  5. can somebody help? prove or disprove, If G is a group in which every proper subgroup is cyclic, then G is cyclic. in additon, can u explain cyclic

  9. let G be an agelian group such that the operation on G is denoted additively. Show that {a is an element of G| 2a = 0} os a subgroup of G. Compute the subgroup for G =13. let G be an abelian group. show that the set of all elements of G of finite order forms a subgroup of G. in addition to helping with these questions can you pls explain an abelian group, i know it is commutable but what does that actually mean. also what does additively mean? is the main idea to show 1) closed 2) identity 3) inverse to prove it is a subgroup? thanks so much!!

  11. can somebody pls help with the following: Let G={1, -1,i,-i} where i^2 = -1. Show that G is an abelian group and give the group table.
  12. thank u, appreciate the input also I am not worried bc all this math stuff for fun I ask questions bc I do really want to understand & it can difficult at times when u r learning on your own
  13. can somebody pls help me figure this problem out?? f : Z SUB 7 --> Z SUB 7, f([n] SUB 7) = [2n] SUB 7 is this one below correct?? f : R --> R, f(x) = 2x + 1 f'(x) = 2 > 0 and f(x) = 2x + 1 passes the horizontal line test so f is 1 to 1 but how do I figure out if it is onto?? is this one correct below?? f : Z -->Z, f(n) = 2n + 1 f'(n)= 2 > 0 and f(n) = 2n + 1 passes the horizontal line test so f is 1 to 1 but how do I figure out if it is onto?? thank you
