I have been reading this week on the medical advancement.First I will like to point out cancer was not problem before becuse most people did not live past 45 150 years ago Look at the population stats 150 years ago to now we are almost almost to point that some thing has to be down to lower the population or pack up and move to other planet . People are almost living to 100 now so cancer is big problem now .The invention of automobile ,machines and robots in factories along with the invention of TV ,computer and supermarket has exploded a epidemic of obesity and diabetes. We no longer need to cut down trees and burn the wood for heat and light or cook are food. And all this cuts down on are work. We no longer need a garden !!! We get in are car and drive to the supermarket and buy are food of week!! This has exploded a epidemic of obesity & diabetes :eek: And the jobs are becoming less labour now and more office work and IT work .No longer we need turn burn wood for heat or light . Has there ar more machines and robots in factories and more service sector work more obesity & diabetes .We no longer have walk school or work:eek:' But major food and water shortage in Africa and the Middle East and some areas in South America and China has made big drain on resources.The US ,UK and Canada cannot help the poor in their country than help those other countries.. With human population out of control there is more need for trees and this is doing away of the rainforest !!! We need trees for wood to build homes and we need trees for paper and this a major problem. In areas in the Middle East and some areas in South America and very much so Southeast Asia people are living on top of people ? The country is to small and too many people and city like Shanghai ,Beijing ,Hong Kong ,Chongqing , Mumbai so on is so dense it is a big problem. I was just reading today that they use the same math to make pictures of space look better has the same math to make a picture look better. For the reason above .You have to test and try it out so when real thing comes you know what to do.The point is going up in space and back cost too much money and only countries that want to spend that money is the US , China and Russia . ((( keep mind that China is still trying to catch up to the US and this will take time )) Going in space and back is a big challenge and is not like getting in your car or getting in plane.It can take 10 to 15 years just to design , engineer and test a new rocket. It is not some thing in 1 or 2 years you can design , engineer and test a new rocket. Going in space is like going in rafts now we just learning how to get in space and make it safe and bring the cost down. In movies and scfi shows they make look so easy this not the case.

From what the other poster was saying there seems to be a slow down of drugs being made now.The reply was that we got drugs for the easy stuff to treat .Now it is to find drugs for the hard stuff too treat . I was saying to try herbs , spices ,tress ,plants ,flowers , microorganisms , incests ,shrubs so on.The reply I got was they are looking into this but it takes time and there is not enough resources to try all living matter in 10 years. The reply I got was all the different species of plants, fungus, bacteria, and insect and all living matter is so astronomical that they do not have the resources to try this in 10 years even 80 years. They are looking into it but it takes very long time do to the lack of resources . So the reply is yes they are trying every thing they are looking very hard to find cure. People tell me most all drugs you see now did not exit 200 years ago .Other people say the slow down of drugs is also do to testing .They come out with new drug but have do all kinds of testing before it comes out to make sure people do not get sick.The testing takes a long time. Others say what is really progressing fast now is cloning .stem cell and genetic engineering and this will transform society like the dark age to now with medical advancement. I don't know what book ,web site or article to read about how drug companies work , how they look for a cure and what they are working on.

I would not hold your breath .Even if they did make one it would not be that much bigger than your car ,Not nice for scfi TV. The big problem is propulsion and why we have to use stages .Now some are working on plane that takes of using a jet and when get high to XY the rocket kicks in. The DC-X and the X-33 had major problems and that is why they scrap it.

The TV shows star treck and star wars that show those big space ships or SSTO make me laugh. No propulsion system today allows SSTO like those scfi shows. May be in 20 years from now we may get a very very very small crude SSTO but will be nothing like the scfi shows.The big problem is propulsion and that is why we must use stages not a SSTO .There has been some work on very small crude SSTO but even than the propulsion does not allow it. Why will the scfi shows not get it right?

Well I must say the technology we have now there is not much we can do.The TV shows that shows how to destry a asteroid the technology we have will not do that.

From what people tell me the alternate energy has of now will not keep up with the demad .Now in the future the cost of the alternate energy may go way down and you may get more electricity out of it. People say wind power , tind power ,solar power , dams so on are more powerful now than before and cost less. That say you have city population 500,000 you may need 5 solar power plants now not like before 12 solar power plants , If it was coal , gas or oil only one power plant. This proves that alternate energy has of now cannot keep up with demad but may be in the future they may fix this problem. Some people say cold fusion or fusion power will save the world one day.This is good stuff to look into. Some way out scientist think you can get electricity from lightning or the ionosphere and claim that Nikola Tesla was working on tower to tap into this energy but got paid off.

Is it just me or has other people seen this too.Looking at alot of message boards and yahoo groups , yahoo answers there seems to be alot of lack of science.I mean there are some smart people :-)but than there is alot of people that lack science. Even the news ,media and government lack science.And there seems to be a big lack of science how the human body works and medicine. And there seems to be lack of facts given. One person ask quetion what is step cell and person lacks science say it is killing a baby for cloning .Than all other people read it and when next quetion comes up what is step cell the same thing happence and more people learn that fact that is not true. I had one person say DNA is not in the cell but cell in the DNA.Other people saying to me I hate medicine that is not natural. And other saying cloning and stem cell is bad that is not what god wants and you playing god and is not natural.But have no problems with organ transplants , going to doctor ,taking drugs or having electronic implant. No problem with AI research ,electronics in humans , organ transplants so on. I had one person that does not even know what red blood cells are , white blood cells are and platelets are.Than I hear people say if the moon is gone all life on earth is dead ,NASA is going crash moon or destry it today. People these days seem to lack science and make up their own science like DNA is not in cell but cell in DNA with out saying I do not know the answer.

Why does everyone bash traditional medicine? Have they not look into the properties of trees ,herbs , spices ,flowers , microorganisms , incests ,shrubs so on and see if it good or bad? wages are determined by supply and demand.It takes lot of schooling to become a professor ,lawyer , judges ,doctor , scientists and alot of people do not have what it takes to be one.If you want to be professor ,lawyer , judges ,doctor , scientists say than to your self eat ,sleep and study , learn and study and study and no time to go out with friends or party or you will not do well in school. People from China or India know how hard life is ,how conpetive the world is , is there enough money to put food on the table or roof over their head , they come to the US for a better life and they are use to working hard and the government and parents teach discipline , give them high standards and promote higher learning. You what to be a professor ,lawyer , judges ,doctor , scientists than from the time you get up to the time you go to bad read and read and just may be you get 80% of understanding what you raed. It takes alot of work to be a scientist or doctor and most people do not want to spend 10 to 15 years in school to be one.No time go out with friends or watch TV. Sure there are geeks who are very very smart and read some thing once and never have to go back and read it again or centric doctor or scientists that love it so much and so consumed in the work and anti- social that people call them geeks or nerds. I don't know why Cuba has more doctors more money the goverment puts into it, people working at walmart in the US get more pay than a doctor in Cuba by 3 times ,lack of enrolment mark in med school. You need 98% mark to be a doctor in the US and only 85% in Cuba ,lack of medical equipment in Cub like MRI's or CT' scan thant every hospital in the US has to have , old equipment , all the GDP in Cuba goes to doctors and nothing else. I'm not sure but I do know Cuba is poor country and people get paid very little money skilled or not.They have alot of doctors but I do not know how well the doctors are train in Cuba or how outaded the hospitals are do they have MRI's or CT' scan so on.What is their health standards and do they have high med school standards so on. Those third world countries may have alot of doctors but the pay is very very very bad and have outaded medical equipment ,low health standards ,and do not need high marks in med schools . I'm sure this is a conplex quetions why healthcare cost so much and why there is a lack of doctors has there are many reason why . I explain about China and India.. That face it grade 12 is going to get you no where and 3 or 5 years of school above grade 12 is nothing .There is a little culture happing in US that school sucks , it hard to learn and lot of work and afraid. Doing the apollo there was interest I want to work for NASA or be a scientist and people got interest in space and space rockets but the past 30 years we are declining The schools ,government and parents are not promoting medicine and science enough and do too school costing so much and culture of youth it hard to learn and lot of work be are not doing it.

You talking about trade debt that is because the US imports more than they export.The fed debt is the goverment spends money like the world coming to the end. The US is changing from manufacturering industry to a service based economy the problem is commodity ,resources or service an other country wants is what makes wealth and makes that country rich. Remove commodity ,resources or a service an other country wants = no wealth gain. There is shortage of professors ,teachers ,lawyers and judges. But I blame the goverment for this. Why is too many doctors in Cuba and why does China and India pump out more skilled work.Kids from China and India work hard and get into more skilled work. In the US science and medicine is lacking in schools .Look at NASA and rocket research and the droup out rates. May be people are scared of skilled learning they think it is very hard and they will not get the help they need.
