  1. Energy and food sources should be based on your preferences. House could just as easily check your garden or fly a drone over to your local farmer. Typically not much but pretty much everything requires some processing. ie. Wheat into flour Adds to cost while typically starting the clock ticking. We have most of the bits and pieces so just a matter of integration and bringing costs down.
  2. We sort of do though we're still presently stuck deciding between time/quality/cost when all three variables could be improved. Your house could order all the raw ingredients, process as needed and cook a Michelin quality meal for you. Wouldn't appeal to everyone naturally but would be beneficial for vast majority.
  3. 'Don't delve into the labyrinthine code or the magic will escape.' Earlier crash was part of it... Investment all rushed from the more dubious Foreign Markets to Dotcoms to Housing. Was like watching a slow moving tidal wave.
  4. Even as a kid some of that seemed crazy. Everyone and their brother kept over investing into a single area. Most websites were really not making much if anything at the time. Really glad I shifted away from a web development focus before graduating in '02.
  5. I'd like to see high levels of cooking automation. Could be hugely time saving for cheap, healthy meal preparation. In other areas of living as well, ideally without needing an external server.
  6. Yeah I'm thinking it'll be mainly hydroponics anyways. Rockwool should be possible to manufacture from local Basalt. Will definitely depend on the relative costs of Imports vs Local production.
  7. Not sure, know the Democratic-Republicans didn't have the best of excuses for Impeaching the one. I'm sure could bring a case too. No idea how it would all work out though if a Justice was still serving especially considering potential appeals. Weird legal territory.
  8. Theoretically... Would likely lack the Supermajority needed for Conviction in the Senate though.
  9. Some have been repurposed for tours and the like. There's no shortage of such spaces in general though. Obviously there can also be safety and liability concerns(death, injury and illness).
  10. I wouldn't have invaded to begin with. The strategic Crimean port had already been obtained. Trying to take/keep unwilling territory is a losing proposition in this day and age.
  11. They're trying to increase demand for the Ruble, which is understandable, but even countries can't break contracts willy-nilly. You don't want your customers concluding you may change your terms at any time.
  12. My main thought is that with some 4,000 positions up for grabs, part of what we're voting on is who the President may nominate/appoint once in office. Other thought is once past the primaries, there's only two real options anyways.
  13. The parties always tend to mirror each other(in some respects). Here the alternative tends to be zero progress if you don't. ...and they gave it to themselves to sone extent. Filibusters used to help moderate things.
  14. For sure. Happy to see a promise fulfilled, a rarity in this day and age. Republicans did remove their own ability to 'object' via filibuster, but that is certainly not Biden's fault. Pretty much everyone knew this scenario would inevitably occur as a result. ...and only a nomination at the end of the day. He could nominate the first person he sees if he wanted. Senators are the ones who actually decide.
  15. No worries. A little bit of water and it'll perk right up
  16. Every US citizen is qualified. Almost any selection criteria will be discriminatory in some sense. I see this as simply the only way to make a break away from tradition that works in the US. Reagan made a similar promise regarding Sandra O'Connor. Country has to be dragged along kicking and screaming into the future.
  17. Good odds Putin would never have been satisfied. He would just keep on annexing surrounding lands piecemeal with some dubious justification or another.
  18. DeSantis would be a marginal improvement but not sure if he can gain the EC votes(even assuming Florida's own).
  19. Just curious, how have things been going since they were introduced?
  20. Well only some material was dermed canonical. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infancy_gospels Then the copy, recopy, translate, copy cycle continued on from there. Political leaders were involved at various points as well in the process.
  21. There are a number of different religious texts out there. Whoever wrote them may have believed them factual, but that isn't something we can trust. At the very least they've been copied and recopied to different languages with inevitable errors and changes. We need something like the Roman tax records, mention of him in other texts or well a body(could be problematic). The closest we have are some lines possibly by Josephus, a Jewish historian in regards. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josephus_on_Jesus Keep in mind the main post-Christ bits in the Bible took place over a 300 year span. The persecutions weren't constant and conversions while relatively fast still took awhile.
  22. Not sure I can give a good explanation but you are talking about milk paint. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milk_paint Think it is addition of a Base to casein protein, though not sure on the chemistry involved.
  23. Ironically the Slaveholding States actually suggested numerical equality at one point to give themselves more Representatives in the House. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three-fifths_Compromise
  24. Impartiality is definitely prized too, but SC Justices could be there forever and Constitution can be vague at times.
  25. We spray locally(in addition to keeping areas drained). Not the best for the environment obviously.
