    Ah, okay.
  2. Cooling vests are 1-200 hundred. They might need something more costly though to keep bulk down.

Sometimes makes sense factoring in the cost of a soldier. Training, benefits, recruiting cost. The pay is low, but everything else adds up. $75 dollar trays? I've seen disposables used for water conservation. Not sure of cost though. We could skimp on some of the training exercises or pay however much to bring water out there though. I do agree, our government employing PMCs to be foolhardy. Think we would have learned from Pinkerton :/
  4. We now know where Goat Simulator gets their ideas.

Not even hypothetical. http://www.nbcnews.com/id/39516346/ns/us_news-life/t/no-pay-no-spray-firefighters-let-home-burn/ If you are paid up, your house will be okay though. I think you really have to mandate collection for some things. Both due to natural shortsightedness and to combat coercive measures.
  6. What we know is freely available. There's gaps in our knowledge though. Studies sometimes just don't happen or can't isolate real effects easily. ...and hype loves gaps, so keep that in mind. Generally manic symptoms are seen with nootropics. I think it is hard to say how effective they really are for test taking. They can't make you any smarter, but they can calm you down and help you focus. You don't have a battery, but yeah, there can be issues. This one people describe altered behavior as well as trouble during withdrawal.
  7. Homosexual behavior is seen in nature. Why deny part of God's creation?
  8. Not sure tey realized longterm issues. Seemed real happy considering radiation effects in the video they mad.
  9. Was basically the idea for the Davy Crockett. I'm sure they weren't fully aware of the consequences of exposure though. Probably for the best they were never used in combat.
  10. I was really thinking a mechanically launched grenade against a protected target. Easy enough to monitor for people with backpacks or suspicious vehicles. Sheer distance might be enough, but diving underwater is also fairly viable in many areas.
  11. Not sure the analogy holds that far. Should eventually shrink back to nothing as the Universe cools.
  12. Conceivably a martyr could be willing enough, but I think the cost/benefit ratio isn't going to support it happening. Cost would be substantially higher while power is lower. Maybe a well protected target, even then probably easier routes. Some areas do have radiation monitors. Not sure how effective they are though.
  13. Gallium comes from Tonga apparently :)

  14. You won't find anyone here willing to do the assignment for you, but we can discuss it if you'd like.
  15. They made a few smaller ones, "Nuclear Grenades". The article has more info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Davy_Crockett_(nuclear_device) Video of a test firing: Pretty cool, not practical but cool.
  16. Alien Jehovah's Witnesses are too frightening to imagine. Anyhow since nobody has shown up yet through a slew of wars and ecosystem devastation that's been going on since prehistoric times. Let's assume we're on our own and do what we can to improve things. You know what Hercules said, "The Gods help those who help themselves."
  17. Only Bacteria and Archaea produce B12(cobalmin). Vegans ironically are the ones who have it rough supply wise. Should take some form of supplement or consume fortified food. http://veganhealth.org/b12/plant#intro http://www.veganhealth.org/b12/vegansources#fort ...and yeah, I've been trying to cut back myself. I'll have at least a couple meatless days out of the week now.
  18. I think you would have to double check the numbers. Some things like yeast are fed on plant sugars. Is generally true that ruminants aren't hugely efficient. They do allow us to get some use out of standard grass and what not though. They don't necessarily eat the same type of corn, though we could obviously repurpose land.
  19. Too humid for a swamp cooler to work well :'( They are a cool technology(pun unintended) more suitable for dry climates though.
  20. I required formula myself. Not all babies can tolerate milk.
  21. Welcome. Have to admit my own understanding of them is pretty abstract. Found this thread an interesting read. Does seem like a more interesting time to be alive(although I do appreciate having computers that can sit in the palm of my hand too).
  22. They can themselves serve as components of logic gates. http://www.quadibloc.com/comp/cp01.htm https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mains_electricity#Terminology I wish there was "a" US equivalent
  23. May have to wait until there's a(hopefully mild) outbreak before you see support move back towards vaccinating.
  24. He's arguing the opposite of the thread title. Is more than a bit confusing and inviting of debate.
  25. Interesting the different opinions. As to OPs question, I am not sure if there are enough formal articles on the subject for a report. Maybe shift focus to something related? CS does involve different sciences but at something of a remove. In this case I lean towards Science being used to mean specific study. There's also the programming languages to consider. They are distinct human constructs despite all having their roots in mathematics.
