  1. i didnt even notice it... so is everyone a second behind or a second ahead... this leap second confuses me...
  2. I honestly thought that global warming, terrorist wars, fighting over religion, resistance to antibiotics, and the other million things wrong with the earth would end the human race... guess I was wrong. its the super spork that ends us...great...=/
  3. get a gun, baseball bat, and a couple of daggers and go at them with my kickboxing skills. then get a large football sized pool of acid and put them into it. then get a martini and hang out.
  4. Sorry to pop your bubbles... But that's not the case. I asked my mother about it and she said I was an only child. the commercial for the movie is what set me off trying to find out why my eyes are insane. lol. nice try.
  5. katcongrave77 kat-my nickname I got during my first band camp in high school because they were too many Katherines and Katies and there was mass confusion. congrave-my mothers maiden name 77-my band locker number for my instrument, trombone =] nothing shameful about that.
  6. Blue is too sad of a color. It does get old after awhile. Blue sky, blue this, blue that. Ick
  7. Yes adrenaline does play a huge role in allowing the human body to do things that are normally not possible. But there is more! When we are faced with stress, like trying to catch a train or running away from being shot the brain receives that in the form of stress. The stress and emotions we are feeling, like fear or anger stimulate the hypothalamus in your brain. This controls your stress and relaxation in your body. When the hypothalamus recieves the message of stress then it sends out messages to the adrenal glands causing the sympathetic system to react by sending adrenaline (epinephrine) and noradrenaline (norepinephrine), hormones to cause the body to react stronger than it would in a normal everyday situation. These hormones cause these hormones raised heart rate, increased respiration, dilation of the pupils, slowed down digestion and allow muscles contraction. Adrenaline comes from the adrenal medulla a region of the adrenal glands that is above your kidneys it allows blood to flow easier than normal in your body allowing a higher percentage of oxygen to be in your blood, thus allowing your muscles to be able to function and be stronger to out run someone, or in some amazing cases allow people to lift cars off hurt people and allow humans to fight for their lives against bears and survive. Also when adrenaline is released it speeds up the the conversion of the body's fuel source glycogen into its fuel glucose faster than normal, allowing the body to be stronger yet. The strength of the person depends on many factors, like age, gender, ethnically, physical fitness, and the ability of their body to react. A body builder would be able to react better to adrenaline than a small child would. There is many factors that would determine the strength of a person feeling adrenaline. There is no set limit really to what human strength can do with the help of adrenaline. Unfortunately no one has bothered to really test the limit of the human body. Obviously harm to the body, like breaking of bones, tendon damage, ect would be a limit, but no one has really tested the idea. Someone really should. In theory adrenaline overdose could happen, because too much of anything is bad for the body, but there has been no recorded cases of death or harm caused by adrenaline overdose as far back as 1900. Before they didn't keep very good records that I could get to. Hope that answers your questions. =]
  8. Even if we could we would have to combine homo sapiens and avian genetic traits. Would that be even possible? I think that the differences from the two types would lead to some problems. Plus you would have to have a huge circulatory system to supply the blood to the wings to be able to use them, unless you want to have wings attached that don't work. But could the human heart pump that much blood? Birds have to pump their blood at least over 200 times when resting per minute! Even the domestic chickens resting heart rate averages about 245 beats per minute. That would be a heart attack in the normal human being. It could be possible with more research and if we make a super human that would be able to deal with the stress of having wings attached to them, physically and emotionally. It would be very hard to have wings when the rest of your species doesn't. It would be sweet but scientifically very difficult.
  9. My eyes are very unusual. They are different colors, but change colors. My left eye is 3/4 brown with a 1/4 that is blueish greenish and changes size and color randomly. Sometimes it is more 1/2 and 1/2 of each other other times you can barely see the blueish greenish part. My right eye is a greenish blue, but has been known to randomly become silver, completely blue, green, or a dark brown. I first noticed my eyes when I was 4 and have never figured out why they are so random and weird. Many people have noticed them and one genetics doctor only told me that .3% of the population has eyes like mine, but I have never gotten a reason for why they are so random and unusual. My family has a history of our iris being different colors, but never to the extreme that I do. Help?
