There's evidence due to the structure of the Universe that it expanded. Cosmic microwave background radiation is another good bit of evidence. Dark Energy is thought to be the present reason for its continued expansion. Dark matter is separate from Dark energy. It does have a gravitational effect, how we determined its existence in the first place. Recently we even have what are effectively images of it due to its attraction of gasses. You can search "dark matter web" if you want to take a look. I'm not sure what you mean by "blender". The accretion disk for Black Holes, are larger than those normally formed, but otherwise pretty standard. Black holes *may* represent a form of matter storage until a point in the future. You can term them as recycling in that sense.

This thread has actually made my opinion more favorable towards Pussy Riot. I used to think their antics were over the top, but now they seem justified.

Most geothermal plants are in the range of 10-23%. It is only the best sites that are in the upper percentile range.

Still a good distance from the fault lines too. Much more concerned with depleted aquifers. I count myself lucky every day when I wake up and my bed hasn't fallen into some gaping maw of the Earth.

A wise man is he who builds his house upon the sand. Sink hole risk could be better, but very few earthquakes. Main issue with geothermal is that other types of plants offer higher thermal efficiencies. The temperatures we have access to are not that hot for all that the source is more or less free.

Do you mean weight or mass? Weight is a measurement of force, Mass is a quantity of matter. Mass is more accurate and you can do more with it. Based on where you are your weight can change, but your mass will remain the same. ie. F = (GMm)/r2

You use electricity to liquify nitrogen, when you could have just left it as electricity and stored that instead. Each conversion step you suffer losses due to inefficiencies. There are also the safety issues as Hypervalent Iodine mentions. I'm honestly surprised we don't have more incidents involving refrigerants. Suffocation, freezing, and the cause just floats away.

The majority of our atmosphere is nitrogen(N2). It will go back to N2 readily, but only with difficulty from N2 to anything else.

We need to know what controls, if any were in place. Did cross contamination between the different leaves occur? Were the subjects observed constantly or did the researchers allow them out of their sight? What guarantee do we have that the researches didn't mistake which arm they applied the leaves to? Was any testing for urushiol residue done? Fairly reasonable issues that would negate the results.

That study has been referenced a lot online but there's no report available anyone has been able to find. Was supposedly leaves from the Japanese Lacquer Tree, if anyone is interested in making the attempt.

Ideally though you would recycle most of it. Anything that saves on pumping or bringing up resources from the ground would be a boon. Fertilizer, gray water reuse, purification back into potable water. Possibly even offload it via hoses to the ground depending on what is available. Worst case move the city over an ocean and you can straight dump it. I imagine they might still use a hose to keep it from being an eyesore.

My only question is why the Lib's? Two party system predominates as a result of our voting system. Republicans are probably the most in danger of the two of an ideological meltdown. A schism between social and fiscal conservationism, but I wouldn't peg the Lib's to be their replacement. More likely some sort of socially moderate fiscally focused offshoot would come out on top. We should see some good candidates this round at least. Figure the good ones were all playing it safe and waiting for the election cycle they would have the best chance of winning. About standard for a President to be reelected for a second term.

There is kind of. Escape isn't the right word, moving to a higher orbit would be though. Tides -> Earth's Rotation slows -> Moon moves outwards Eventually the system would balance out. Moon would never actually escape though. Besides our Sun is going to expand prior to that, so I wouldn't recommend sticking around to watch.

Human memory is error prone. Hard to rely on it, especially after this long. To really prove it, you would need to show outside knowledge. Something that matched nothing observed prior to or obtained through your not entirely turned off senses. Dreams do incorporate your mental conceptions of events, so nothing that says those can't roughly align to what you see in the future. There is actually some research out there dealing with capturing mental images. Pretty primitive at the moment but future looks bright.

You'd have to convert it to an html table(Save as Webpage) and then from there to BBCode. Then you need a forum which accepts that style of BBCode. The BBCode for tables is actually here under the Special BBCode button(3rd top left), but I couldn't get it to work properly. Not sure if there is some trick or there's something off in the implementation. The picture route and then uploading it to somewhere like Imgur is probably the way to go. You should also be able to upload it to somewhere like Google Spreadsheets. Obviously not on the same page, but would save them a download.

I have to admit it took me a bit to figure them out at first too. It took thinking about them as ((Not A) And B) Gates before they really made sense, with B standing in for the presence of a power supply. A B Out 0 1 1 1 1 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 and yeah, it does have a major impact on power consumption/heating. The limits of Diode logic gates can be interesting to look at in relation to this.

You are talking about optical character recognition(OCR). The better human verification systems are designed to prevent this however. People can be payed to basically do your job for you, with results and costs comparable to what the very best OCR software could manage. Figure out what 15 minutes costs at present, then see if this is more or less than what people are paying on mturk(elsewhere?) for similar tasks. Based on that you can decide whether to proceed or not.
