  1. I think gravity Is just a product of the strong electromagnetic force . after all the electromagnetic force is what causes the dent in space time which everything revolves around.
  2. I think I get what you are thinking. I picture it this way. The ultimate speed of light would have to be found at a place where atoms of matter move the slowest in the universe. the place with the weakest gravitational field.in other words , a sun in the furthest orbit of its galaxy that is traveling around the weakest not very dense center of a galaxy in the universe. If you took an atomic clock which operates by vibrating an atom 9 billion times by hitting it with a microwave(the definition of one second ) to this place .This would be the fastest 9 billion vibration (one second ) in the universe. At this place you would still measure light speed as you would any where in the universe but this frame of reference would be the fastest second in the universe. their is a speed limit to light. its just that matter will always slow down in direct proportion to light.
  3. The speed of light can not be the speed of time because time is just motion of matter in space and motion of matter is different(relative)all over the universe. if you were traveling at a high rate of speed close to the speed of light you would actually be getting really close to catching up to a light beam although you would not notice it because all of the speed that you gained would have also slowed all of your atoms down as well . you will always measure the speed of light the same even if your almost going as fast as it.
  4. I am sure you are correct about the microwave.do you think my explanation paints a good picture of time dilation. I thought this might help people understand it better. a micro wave still travels at the speed of light just not the same frequency
  5. I just cant except that consciousness can effect the events happening in the universe. I think their are variables to this that we just are not seeing. I do think that when someone actually figures this out it is going to be very powerful.
  6. yes the double slit experiment is what I was referring to
  7. I got this concept of time dilation like a brick upside the head one day. I was reading about one of the smallest units of time that we all use.it is the second and how we derive at one second.an atomic clock uses a laser beam to vibrate an atom 9 billion times. This is one second in an atomic clock. If you put the clock in a high gravitational field or accelerate it through space like putting it on an air plane the laser still vibrates the atom 9 billion times.it just vibrates the atom slower because it is traveling through space faster in the plane than if it were sitting still on earth.one earth second is like 10 thousand years near the center of the galaxy. If you were at the center of the galaxy you would not be able to tell the slow down and you would still measure the speed of light the same as you did on earth.it is just that everything slowed down even the laser slowed down just not as much as your atoms.
  8. I've been reading about an experiment with light that was done a while ago. It had to do with trying to figure out if light is a particle or a wave.in this experiment they found that light can be both a particle and a wave. The most interesting thing I have ever heard of came out of this experiment. When they tried to physically observe what direction the particles were actually going they collapsed the wave function of the particle or in other words they changed the physical properties of light just by a person being aware. If their is no person being aware of the experiment then light behaves differently. wow. anyone have any idea what is going on with this?
  9. I got really interested in this subject when I read about how we derived at one of the smallest units of time that we all use (the second).the atomic clock uses a laser beam to vibrate an atom 9 billion times. This is a second. If you put the same atomic clock near the center of the galaxy, one second would take like 10 thousand years on earths frame of reference pretty cool stuff.
  10. Thank you for the answer.it seems to me then that their is no such thing as time. The past has already happened and the future hasn't happened yet. Their is only now. Their is only motion of matter in space and that motion is different all over the universe depending on the gravitational field that the matter is in.am I on the right track?
  11. I have heard that when astronauts travel to outer space they travel forward in time into the future and are a few seconds younger when they return to earth. Is this true or are they just ageing slower due to the difference in their velocity to ours. What is actually physically happening to the atoms in their bodies?
