  1. @Robittybob: Can you go ahead and upload a copy for testing? Thanks.
  2. I'm not too worried. Women are simply going to pass men in terms of earnings then form a good ol' girl network to keep the new regime in place. This college's stat's are a good example of what is to come: https://www.ucl.ac.uk/srs/statistics/tables/e/2015-16 We males will finally be doing the jobs we were always meant for. Fighting and fixing crap. You see a silver back go hunt down a wild boor? No. Bringing home the bacon was never what we were meant to be doing. This is the natural solution. No guy can develop the emotional intelligence needed in modern CEO's and managers. We need to focus what we are good at and let the women handle all the complicated parts of life.
  3. More about knowing where they will stand on present and future issues. Generally nomination and confirmation process weeds out problems and lifetime post means they are insulated from politics once in. They can interpret laws but not make them, which places limits on their relative power.
  4. I would have fun with it. Legal eligibility requirements are nonexistent.
  5. Saw that the dye was absorbed where the plant had been submerged and that a small amount managed to work its way up the capillaries. Might try submerging the remaining leaf or going with something different.
  6. Ig
  7. Only in the sense that no analogy will be spot on. Reason why everyone pushes people to try and look at the math. Honestly found it all reasonabley straightforward after finding similarities back to good old Pythagorean Theorom.
  8. So at 22 days and both leaves don't appear to have changed further for better or worse... I'm thinking I'll remove one out and cut it to shape and in the process see if any dye appears to have been absorbed. Honestly, if it isn't the preservative, with this kind of longevity I'm tempted not to worry about preserving and simply cutting new leaves as needed. Thing grows like a weed and is related to a local invasive. If you ever want an indoor air purification plant that is virtually indestructible, it is the way to go though.
  9. Yeah, when I'm looking for myself I'll try and ID a specific quality/ingredient to focus on. I know assorted wakefulness promoters can cause temporary mania but not sure if that alone would help with depression any...
  10. Yeah, I went and looked at those. Kind of along the same lines. Have no idea why but the idea caught my imagination. Ran into something on that after searching for a bit. http://www.snowcrystals.com/science/science.html Not what I was thinking of but interesting at any rate.
  11. Wow, really different than I thought. I knew that some of the debugging aspects of the sim were wildly unrealistic, but seems even some of the more basic aspects are as well. Thank you for sharing your professional experience, not exactly a "Raising Immortal Cells For Dummies" book out there.
  12. It seems like they would just evolve to lab conditions though. I was thinking it would be like simulations where you can select against the type you don't want or for the type you do want.
  13. Would it be possible to make threads of ice using supercooled water? Cotton Candy and Instant Ice videos got me wondering
  14. Was mainly curious about HeLa, but interesting nonetheless. Thanks. How do you keep cell lines stable? Only thing I can think of is artificial selection.
  15. Do you happen to know whether it utilizes telomerase, alternate telomere lengthening or both?
  16. Your brain is sensing your need to go. I've never ran into it myself but others here have reported similar associated imagery.
  17. There are species that change genders, there are hermaphrodites, there are asexual species. A number of strategies out there. Different evolutionary trade offs involved with each.
  18. Turned a noodle dryer into a device station today.

  19. Times have changed since when the cancerous cells were then legally obtained. Still an issue today though depending on the specific circumstances. We have more cell lines available today. Logical that an older line would have less value. X posted - slow typing on phone
  20. The whole glasses mistake ruined Lord of the Flies for me. :/ "We need your glasses for making fire." Nearsighted: Piggy, "They can't make fire..." Farsighted: Piggy, "No problem. I can see okay without them for awhile." Snaps glasses in two. "There, now each group can have half while we wait for rescue." Whole source of conflict and symbolism gone. Mainly depends on the average age of the players. You may still want to seek about for a mature group to play with though. Teams are probably where you need to look(if not another game altogether).
  21. Wikipedia has biographical information. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henrietta_Lacks HeLa is the specific name of that line of immortal cells.
  22. Don't use them! It is well known that bots require no additional mental acuity and that pills can even be detrimental to your hardware. If you are having issues I recommend you look at upgrades instead.
  23. They don't know. We see many many video postings here. Have to start budgetting your time at some point.
  24. There are real reasons to wonder, but subcribing to woo rather than looking at actual science is pointless.
  25. Unless the place is selling something, nobody wants someone showing up on their doorstep unannounced. Likely wouldn't even be set up a proper test without advance notice.
