Should ask or check with an official to see if the exception would be allowed first. Don't want to spend even more money if you end up needing to redo it all anyways. May work but the possibility of corrosion would put me on edge. Metals can rust fast and furious in the right circumstances.

Did this random guy seriously rediscover starlite or is it a fake?
Endy0816 replied to Raider5678's topic in Science News
Random Guy lol. He's one of the YouTubers I watch frequently actually. I think would qualify as a carbon foam though this looks stupidly easy compared with other methods I've seen. Chinese lab actually first found the "bread method". Other YouTubers have made it before this as well. It is pretty cool... no pun intended there... No idea if Starlite and probably impossible to say. The name does spark the imagination though doesn't it? -
I seriously thought this thread had to do with turbans all day I feel like this is almost understandable but for the language barrier still in the way. Further explanation would definitely help.

The mention of a third material was very helpful. Thank you. Was a bit dim with just scotch tape but trying plastic on top of oil lit up nicely.

Good point. Light is entering the glass at the top of the picture via an led. Would like the light to be headed more perpendicular or towards the camera after getting to the drops. Want the liquids could have a more uniformly glowing look to them.
-
Have this sort of setup right now. Pane of glass with led light passing through it. Droplets of different liquids to test emission. Is it possible to get the light to come out more vertically from any droplets instead though?

Thanks was curious why no mention of them.

Are microwavable meals not as big a thing elsewhere?

Countries already do this effectively. If you increase the total money supply you make your debt easier to pay. They used to just decrease how much gold the currency was worth. Was really kind of pointless though as it was ultimately still based on trust. It does tax everyone holding the currency in the process as their buying power decreases. Unfortunately is a regressive tax falling more on the less wealthy. If it becomes too much people will stop holding and buying that currency and that is what can cause the problems we see in hyperinflation. Situation ends up outside of Government control.

http://www.ces.fau.edu/nasa/module-2/how-greenhouse-effect-works.php Like water and microwaves, but here we have CO2 and IR.

No, it's a good question. This has actually been accomplished for mice recently. Unfortunately offspring of the male mice didn't survive, though those of the female mice did. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/science/2018/10/news-gene-editing-crispr-mice-stem-cells/ Went basically like you've suggested here. There's normally coding for which parent a chromosome comes from and the normal inheritance of mitochondria(mother)/centrosome(father). Us not getting things exactly right is likely the cause of the remaining issues. I feel confident it'll happen though. Matter of understanding rather than impossibility.

A diet-stress-diathesis model of homosexuality
Endy0816 replied to ritastrakosha's topic in Psychiatry and Psychology
There's plenty of homosexual behavior found out in nature. Solid Game Theory rules dictating it's existence, if nothing else. Society just ended up brainwashed against it and is finally starting to break free again. Almost two thousand years later and we have gay marriage again. Has that paper been formally published(reviewed) anywhere? -
Warrant was issued, back in August, by NY. Would have likely played out the same no matter who was president. Canada can always refuse to extradite. If US does formally ask though, I don't see that happening in this case. She's not subject to the death penalty and politically motivated retribution would be a tough sell. My guess is the countries will wrangle something out. Who knows these days though. Can't help but wonder if Vancouver's vacancy tax played a role in creating this mess. Would be an ironic chain of events.

I've found steaming via a wet paper towel on the bread or leftovers works pretty well to keep things soft. Think I recall seeing microwavable pots made for steaming too.

Yeah, sounds like they're looking at Hybrids along with Electric. Thinking about getting one myself as my next vehicle. I think in terms of net cost you could end up saving a fair bit.

What is the evidence that humans are causing or speeding climate change
Endy0816 replied to Suzie's topic in Climate Science
https://climate.nasa.gov/vital-signs/carbon-dioxide/ http://berkeleyearth.org/global-temperatures-2017/ Please stop equating Science and faith. Evidence is the name of the game here. We don't want you just to 'believe' something. Does us no good. -
What is the evidence that humans are causing or speeding climate change
Endy0816 replied to Suzie's topic in Climate Science
We're seeing multiple indcators trending upwards with no end on sight. We are not trying to stop the climate from changing, but rather stop our highly damaging contribution. Presently not all the glaciers are gone. Melting not melted. Science is not about belief. You can review the evidence yourself and draw your own conclusions. Not even hard these days Oh redtide around most of the state... Huh coral reefs aren't doing so great... Hmm this house was not in fact offshore before... It's like the religious tale of the man that god sends all kinds of help to but the man refuses to accept and ends up drowning. What sign is it going to take? -
What is the evidence that humans are causing or speeding climate change
Endy0816 replied to Suzie's topic in Climate Science
We have evaluated the past. Ice cores being a mainstay. Normally climate change is real gradual. Things bob up and down slightly or gradually move in one direction or another. We're seeing a transition from hills to Everest though. There isn't something like an asteroid or sufficient volcanic action to explain such a sudden change. Science is evidence based so it isn't a matter of faith llike the religions you mentioned. You can(and for your own well being should) review the multiple lines of evidence yourself. Locally my state is seeing land vanish and the long summer/late winter effect. Kind of past the time to debate. Trying to figure out ways to minimize the personal impact at this point.
