn't something that exists where I live. All of the explanations I've heard exist where I live.
-
I use ZoneAlarm too. I normally keep my network in the "Internet" zone for maximum security. However, when I transfer files or print something across the network, I need to change it to "Trusted".

Almost every picture I took in Gettysburg has something strange in it. These "ghost-like" figures are not in the pictures I take in other places. Yes, but if somebody saw something that looked really weird, they would know it isn't a dog.

I'm not a professional "ghost hunter". I have no idea when I'll be able to go back to Gettysburg. That's why I came here looking for an explanation that I can agree with. It is obviously something rare that doesn't exist in the other places I take pictures. I've never taken any "ghost-like" pictures anywhere else, but they are in almost every Gettysburg picture. Most of the people here are more scientific than me, so I thought somebody would be able to explain. This would be like you going on vacation and taking a walk. You see some animal that looks very strange. It is unlike anything you ever saw before. You take a picture, and show it to some people that know a lot about animals. They tell you that it is a dog. You explain that you know what a dog looks like, and your picture is obviously something else. Now, they tell you to go back and try some experiments to prove that it isn't a dog.

Exactly. If you can't get those setup, what is the purpose of having a network? Those network cables aren't for decoration.

Yes! I came here looking for a good explanation. So far, nobody has provided one that I agree with. The reason I disagree is because every suggestion is too common. I have insects and pollen where I live. I also use the same camera all the time, and I never get lens flares. I have taken lots of pictures, and some of those have been at night. If it was something common, wouldn't they be in my other pictures?

Oh, really? This is what you said about religion:

Sorry, I started my last reply before you typed that...

I'm sorry. Somehow I believed the phrase, "Linux is a better OS than MS" might have something to do with comparing Linux and MS. I don't know why I thought that... What is the difference between a fanboy and someone sharing their opinion about an OS? When I talk about Windows, you call me a fanboy. When you talk about Linux, why doesn't that make you a fanboy? Your avatar is the Linux logo! If anyone had the MS flag as their avatar, you would be calling them a fanboy. How can you be a minister? You said you didn't even believe in religion!

I'm not going say anything, but I'll copy some of your own posts...

Let me start by explaining my username. It all started when I first started using the Internet. My Aunt always calls me, "My Boy". So, I tried the username "HerBoy" when I was installing Netscape, my first web browser. Anyway, "HerBoy" was already taken so I decided to change it to "Herme". It didn't take long for me to lose my password. After I lost my password, I starting using the name, "Herme2". Well, a few more years went by when I lost my password again. Now, I've been using the name "Herme3" for about 5 years. I actually just picked my avatar because I saw it in another forum. I just thought it looked funny.

Was the first man a baby or an adult?

A man could have been crippled, and had a bent back. That doesn't mean he was half man, and half monkey. I don't think you know very much about the Christian religion and The Bible. It never said that. It also never said the Earth was flat. A lot of this was invented by the Catholic Church, and has nothing to do with The Bible and what most Christians believe. First of all' date=' The Bible was not written by one man. It was written by many men. Also, people didn't create God. God created people. Christians already know the answers, it is the evolutionists that are struggling to find answers. I would like you to name any of the evidence. It is probably the same stuff that the first evolutionists said. Christians have already proven this is incorrect. No, I can't provide any reason to call it a ghost. However, most people that see pictures like that call them ghosts. I don't know why. All I know is that I can't explain it. Until I find an explanation, I will have to agree with the most popular belief that they are ghosts.

I do agree with your latest post. Everything that I need to do on my computers works great with Windows XP. I suppose that there may be some things that might work better on the other operating systems. To be honest, I really don't know anything about the reasons you listed. Everything that the average computer user needs to do works great with Windows. Therefore, I would recommend Windows to the average user. However, there probably are some cases where another operating system may be a better choice. Trust me, I am not a Microsoft fanboy. I only like Windows because I've never had any problems with it. I would love to see the Xbox 2 be as crappy as the first one. Maybe people won't buy it this time. I'll be buying a Nintendo Revolution, although the PlayStation 3 looks cool too. I really don't know anything about Macs other than the ones I used froze all the time. They were always crashing and pulling up weird error messages. I would agree that the PowerPC is a good processor. I have a Nintendo GameCube, which is a great video game system. That has an IBM Gekko PowerPC processor. I've only had my GameCube freeze one time, and I'm sure that was a glitch in the game.

I actually do like Nintendo better than PlayStation. However, I can't really relate to that comic because I do own a PlayStation and several Nintendo systems. I don't think I'm being a fanboy when comparing Macs and other computers. I just explained why Macs are so bad. A sound driver error would never crash an entire network with Windows computers.
-
I'm sure that is because there are more accidents from people talking on cell phones than driving drunk. More people talk on cell phones than drive drunk. It is like comparing sharks and lighting. People say that you have a better chance of getting struck by lightning than attacked by a shark. Well, that's because most people spend more time outside in a thunderstorm than swimming in the ocean.

MAC COMPUTERS ARE PURE CRAP!!!!! I'm sorry. Give me a minute to calm down.... I know a place that had all Mac computers connected on a network. Those computers would freeze all the time for no reason at all. One time, every computer on that network froze. When they restarted, none of them would reconnect to the network. It ended up being a corrupt sound driver on one computer! Can you imagine one sound driver taking down the entire network? Anyway, the place got smart and threw out all those Mac computers. They bought some nice Compaqs with Windows installed. The network and computers worked perfectly after that.

That is your opinion, not a scientific fact. I'm not saying that evolution can't be true, but there is no proof. Also, there is no proof that says creationism is false. There are many more Christians in this world than people who believe monkeys started their family tree. -
FreeBSD is like a really old operating system that has gone out of date a long time ago. It may have been nice in the days of Windows 3.1 but who would want it now? Excellent point. All you need to do is run Windows Update to fix these issues. By the way, I didn't see any type of update software in FreeBSD. When a bug is discovered in FreeBSD, how is anyone going to fix it?
-
Crappy hardware? One of my wireless cards is what came with my notebook computer. It happens to be one of the best and most expensive notebook computers available. It obviously isn't a hardware issue, because it is working fine with Windows XP. The other wireless card is made by Netgear, which is recognized as one of the top manufacturers of wireless products. Since the other operating systems have so many compatibility issues with many types of software and hardware, I would say it is an operating system issue. Anyone with common sense would say that the other operating systems are crap before they say there is something wrong with nearly ALL the hardware and software available.
-
Well, I guess trying FreeBSD has only increased my opinion about Windows being my favorite operating system. I have two computers, and each of them has wireless Internet cards. With Windows, one of the wireless cards connected immediately. There was no need for setup or anything. The other wireless card required a driver from a CD. After I installed the driver in Windows, the card started working perfectly. Well, with FreeBSD NONE of my wireless cards work. I checked the manuals of both cards, and both of them only work with Windows. I can't understand why anyone thinks these other operating systems are better than Windows. Now I actually have my own proof that these other operating systems have major compatibility issues. I do not agree with some of Microsoft's business practices. I also don't think Windows will always be the best operating system. When I find a better operating system, I'll install it on my computers. However, I still think Windows XP is the best when you consider compatibility.

Ok, I meant UNIX. Wasn't Linux built using UNIX?

Hi Sayonara³. I will reply to your comments in a little while. First I'm going to install Linux and make my own comparisons between Linux and Windows. If you don't hear from me for a while, it means my computer and I are lost in a cruel world of Linux. Please call Bill Gates and ask him to save us!
