Well, there are a ton of different theories. Some say that it is a gateway to the underworld. People say that the ships and planes get pulled into the underworld. A more scientific belief is that methane gas is building up on the ocean floor in that area. Huge bubbles of methane gas are released, and causes the ships to turn over. It is also believed that this methane gas is flammable. When the methane gas reaches the surface, it ignites when it touches the hot engine of a plane. This is one reason why the planes might crash.

If this was true, wouldn't the apes have died out and only humans be alive? According to natural selection, the mutations occur, then the ones that survive are the ones that multiply. Humans and apes are both multiplying, but the only species between a human and ape is Bigfoot.
-
After reading some of these replies, I now see the resemblance between humans and chimpanzees! LOL. Just kidding... If evolution is true, wouldn't we see species that are between apes and humans? I think that there is too big of a gap between apes and humans. Both apes and humans are alive today. I don't think an ape would give birth to a human, then go back to giving birth to apes again.

I was reading somewhere that there is a theory that says all the energy that gets pulled into a black hole comes back out of a white hole. Then it said the problem with this theory is that white holes haven't been discovered yet. What if the stars are white holes? Although we have theories, we have never proven exactly what causes a star to burn. What if it is the light and energy that is pulled into black holes? Another part of my theory is that the universe is like two pieces of paper. What if most of the stars are on the top piece, and most of the black holes are on the bottom piece? If my theory is true, we would live on the top piece. In the space between the two pieces are wormholes that connect the black holes and stars. Now, what if these two pieces of the universe slide back and forth? Whenever a black hole and star aren't aligned anymore, the star runs out of energy and collapses into a black hole. Meanwhile, all the of energy that was in the wormhole comes out of the black hole and becomes a new star? This star becomes larger as it begins to align with a black hole on the other piece of the universe. This seems to work with the life cycle of a star. Does my new theory sound realistic, or do you think it has problems? Please let me know. Thank you.

It can be explained if you think about how it was caused by God, who has unlimited power. By believing in someone with unlimited power, you can believe in anything. However, evolution doesn't make sense because it says unrealistic things can happen without someone with unlimited power. It says the universe just magically appears and begins creating itself.

We just don't see complex things such as computers form without being built by someone intelligent. Why would life form without someone intelligent even after billions of years? By the way, a creationist web site said that the Earth can only be a few million years old. It said that there would be much more salt in the ocean water if Earth was older.
-
According to The Bible, the Earth did exist before God started creating things. It said that the Earth was dark and empty. There were no plants, animals, water, or light. I read the New International Version. The exact phrase was, "the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground" I guess that is the same thing as dirt.
-
Ok, I guess it didn't make sense when I said evolution states that humans appeared from nowhere. I understand that this was over billions of years. However, during this time, there was nothing to really guide the process. Even with natural selection, there was no intelligent force to guide it to something as complex as humans. For example, if you don't clean your house, things will keep getting messier until you get organized and clean up. There would be trash on the floor until you pick it up. The trash would never automatically go into the trash can. The point of this example is that everything becomes less organized until something intelligent makes it organized.

Matter could have always existed, but it was changed to something else. For example, turning a lump of silicon into a computer chip. According to The Bible, God took dirt and created the first man. The matter would have always existed, but it was changed into a person.
-
Something had to have existed forever. What could have created the universe if nothing was here before? Besides, doesn't the law of conservation of mass say that matter can't be created? Doesn't that mean that all the matter in the universe has been here forever?
-
Yes, but this thread was created by something very intelligent (me!) it didn't appear out of nowhere like evolution suggests humans did. Why are people saying that eyes aren't that special? Our eyes have a higher quality picture output than any digital camera or TV. This is obvious because if they made a digital camera or TV that was higher quality than our eyes, we wouldn't even notice without using a zoom feature. Looking at a high definition TV doesn't look as good as real life, so our eyes must be better than the TV or the cameras they used to film whatever you are watching.

Why is this so difficult for scientists to believe? Saying that God has always existed is the same thing as saying the laws of physics have always existed. Scientists have no problem saying the laws of physics have always existed. Anyway, evolution says that complex things just appear without any form of intelligence. Yes, there is a lot of time involved in the theory of evolution, but it still doesn't explain how things became so complex. If we could speed up time, we aren't going to see a computer pop out of a lump of silicon. Even if the computer forms one piece at a time, somebody will have to be building the computer. Someone might argue that creationists believe that God came out of nowhere. The truth is that we believe that God has always existed, just like the laws of physics. Saying that intelligence has always existed makes sense. Saying it appeared from nowhere does not make sense to me.

I do understand the theory of evolution. It started with a few elements. I don't remember which ones, I think it was Nitrogen, Hydrogen, Carbon, and a few others. Anyway, they formed into Amino Acids. The Amino Acids evolved into a type of protocell. The protocell evolved into a cell. Then you get microscopic organisms, then larger and more complex organisms until you get humans. According to the theory of evolution, each time something evolves, it is a mutation. If the mutated organism survives, it will reproduce with the mutation in the DNA code. As you can see, both my Biology teacher and I understand the theory of evolution. What we don't understand is how these random mutations could form something as complex as a human brain. Science can't even figure out how a brain completely works. It seems to complex to be created by an unguided force.
-
My Biology teacher is a great teacher. He knows a lot about Biology and evolution. He taught us the theory in detail and explained what evolutionists believed. He said that humans being too complex for evolution was his personal opinion, and he only said it after he finished teaching us about everything evolutionists believed. After he taught us both sides of the story, I agree with his personal opinion. According to evolution, there is no form of intelligence guiding natural selection, so how could it make something as complex as humans? My Biology teacher and I believe that animals, and even humans may change over time. For example, animals may change into different colors, and become immune to certain diseases. However, how can we evolve from basic elements into what we are today without some type of intelligent force guiding the process?
-
Both my Biology teacher and I agree that humans are too complex to have evolved from basic elements. Just look at how complex our eyes are. Evolution would be like throwing silicon and glass into a container, shaking it, and pulling out the world's most powerful digital camera. I can't imagine this ever happening even after shaking the container for millions of years. I'm not even talking about how complex our brains are. If you took all the basic elements that are inside a computer, they would never bond together to make a computer system without the help of something intelligent. What is your opinion about this?

Would it be possible to stop or reverse time with your mind if you really concentrate?
-
This is probably going to sound a little crazy, but I think I learned how to change the speed of time with my mind. If I play music at a low volume, I seem to be able to adjust the speed with my mind if I really focus. I listen to each word and sound of a music instrument in a song, and I can make it sound slightly faster or slower. I don't know if it is just my imagination, or if I'm really changing the speed. The only way it works is if the volume is so low that I can barely hear it. Try this yourselves and tell me if you can get it to work.

The Bible never says that the Earth is flat. This was just a misunderstanding between what certain words meant when The Bible was written, and what they mean today. For more information, read the article at http://christiananswers.net/q-eden/edn-c015.html and it will explain. If you continue to read articles on the ChristianAnswers web site, you will see that there has never been a statement in The Bible that has been proven wrong. The ChristianAnswers web site analyzes The Bible from a scientific point of view, and explains in detail many of the things you all are confused about. Anyway, we seem to be getting a little off topic. The point is that most scientists seem closed minded in many ways. All they want to do is come up with some big equation and type it into a scientific calculator. Why don't they just accept that they don't know all the answers? Regardless of whether or not there are ghosts or the "supernatural", there are things that can't be explained. Scientists should open their mind and try to figure out what the unexplained is without saying it is impossible because they've never been able to explain it yet.

I'm sorry that I was critical of evolution. Everyone has an opinion, and I respect the fact that everyone is allowed to post their opinion in this forum. As a human, I can't think of any way to provide scientific evidence that a particular religion is 100% true. It just seems that many facts that are stated in The Bible are being proven true. When The Bible was written, there was no technology that would determine some of the facts that are stated. If you really analyze The Bible, you will find statements that have been scientifically proven only recently. For example, there are multiple places in The Bible that indicate that the Earth is round. This was not scientifically known at the time The Bible was written. There is another part that says the sky we see has 3 layers. The first two are Earth's atmosphere and outer space. Science has not discovered the third layer yet, although The Bible says it is heaven. How would the people at the time The Bible was written have known that the atmosphere ended and outer space began? I read that almost 100% of all people have had some type of encounter with the "supernatural" in several ghost books and TV shows. They say that people see things they can't explain, and just think it is something they can explain. For example, as soon as people saw my pictures, they started telling me there was probably something wrong with my camera. My camera has never taken strange pictures before, and it hasn't done it again. I took these pictures a couple years ago. Why would it only take strange pictures at a place that is believed to be "haunted"? There is a lot more to Shigeru Miyamoto's speech than just video games. He has always been fascinated with the world around him. The biggest inspiration for his speech was from when he was just a kid. He was walking on the huge farm his parents owned. They said that after the field, there was nothing but woods until the end of the property. He went walking, and discovered a huge lake right in the middle of his property. Nobody ever knew it existed until he saw it. When he told everyone, nobody believed him until they saw it themselves. Isn't that similar to what this topic is about?
-
How come so many people are saying that anything that is considered "supernatural" is not real? I'm not the only person who has taken pictures that look like ghosts. Many of you believe that a few elements can clump together and then create life that has evolved into humans. I don't want to get off topic, but scientists come up with the craziest ideas they can't even fully explain, then they don't believe in something that almost all people experience sometime in their lives. I've read in multiple sources that almost 100% of all people have had some type of an encounter with something "supernatural" but they just don't want to admit it. They tell themselves that they just imagined it, then they block it from their memory. The producer of Nintendo is Shigeru Miyamoto. He is famous for giving the speech, "What if you walk along and everything that you see is more than what you see -- the person in the T-shirt and slacks is a warrior, the space that appears empty is a secret door into an alternate world? What if, on a crowded street, you look up and see something appear that should not, given what we know, be there? You either shake your head and dismiss it or you accept that there is much more to the world than we think. Perhaps it really is a doorway to another place. If you choose to go inside you might find many unexpected things." Regardless of what your opinion is, I think you should keep this speech in mind when talking about the "supernatural" world.

How can you tell if they have clothes or not? Most ghost pictures are orbs or just the outline of a human. They don't have very much detail.

How exactly does our brain allow us to realize that we are here? How are we actually awake? All I've been able to research is electrical impulses. I read that it is similar to the binary code of a computer. I think the brain has to be something more complex than that. Our brain seems to create our reality of the world. We actually know that we are here in the universe. Computers don't appear to know that. What does the brain have that a computer doesn't? We seem to be able to communicate within ourselves and actually create feelings based on our own thoughts. Electrical impulses is how our brain processes data, but what allows us to be aware of what is processed? What are your thoughts about this?
-
How is that possible? What would have to happen to allow a solid object to pass through another solid object? Would the object have to split apart into individual atoms, or could it stay the way it is?
-
No, my Physics book said that gravity is like a magnetic field. That's all it said. Then it went on to talk about some mathematical formulas. It never said what creates gravity, or what creates any other forces.
-
Oops, I meant to say magnetic field, not electromagnetic field.
