I think the current belief of scientists is that entropy is increasing throughout the universe, and that it ends in a big freeze untold trillions of years from now. However, end suggests something sudden and final, which is not what the big freeze predicts. Resurrection in what sense? Do you mean individual resurrection as the Bible suggests, or something else?

No one knows, it's just an idea that cannot be proved or disproved. Who knows, maybe in a couple of thousand years a cult will have grown that believe it, but it seems unlikely we will ever know for sure.

There is tall grass wherein a predator may hide is a thought process necessary for survival. If we always analyzed how the grass grew and which path the predator took, we would be food before we finished causal thoughts. Correlations are important, but some people seem inept or unwilling to think about causes and make rational conclusions, especially with a complex chain of causes and effects. True, but at least some memories are coded within interconnections of neurons, especially synapses. Perhaps ET could recover the memories form that structure and reanimate the clone, with memories. It would not be the same person, but might be indistinguishable. We certainly do not know enough yet to say one way or another, and it seems a long shot, but...

Everybody gets negative rep points. There is no point in complaining, some people will give you additional negatives, because they like to hurt people. In general negatives are hard to avoid and positives are hard to acquire. My advice is always post on topic, always be kind to others, always use clear accurate language, and don't take either positive or negative points too seriously. Easiest way to get positive points is to make people laugh. -
Medical science might be capable of removing DNA from a corpse, cloning it, and rearing a clone. Not exactly what you suggested, but combined with 3D printing of cells (now being done for burn victims), recovering an adult might be possible. Of course, such a recovered adult would not have memories of the original. Maybe ET could also recover memories. Proof of a god is a difficult challenge, IMO more difficult than figuring out how the Universe works, and we haven't completed that project, yet.

IMO fission materials should not be flown in the atmosphere; moving it on the ground is dangerous enough.

Well, since there is no current proof, I cannot imagine all the things that would constitute proof. For example, suppose you said,"Monday morning I will pray supplies will be delivered to the International Space Station without a rocket delivering them." And, NASA confirmed that after you prayed, supplies did show up on the International Space Station, a miracle. However, better proof would be several miracles, and not things that can occur or things that have occurred in the past.

Since the existence of a god has not been proved or disproved, there is a possibility someone will prove god exists. A belief does not require proof.
-
Exactly, lack of evidence proves nothing; only opinion remains. I accept the possibility of such a proof, but I believe it is impossible.

Yep, I was abused because of my religious family, and made me realize that a religious person is not necessarily a good person. Thus, I searched for a way to be better, and I read the bible critically instead of with reverence. I realized the bible and all religious documents have been written by people, and that no one knows whether there s a god. I found logic, reason, philosophy and science help live ones life as good as possible. I have found no rational argument for or against there being a god; it is an unanswerable question. And, there is no evidence one way or another. IMO anyone who thinks they have evidence is delusional.

I didn't loose my faith; I tossed it like a stomach full rotten drugs.

A related question must be answered to know the answer in the Topic of this post. What are the limits to energy storage in super capacitors, especially energy density and energy/mass. If the energy density and energy/mass are similar or better than liquid fuels, then I believe it is possible; otherwise, not. The electric charge could power a laser to heat air inside a jet engine, or some unspecified working fluid inside a rocket engine to create propulsion. The difference between jet and rocket is simply the rocket must carry the working fluid, instead of it being air. For example, a rocket might carry water which would be vaporized by a laser in the combustion chamber and be vented backward through a rocket nozzle. Does anyone know if these calculations have been done, or if anything related has been published. If so where? TYVM. I know some experiments were done with a ground based laser aimed upward at a flying vehicle (i.e., rocket).

It does not say how much effect whales have on climate, but the following video explains that some whales feed deep in the ocean, surface and spread poop at the surface that contains Fe and N, which promotes plankton growth. Plankton absorbs CO2; thus, whales affect climate; fish feed on plankton, which means whales increase fish numbers. See: http://vimeo.com/112551821 It seems to me that OTEC (Ocean Thermal Electric Conversion) also pulls nutrients from deep in the ocean and promotes plankton growth. Although the economics of generating electricity with OTEC are poor, the added benefits of increased plankton, CO2 sequestration, increased fish population, and fresh water production, etc. might make it viable. There are always some citizens of the USA who are anti immigration, and sometimes like now it is strong and vocal. Here is one cartoonist's comment that refers to the Europeans who came to the Americas few hundred years ago, were greeted by the native "Indians," who helped them survive by offering food. Then, as the European immigrants grew in number they "stole" the land from the natives. That is how living natives view the history of America. "Thanksgiving" is a US holiday that celebrates a bountiful harvest.
