Proceeding from Hawking’s idea that the Big Bang evolved as a “-- a quantum fluctuation with literally no pre-existing state”. Entropy is the key to everything.
By entropy, I mean the appearance of the second law of thermodynamics which established to arrow of time.
Both had to evolve at the null point when there was nothing --- only the quantum fluctuation in an absolute pre-space time void.
The key to the creation of the universe was the evolution of the Second Law of Thermodynamics (i.e. entropy) as a result of that quantum fluctuation.
In short, perhaps the introduction of the arrow of time (i.E. ENTROPY) from a quantum fluctuation (of some sort) WAS the catalyst for the Big Bang and our otherwise highly improbable existence.
I propose that the source of all energy (and therefore all matter) in the universe is a consequence and manifestation of the birth of entropy itself: Entropic force. This primordial entropic force appearing as it did as a totally organized, non-chaotic entity de novo, behaved like a mass object, appearing in the new space-time and had an inertia which proliferated exponentially with increasing entropy and evolving chaos components. Thus, entropy at its initial appearance acted a force-mass with attending momentum and inertia, affecting the evolution of spacetime and “birthing” quantum gravity and then strings of harmonically stabilized energy leading to particles. As a consequence of its enormous momentum and determined by its equally enormous potential evolved as it did within an absolute energy vacuum.

Entropy, matter, and cosmology by I. PRIGOGINE et al
ABSTRACT :
“The role of irreversible processes corresponding to creation of matter in general relativity is investigated. The use of Landau-Lifshitz pseudotensors together with conformal (Minkowski) coordinates suggests that this creation took place in the early universe at the stage of the variation of the conformal factor.
The entropy production in this creation process is calculated. It is shown that these dissipative processes lead to the possibility of cosmological models that start from empty conditions and gradually build up matter and entropy.
Gravitational entropy takes a simple meaning as associated to the entropy that is necessary to produce matter. This leads to an extension of the third law of thermodynamics, as now the zero point of entropy becomes the space-time structure out of which matter is generated.
The theory can be put into a convenient form using a supplementary "C" field in Einstein's field equations. The role of the C field is to express the coupling between gravitation and matter leading to irreversible entropy production”.
