  1. A combined approach probably. Let the computer work on it first and then go over it yourself if needed. Computer is fast but only so knowledgeable. Welcome. Yes, I've converted a number of historical photos of my own city using this. They are pretty cool.
  2. Deep learning to the rescue! Automated form of manually coloring it in. https://demos.algorithmia.com/colorize-photos/ Keeping in mind it is still guessing based on training.
  3. Possibly if they figured out the trapping and storage of gasses. Few different uses that would offer them.
  4. I brought up similar concerns last time I was in and was told it wasn't actually a huge deal. Apparently taken care of by the lungs if in a vein.
  5. Wiki has a good article on it. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/DNA_barcoding Does mention possibility for errors , two different species ending up with the same 'barcode'. Also talks about how the mutation rate of mitochondria is higher but effective population of carriers(females) is less than the species total. Didn't see anything there on how recent splits are. It is definitely interesting.
  6. https://a2milk.com.au/questions-answers/ I don't know of any good research that says one way or another. I suspect a2 milk is more marketing hype than anything else, but at any rate the company itself reccomends against it. I don't want to sound like a commercial, but the others do taste the same if not better(vanilla), though soy is the only one that has the right texture IMO. No lactose or casein to worry about
  7. Not really. The allergic reaction is an immune response to the protein, unfortunately. Nondairy milk is the most reasonable option. Researchers are learning ways to rewire the immune system. Might be a possibility down the line. https://multiplesclerosisnewstoday.com/2017/03/10/re-train-immune-system-ignore-self-autoimmune-diseases-ms/
  8. I think some colleges help pay part or all of the fee if you pass. Similar situation with the software costs. Signing up for a class could about pay for itself in various student bennefits.
  9. There are testing centers. You'll still need to prepare in some fashion. Those tests are to show proficiency with Microsoft products and services not necessarily to work at Microsoft itself. Can't say what your odds are there. Checking job postings is the best way see what companies are looking for
  10. I'm really not sure on all the physics of juggling, though I've a bit at it myself. Amusing results unless you are an apple.
  11. Convert that part to a fraction, then multiply. ex. 2 * 1/3
  12. The common model is of an event horizon surrounding a mathematical singularity. Be some distance for anything falling in to still go. Externally temperature of a reasonably large BH can come close though. Can't measure a non-measurement, just to put that out there. Relative zero or 'close enough' is what we're limited to.
  13. They probably just kept at it, repeatedly trying to create more of the heat or sparks that they were already seeing. Like they might have had reason to drill a hole in wood with another stick. Inadvertently they create heat via friction which they slowly and over much time trial and error into fire making. I figure jellyfish lens is crazy improbable historically(least involved though) and a fire piston would take tools and skill to produce. So yeah, earliest manmade means was probably one of the other two.
  14. Does bug me that with at least four different methods available to them, we think they were dependent on natural occurrences of fire. Tool production(drilling, sharpening) or boredom, could have easily led to the basic discovery.
  15. Hammurabi's code of law was probably about placing limits on further escalation. Bob takes your brother's eye. Bob may then be deprived of his eye, but not his life, property, etc. We really should be past that, though not sure everyone can be reformed.
  16. Nice find. I'll let a moderator know for you.
  17. Yeah, I'm thinking water reservoir, to better retain/store water already seeping into the cave naturally. Probably was some kind of long gone mortar at one point.
  18. Sorry, meant to post a bit ago. Generally you are describing epigenetics. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epigenetics Logically you don't need to store everything for the same length of time. Just to note, Neuron replication is very limited.
  19. 8 Yeah, I'd heard the same. Use the same trick for making tap water more palatable too for that matter, lol. Thinking on it some warmer more stagnant water will naturally have tannins from fallen leaves too. Be like a weak tea. Know tannins can inhibit microbial growth, so either one might be fine to an extent.
  20. Probably more translucent than transparent, but should work.
  21. More to show the problem of loose wording. Very very similar lack of restrictions in our law here. People seeking to take advantage of the incentive even if they are going against the spirit of it.
  22. Counts as horse breeding. Cows are typical too. http://www.landreport.com/2007/04/agricultural-exemptions-cut-your-taxes/ https://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2012/04/americas-dumbest-tax-loophole-the-florida-rent-a-cow-scam/255874/ Disney, Lockheed Martin, Sen. Bill Nelson are all 'small' farm owners. Need some kind of restrictions rationally.
  23. Unfortunately that's too vague. We have a major agricultural property tax loophole that is based on similar logic. You'll see a couple of horses on a large plot of prime realestate to qualify it as a 'farm'.
  24. Entanglement is roughly like two sides of a coin split in two. Finding one tells you the other. Some weirdness still, but not what media tends to depict. Dimension = a measurable extent length, width, depth, time are commonly used/seen.
  25. Maybe a plasma ball under the table. I have pump and crank flashlights. They will probably outlast me as it is. Some kind of lava lamp style setup might work... Rising and falling gas as your moving 'component'. Still be demagnetizing the magnet though.
