  1. correct. but i'm not sure about the reason. how did you pull the double jar quantity out of the seventy? ther is no specific mention of the ratio of jar to bean.
  2. Ok I can figure this out the hard way using substitutions, but who can come up with a super quick way to do it. Simple enough for a nine year old to comprendo. Two jars both exactly the same. One bag of beans. You tip four fifths of the beans into the first jar. You tip the remaining fifth into the second jar One jar- bean combo weighs 50 g and the other jar-bean combo weighs 20 g… Question…how much does one of jars alone weigh? Show your reasoning
  3. Hi B. No, I don't think I am as deep into the images as you are. I would really be interested to hear from someone who thinks in words or numbers or some other strength. Anyone?
  4. Cool. It's good to know that someone else is spatial and emotive in the area of mental visualisation. How do you suppose other people see the world? Can you draw complicated images very well? What about music....can you see the waveforms of the instruments as they interact ?

    Dead dog.

Nope, not a negative person. I believe totally in the ability of humanity to find a way to solve any problem. I wasn't even thinking about the dog, it just caught my attention for some strange reason ...like when you see a red flower in a green bed of grass...it sort of just stands out....naturally.
  6. Do you think that some people think in words , while others think in pictures…some even might think in feelings or numbers? I myself for example can easily visualize complicated shapes and rotate split combine etc…and then draw and build what I visualise. I was wondering if everyone naturally does this or has each person got a particular strength?
  7. Hi B. Still having issues huh? I missed most of this. So how often do you get these sensations and for how long do they last? ( are they a few seconds long or do they last for an hour or so?)
  8. And you too show continuing good humour in the face of hostility. The scientist places quest for knowledge, above the quest for power. (Though F.B. would have it that they are one in the same). Thank you for your answer, so you have your hands as full as your page. And even though you paly free and fancy with the quantity know as (10), I give you your prize. T R A J A N ( 98 – 117 ) and one more prize to boot. Jabberwocky Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe.
  9. maybe it's a form of art? Care and Feeding Tips for "verbosity". Verbosity - that is, Verosity as a pet - is very easy to care for. Well, actually it's not simple, but it is in fact easy (the two words don't mean exactly the same thing, do they?), provided of course that you understand the difference not that that would be justification for not being eager to see some success for your Verbosity. Caring on the other hand is less simple and straightforward, but it isn't particularly difficult or impossible to achieve or even let happen on its own, with or without any intent on your part, so far as it goes. All that is really needed - essentially and ultimately required or called for, that is - is to be willing to talk to it, nurture it with words whether they be kind or cruel, pointless or deliberately designed and intended to have some bearing or relevance on the health (whether physical or mental) of your verbosity (or not, as the case may be) for I believe that truly happy verbosity cannot exist on its own. It needs a companion with a willing ear (or even an unwilling one, provided that this aforementioned companion is a captive audience for your verbosity. Get a good dictionary and thesaurus, read it out loud and learn the nuances of the language that you regard as your own as well as the one of your verbosity. There are so many ways to ensure that your verbosity enjoys a long and healthy life that I cannot list them all here, but I intend to try just as soon as my wrists no longer suffer from repetitive stress injuries, the chances of which I have been guilty of increasing by virtue of the number of words I have typed thus far, up to this point, that is (of course, I continue to type, but that isn't such a bad thing at present for what would life be if we could only admit our problems and then do nothing more. Surely it is a good thing to explain our meaning, to elucidate, exapand and enlarge upon whatever it is that we are saying or writing, typing or dictating for the production of something that is not entirely unlike the written word (even though it may not be written per se, or course). At this juncture I trust you will forgive my breaking off with these tips. I shall return soon, all things being equal - which, of course, as we all know they are not, so why I bothered writing it I cannot say unless it is a mere gesture in the direction of truth, honesty, forthrightedness and so much more that is good about the human tendency and ability to use words to their fullness and ... http://humanityquest.com/topic/CareFeeding/index.asp?theme1=verbosity
  10. Well as to your specific question… My unproven thought on it is this. Devolve human physiology backwards to a primitive simple organism and you will see the intimate connection between good fortune and food. Hence the “gut” response. ( I stress, It’s just my idle theory, not real science )
  11. A kind challenge from me to you! Are you able to say in a sentence of no greater than ten (10) words, what you like to do in your spare time? as a reward, I will revel the “Emperor” in question.
  12. So now try it with a blind fold. Then try it with sound blocked. See if it’s audio or visual cues you may be picking up on. (ps this is still not science).
  13. You know, the thing about English is that you can guess the meaning from a few simple words by the context they are uttered within. So really, you don’t need to corral and steer thoughts along such a narrow path by predicting each and every way they will bolt, and blocking that exit. So you think energy exists outside the three dimensions in other forms. Good. Anything else? Ps I found a Roman Emperor who might speak a little Spanish.
  14. Oh thanks, I thought the response was going to be something like… “don’t try and visualise sub atomic stuff”. Yep , I kind of figured that they were not the same. That blue shape in my avatar is one of the theoretical probability clouds for just a hydrogen atom’s electron.! Can you imagine what a water molecule would look like! I just was wondering if the electrons were wandering within the molecule?
  15. I’m just trying to visualise a water molecule. As if it was as big as a solar system. for water, I need two Oxygen atoms and one Hydrogen atom. So I have three solar systems interplaying with each other. the planet Hydrogen has one moon (electron) and so on. Are the moons staying around their own planets or are they being swapped?
  16. agree. Normally air is above water...the sky is above the sea...agree? How is it that steam (water) rises from an electric jug into the air?
  17. Will you do a test? will you get into a well known social gathering place with an observer. and get a deck of cards. get the observer to hold up a card with it's back to you. try and name the card. If you get it right keep it if you get it wrong they keep it. go through a deck ten times and calculate your success %. get back to me if its above the odds. this is not science just a precursor vetting process.
  18. I will use a solar cell if I want to run something using the power from the sun. I will use a photoelectric sensor if I want to turn something on or off (when there is light around). Say, if I want a street lamp to go on at night. one is replacing a battery and the other is replacing a switch. generally. a plant leaf is the biological version of a solar cell, it gets lots energy from the sun and lets all the living creatures on earth use it in the form of food. Your eye is similar to a photoelectric sensor ( but much more complicated ) as it basically conveys data rather than large amounts of energy.
  19. how do you define density?
  20. An air bubble will float from the bottom of the sea to the surface. A piece of gold will float from the surface of the sea to the bottom.. they have been put in an order. what are the properties that decide this order and how can we alter them. (and, Don’t wear jewellery when you go surfing).
  21. So at a micro level..what is it exacly that makes gravity order air above gold. ( I made it gold for sensational effect)
  22. now listen here Beeblebrox, think what you like, but math is a tool to do a job... you may play with it if you wish...but that is not it's intention. ask the dolphins.
