Does anybody know the difference and the pros and cons between the two treatments? My 18 year-old cousin has a big acne problem and the post-acne scars which has made him go through a variety of treatments and medicine, some at the dermatologists and some at home using stuff from indigenous knowledge recommended by people with the same experience. Lately he's been going to a dermatologist who's been giving him the laser treatment. He's done it twice but now notice that it's getting too expensive each time. He once used to go to a dermatologist who gave him the Iontophoresis (using electric current and vitamins) which was a lot more economical but he stopped it to try some other indigenous knowledge.

What I understand is that Laser treatment is like burning your facial skin and consequently stimulating collagen synthesis on your face. Iontophoresis is like using vitamins to stimulate peeling of the skin with support from electric current, which is a lot milder than Laser treatment.

I myself do not specialize in this field and just have very basic knowledge about this. My cousin is deciding whether he should continue the Laser treatment (which is more expensive and he's also not sure if it's really gonna work at the end of the treatment series) or go back to Iontophoresis (which is less expensive, but since Laser treatment is more expensive he wants to know if it's any better.) Any help or advice?

PS. his pimples are large ones and I've never seen them off from his face. Really wanna help him

PS.2 if any of my knowledge is wrong please tell me and give some advice, thanks a lot in advance
