YT2095 Posted May 18, 2005 Share Posted May 18, 2005 this confuses me... benzene with a hydroxyl is phenol, Fine. phenol with 1 or more hydroxyls goes back to being called Benzene again? ie/ why is 1,2,4 trihydroxylbenzene not called 2,4 dihydroxyphenol?
