Isn't the air ionised thus becoming a conductor? and in the electron gun, arent the electrons tricked out by a nice tempting charged grid. sure they leave potential orbit, but can you really think of them as flying off?

Ok then, I will buy that. First principals. 1: First do no harm. I can’t see this as any form of healing. I swear by Apollo Physician and Asclepius and Hygieia and Panaceia and all the gods and goddesses, making them my witnesses, that I will fulfil according to my ability and judgment this oath and this covenant: To hold him who has taught me this art as equal to my parents and to live my life in partnership with him, and if he is in need of money to give him a share of mine, and to regard his offspring as equal to my brothers in male lineage and to teach them this art - if they desire to learn it - without fee and covenant; to give a share of precepts and oral instruction and all the other learning to my sons and to the sons of him who has instructed me and to pupils who have signed the covenant and have taken an oath according to the medical law, but no one else. I will apply dietetic measures for the benefit of the sick according to my ability and judgment; I will keep them from harm and injustice. I will neither give a deadly drug to anybody who asked for it, nor will I make a suggestion to this effect. Similarly I will not give to a woman an abortive remedy. In purity and holiness I will guard my life and my art. I will not use the knife, not even on sufferers from stone, but will withdraw in favor of such men as are engaged in this work. Whatever houses I may visit, I will come for the benefit of the sick, remaining free of all intentional injustice, of all mischief and in particular of sexual relations with both female and male persons, be they free or slaves. What I may see or hear in the course of the treatment or even outside of the treatment in regard to the life of men, which on no account one must spread abroad, I will keep to myself, holding such things shameful to be spoken about. If I fulfil this oath and do not violate it, may it be granted to me to enjoy life and art, being honored with fame among all men for all time to come; if I transgress it and swear falsely, may the opposite of all this be my lot. Translation from the Greek by Ludwig Edelstein

Don’t want to reel you in from what seems like a fun tangent (heh) But… Topic… “Lines” + “human thought”. not “Lines” + “the nature of the universe”.

yes, that’s a really good acid test for behaviour. would you like it if someone did it to you? No ? Then don’t do it to someone else. Would you like it if you were prevented from being born? No? Then don’t do it to someone else.

Guys, I dont think he wants us to solve the example. It might be just an example. I took the intention from the title and the opening line. dunno might be off track.

He could be having a simple language issue. Which is the same as a thought issue. Could be the same answer as to why there are always nouns in a sentence. ps (truncated sentences infer nouns but can reduce them by context). He also could be having a tool issue. People have traditionally recorded thoughts with a stick into a ductile surface. That process makes a line. 3d computer designers have the tool to think in volume, surfaces and relationships. Is this what you mean?

This is a dumb idea but I like it because it’s so obscure. All the little children’s souls are waiting about in the clouds somewhere, waiting for their chance to be born. Patiently passing time, year after year, lounging about or something, looking down crossing their little fingers each time a couple get together. I know it’s unbelievably pathetic but somehow I like the image.

I don’t think in a line. I let everything swim around until it comes into focus. it takes a certain kind of faith to do that. Is that what you mean? First step is to set off without a destination. It can really piss people off who don’t understand it. Sometimes it's good to think in a line. Swapping between the two is also a good trick.

a threshold , or defining moment, between "about to be life" and " life ". conversly the moment of dath in old age as the last breath is taken. a threshold, the defining moment between "life" and "no longer alive". alpha and omega. first we were not. then we are. then we are not once again. funny thing is that either side of the narrow window if life, runs oblivion for eternity.

when you get to the teeny weeny level of reality you find that the particles all have a deal going about how they will relate. You cant think about them as if they behaved the same way as people sized objects. what I like is when an electron wants to shift to another level of energy you can get a photon to fly off. that's kind of cool. and kind of what you want to happen.

To me life starts the second the sperm penetrates the outer casing of the egg. Because without intervention there is every likelihood that a human being will develop. I can see both sides of this argument, but in my thoughts this exact moment counts most

BBC radio is really good. You get first hand stuff as it actually happens from locals. it it really good did I mention that.

For me that turning point in the US was Nixon. At least you can be sure that the National Enquirer will keep you up to date with the latest scientific information. Say, why have there been no follow-up stories on the Giant baby or the Alien Elvis lovechild? I wonder how they are getting on?

no problem. ok stoppong time now. Well, did you notice it? no. case proven. Actually that does bring up an interesting point. Is time continuous or is it packeted as with most other energy expressions.? And if it is packeted are the packets linear. Or even constant. And what goes on in between the packets. Hey there goes another time stop. Did you notice it. No. Would you be more observant please. It’s a bugger to figure out these questions when you are stuck in an affected frame of reference

The thing I find odd is how some people are well behaved in order to go to heaven. that seems wrong to me. You don’t do the right thing for the reward. you do the right thing because it is the right thing.

You just grow stuff, if you have all the water. then you set up a deal with the desert regions. then you swap what you grow for the electricity stored in whatever form you want...hydrogen...electricity...any form really. isn't it beautiful.

Do you folks have any idea how much sunlight falls upon the earth every hour. It's beyond belief and makes oil consumption look pitiful. WE already have a whopping big reactor, the sun...and it's at a good safe distance and it destroys it's own waste. over and over and over again...well until it turns to iron. the answer is right there . look up.

the problem is a thing called virtual point horizon I think. there may be a centre, but because of the limitations on the speed of light, we get a kind of virtual horizon. it's an optical effect that makes the earth appear to be the centre of the universe. it's a point of view type trick.

one small problem. every bit if matter is supposed to be moving away from every other bit of matter. not moving away from a central point. well that's what the smart little kid next door says. he's usually right.

Turn them into fission power plants? (with a good intercompany newsletter) Reducing the need for oil? (heh) got the media in to that one.

That, I have never understood. Why does the US want the rest of the world to be democratic and have free trade. It’s not that good for US resources… It’s like owning the only toy store in the mall and trying to get all the other stores to sell toys as well. Go figure?

I cant keep track of all the religious sub categories these days. I thought the US was mostly Protestant? What is the characteristic of the Evangelical one again? ( ps the name sounds good, kind of like Evil-Kaneevel)

Isn’t the real reason for the fuel variance between the US and the UK simply a matter of timing and size. Weren’t many places in the US built after the event of the motorcar…and laid out with that in mind? And weren’t many of the places in the UK slowly modified from Roman foot traffic to Carts to small cars? I mean, look how wide and straight the roads are in the US. That’s gotta be a clue. (Sorry, I just couldn’t find a way to work the Media into that one - in order to stay directly on topic).
