  1. Gents, what do you think of this in relation to the main topic? http://www.generativeart.com/2000/MCGUIRE.HTM
  2. Ok I admit, I was sleeping during most of my lectures...but I'm sure I was awake to hear the professor say that the electron ( or hole) never actually went anywhere...rather , another electron entirely appeared. or has that idea been upgraded since I last paid attention?
  3. Yep, he gained an Empire but lost the woman he loved... hey wait.... that story sounds familiar...now where have I heard that plot before......
  4. and from the boys at NASA... Who also support some of your ideas, as you well know.. http://www.resa.net/nasa/origins_life.htm
  5. and here... PS, that last one is one of those exoskeletal life forms that I will never trust! http://www.microscopy-uk.org.uk/mag/indexmag.html?http://www.microscopy-uk.org.uk/mag/wimsmall/sundr.html
  6. LOL I knew you would say exactly that. just trying to close that gap between "sterile" and "life". Now I just need to reduce your concept of "life" down to it's most sparse.
  7. and you might like this... http://www.its.caltech.edu/~atomic/snowcrystals/
  8. ah. I think I can help with that one. I have never been able to figure out how people can crochet such magnificent patterns in lace using just a few sterile knots...but there you go.
  9. Hey don’t underestimate the value of misplaced patriotic idiocy, it keeps the taxes rolling in form those 52 states.....
  10. no...I mean .. what do the stats say the internet is becoming?
  11. but American Graffiti was good...?
  12. Which is apparently unimportant because if you ask any woman you will find out that men don’t listen anyway.
  13. This was my speculation as to why the A.I. “Alice” refuses to acknowledge the passage of time, even though it has a running time index .
  14. Agree. What was your interpretation of the word "determinism"?
  15. ok so you have made a parallel between the plough and the internet. a technology that enables you to utilize land more efficiently compared with a technology that enables you to utilize information (accurate or inaccurate) more efficiently. So what type of information do statistics say that the internet is being used for at the moment?
  16. So what small part did Spielberg direct? One thing. Remember the bit in the first star wars when Darth Vader is choking the imperial officer at a distance by using telekinesis and by making that small pinching motion with his hands…. And Peter Cushing tells him to quit it… And gives him lip about”that sad old religion”…. That seems to indicate a totally different pecking order of power (than we are led to believe in the latest film)… Hmmmmm.
  17. Guys, serious question for you. do you realise what question you are asking? do you see that you are asking if human reality is able to be represented by numbers? will you confirm that for me so I know you know.
  18. Oh so it's you. look, I want to complain. There are too many advertisements on TV, can you do something about that please. Also people seem to be totally distracted by acquiring more and more material possessions. it's chewing up a great deal of oil. and computers, they are being used by children for entertainment rather than education...can you make the little monsters play outside with dirt or something. S.P.Q.R.
  19. Starbucks and McDonalds have already taken over, Nations are so yesterday. Corporations are the new dynasties. Yay!
  20. Hang on a second, I'm not signing up until someone tells me what the pay and hours are like. I'm just going to be a figurehead right... Smile and wave... forget my lines...laugh at inappropriate moments. Sure...I can do that! Do I get a body double for public assassinations and the like? can I borrow him for practical jokes? And I don't want that grey jet...(I hate grey)... it's a blue jet or the deal is off. As for my policies...I will just let the usual people make all the important decisions from their entrenched positions.
  21. Breasts are important because if a woman has long hair falling over her face you can always tell what side to talk to.
  22. It was a long film, but I didn’t get bored with it even for a second. It was pretty exciting all the way through... in fact I even felt a bit drained after it! I'm not that convinced that the actual motivational psychology behind the characters was that accurate... but well... I guess I will just throw it in with flying cars and laser swords. Three events in the film would make it unsuitable for children.
  23. Maybe there were two comets? One for softies and one for hardies. Bugs are kind of strange like that. I could never trust any life form with it's skeleton on the outside. so you aren’t thinking life originated on another planet....but rather that it's somehow happening in the expanses of space...?
