Thomas Wood Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 is it used just for making 'bangs' or can it acctually shoot something p.s hope it's the right forum
darth tater Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 That stuff is acetylene gas like is used in cutting torches and it makes a helluva bang even with nothing in front of it. My guess would be that it burns too fast to be useful as a propellant in a firearm.
Thomas Wood Posted May 13, 2005 Author Posted May 13, 2005 right thanks, but napoleon i think used them, they must have fired something
akcapr Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 hmm let me think.... corks? jk im pretty sure they shot cannonballs
H2SO4 Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 i dont see why you cant put a projectile in one. reaLY SCARY thoUGH.
akcapr Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 it cant be that scary. its only gas. And its not like its mixed with alot of oxygen either. On the other hand i have never done anything with acetylene.
Mendelejev Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 You know, you could go fishing with carbide. Take a large can and fill it with carbide. Place the lid on the can en make some holes in it. Threw the can in the water... water goes in the can, reacts, gasses will form and after some seconds ... Kaboem. By the violent explosion, all the fish will come to the surface and can you catch them with a fishing net !!
Thomas Wood Posted May 14, 2005 Author Posted May 14, 2005 lol nice would the fish be contamanated then?
