I'm too far north! I see, checking on line, this is more a Geordie usage. My son-in-law is a Geordie, but I've not heard him use it. I'll add it to my vocabulary.

My paternal roots are Geordie but it is quite common in the Midlands. It's not suitable for usage by a person who swans around in the "upper echelons" of society.
