Sriman Dutta Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 I believe that today's technology, which have only been possible due to great strides in mathematics, is the crop grown from the seed of logical imagination.
Strange Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 The other day I was going through a post that said "Applied Mathematics involves mathematical models as well as creativity". That is very interesting. /sarcasm
AshBox Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 As per my point of view, Mathematical Modeling consists of simplifying Real World problems and representing them as Mathematical problems(Mathematical Model), solving the mathematical problems and interpreting these solutions in language of the Real World. In simple form- Conversion of Real World phenomena under certain conditions into Mathematical formulation is known as Mathematical Modeling. A list of applications All areas mentioned have numerous mathematical challenges Anthropology Modeling, classifying and reconstructing skulls Archaeology Reconstruction of objects from preserved fragments Classifying ancient artifices Architecture Virtual reality Artificial intelligence Computer vision Image interpretation Robotics Speech recognition Optical character recognition Reasoning under uncertainty
