  1. ! Moderator Note Then there is no point this thread staying open. Do not create any more threads where you claim you are going to tell us something and then fail to do so.
  2. ! Moderator Note My opinion (no other mods have commented on your report yet) is that helping out with this sort of experimental project does not need to be constrained as much as Homework Help questions. The difference, to my mind, is that there is not a "right answer" that you can give; almost by definition, all you can do is help the OP towards a solution. I can't see a problem with asking for advice from people with some expertise in the subject.
  3. Proof by intimidation?
  4. I disagree. The theory is normally introduced by a series of simple thought experiments showing how measurements of space and time are affected when viewed from different frames of reference. This can introduce the relevant math at each stage and gradually build up to more complex scenarios (e.g. involving moving charges an magnetic fields). Personally, I found your approach, leaping straight in to a complex scenario, introducing the Earth and Moon and then saying no more about them, etc. to be confusing and unhelpful. I can't really see it says anything much about special relativity. It seems to say no more than is known from Galilean relativity and the symmetries that make physics independent of spatial or temporal transformation. Obviously, different approaches work for different people. There may well be a subset who find your approach appealing. And there will be others who find a purely mathematical derivation more helpful.
  5. And this attitude of claiming that a statement of the obvious fact that people have proper jobs to do (rather than spend time investigating things for which there is insufficient evidence to draw any conclusion) is "dismissal" or "ridiculing" is the problem with UFO nuts. It as been done lots of times. The answer is always "there are plausible mundane explanations (but sometimes not information to be sure of which)" or "there is insufficient information to reach any conclusion". What you mean is "an investigation that reaches the conclusions I want has never been done". Well, there is a reason for that. Science doesn't reach the conclusions you want; even if there isn't enough evidence to reach any other conclusion. And do you have any evidence for that? No, of course not. Except the fact that no one has found the evidence you want. There is no cover up because there is nothing to cover up. And who is going to pay for it? There is absolutely no reason to think either of those things, based on the evidence available.
  6. Interesting research. Hopefully, with more sky survey data from various sources, more possible stellar-mass black hole candidates will be identified. I think the novelty is that we know have the data to try an identify smaller BHs
  7. Please show the calculations to support this. (You seem to have missed them out in the previous posts)
  8. MultiSingularity has been banned as a sock puppet of scifimath.
  9. ! Moderator Note Please don’t copy entire articles (copyright)
  10. I think you'll find they were:
  11. ! Moderator Note OK. You had your chance. There is no science here. Do not bring this up again.
  12. Including your "sky spirit"
  13. Don't worry, it is just self-induced
  14. "sky spirit" Meanwhile, back in the real world....
  15. ! Moderator Note You need to do better than random unsupported claims. Otherwise the thread will be closed. Where is the math for this model showing that it matches what we observe?
  16. ! Moderator Note OK. I have split off a load of posts that I found pretty offensive. They were also largely off topic. The subject here is SPORT. Stick to it.
  17. ! Moderator Note This thread is going downhill fast. There is no need for this sort of thing. (Yes, yes. I know all about "yer mom" jokes. It is still inappropriate.)
  18. ! Moderator Note This is, as you say, off topic. If you want to discuss this, it should be done elsewhere. There is already a thread on Ukraine and Russia; it might be a better fit there (but I haven't been following it, so don't blame me if it turns out to be off topic there, too!) https://www.scienceforums.net/topic/117160-ukraine-and-russia/page/4/
  19. ! Moderator Note No. Moved to Speculations. Please note the special rules for this part of the forum; in particular, the need to provide support for your claims.
  20. ! Moderator Note This forum is not here to advertise your blog. If you wish to to discuss something, then discuss it here. Also, "personal views about time" would not appear to belong in physics. (Moved to Philosophy for the moment.)
  21. Did anyone say that? As you are not providing any sort of rational or scientific argument, I will request that this thread is closed.
  22. ! Moderator Note This is not Science News: moved to Speculations. It is a rule of this forum that must be able to discuss the topic here on the forum. That means (1) not making people follow links to outside websites and (2) posting in English.
  23. Normally only if the introduced species is causing damage to the ecosystem. And eliminating the invasive species (normally introduced by human action, in the first place) should not lead to extinction. I am not aware of any instance of invasive species that no longer survive in their original environment. Are you? EDIT: just realised this is an old thread!
  24. How does a simplified diagram become detrimental to the analysis of magnetism?
  25. That is why science doesn’t really deal with “truth”. It creates useful models to describe the world. There can be two or more “correct” models of something, which may even contradict each other. For example, in Newtonian mechanics & gravity, space and time are absolute and independent. That model works really well. But in relativity they are relative measurements and interdependent. That model can give more accurate results in some cases. There are models where space and time emerge from something else. The model works. Using words like “mystical” doesn’t change that.
