  1. Solargraphy is extremely long exposure photography. I was wondering if cameras could be set up on say, on satellites, and at different elevations around the planet, to take combined, long term photographs of the entire planet, portions of nature, and, more importantly, human populations. If we had a photograph showing human activity over the course of say 10 years, it would probably be blurred beyond recognition, but what if we used high resolution, or even a 10-year video being sped up to a speed of minutes, would we be able to retrieve data from the different patterns of motions? I was wondering if things like this might be able to provide statistical data about everything, provided we have technology capable of picking up enough detail, which could then be used to make predictions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long-exposure_photography#Solargraphy
  2. I gather from news that there is a fair amount of scientists working warp drive technology: http://www.scienceworldreport.com/articles/7120/20130527/scientists-refine-warp-drive-concept-using-space-time-distortion.htm So my question: is there anyone here with a comprehensive enough knowledge of science history to tell whether there was some technology being worked on at some point by x amount of scientists and getting x funding, comparable what is being done in the area of warp drive. I'm asking this cause I want to get a rough estimation of whether they'll be able to build one of these things within my life time. It seems a lot of people think it's possible. So maybe it's just a matter of funding, time and manpower? Quantum computers are almost here too (almost practical that is).
